... you can talk about whatever you want.

(And you can buy many of the things you want at Amazon, perhaps by kindly using The Althouse Portal.)

Wonder if that's Garage out there fishing.

I was thinking of heading up north for some sugaring... Hmmmm.

Some brave women in Europe are tired of feeling afraid to go outside alone, fed up with being harassed, afraid of being raped. They are calling upon the people of Europe generally and the supporters of #MeToo specifically to stand behind them and provide their full, unequivocal support.

No #MeToo for you! Ladies. It’s complicated.

Probably a little early. When I lived in New Hampshire for a year, my next door neighbor (we each had 5 acres) had a sugar shack and about 50 maple trees. I spent a few days helping him and it was a lot of fun.

He had clean stainless buckets and trash cans filled with plastic trash bags.

The sugar shack had a steel tray with a fire going to boil off the water. The roof vent let the steam out.

Your idea of fun sounds about as twisted as my ice-fishing brother's in Montana.

Is it true that all clocks in porno films are non-functional, or does time truly stop when two scantily-clad woman start kissing, and fondling?

Asking for a friend!!

arrrrggghhh......women not woman!!

robother म्हणाले...

If you find yourself watching the clock while viewing porn, maybe its time for the real thing?

I'll tell my friend!!

As the days lengthen, the cold strengthens.

But still, I want to head back up, the first rosy fingered dawn of spring starts mid Feb, in my book.

On the medical front, it appears dementia has been cured. At least in one case. That would be Donald Trump. A few weeks ago, several commnie-pinkos lefties and their komrads in the media diagnosed the aforementioned President of having been afflicted with the disease, along with other assorted mental disorders. However, within the past few weeks, the disease has disappeared from the news headlines, so one must presume Trump has been cured.

Unfortunately, the same cadre of lunatics have diagnosed Trump with Obstructionus Justinious. It appears this illness will be cured within a few weeks also.

I assume clocks in all films are stopped--for continuity's sake. Scenes are filmed at *all* times and out of order.

Ford is selling $90,000 Lincoln SUVs faster than it can make them.

Lincoln Navigators

Probably opiate related...

I agree it's probably too early for sugaring, except maybe the initial setup before you start tapping trees. Plenty of cold in the next week-10 days, not the freeze/thaw you need to get the sap going. As I understand it.

I buy maple syrup, I don't help make it.

Some Ford pick up trucks now exceed $100K. I paid $30K for my first house.

Jaq म्हणाले...

You gotta prep for sugaring. It’s like fishing, getting ready for a trip is part of the fun.

I am sick of palm trees and ocean breezes! Bring on the bracing north wind!

I'm tired of cold weather. (Whine)

When I'm rich and retired (likely both will not happen) I will spend mid-January to March in the south.

At least it's light (ish) at 7 AM now, and at 5:20 PM. Hope.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

I used your Amazon portal to buy the Jordan Peterson book. Hope the book is worth it.

I love the palm trees and warm ocean breezes. But I have ridden out a cat 4 hurricane on an island and did not enjoy that one bit. Mainland United States for me, thanks.

This is kind of interesting: of late there has been a new oft linked to news site, Axios. I think a lot to people seem impressed by it.
Just saw that it's owned by Laurene Powell Jobs by way of her family office non-profit, "The Emerson Collective".

I was aware that she had taken control of the "The Atlantic Monthly" last year.

She's really trying to make her mark in the mediasphere by way of a 501(c)

They have roadside clinics now people! Drive in, no waiting, they will even give you an enema! Trust me, a nurse administered enema is all good.

What kind of “clinic” is this exactly? I mean, we have all seen The Big Lebowski.

Tell me if you have heard this before.

My grandfather was a farmer in a blue county in Wisconsin. However, he voted Republican his entire life.

When he died, he only voted for Democrats.

Something appropriately lawyerly for the Althouse Amazon portal - the complete "Rumpole" British ITV series, with Leo McKern. 14 disks.

Wife and I have been watching the last few days.

Its over $100 for the set. Worth it I think.

Check it out.

If you're looking at the cock in all-girl porn, you may need to try a different movie.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

Rumpole of the Old Bailey was an oldie but a goodie, Buwaya. He was very British, but Horace Rumpole truly understood the nuanced skill sets of a trial lawyer. And displaying that on a TV series makes it the only good one of the courtroom genre type.

Ralph L म्हणाले...

Portia of the chambers Patricia Hodge showed up in something recently. Took me a while to remember her name, and now I can't remember the show. The Crown?

Naturally.

Reminds me of a story about Isaac Asimov — who never flew and thus only sought places to visit which were within easy train travel away from the U.S. northeast coast. Once he was prevailed upon to holiday at Niagara Falls, and arriving in his hotel room next to the falls, looking forward to a pleasant visit, he was shocked to discover that “they don’t turn the falls off at night….”

Re: voting.
I used to pack apples with a grizzly old apple farmer up in the Baraboo hills, back in high school. He had no time for politics at all. Used to say, “Farmers around here all vote socialist y’know. That’s because they all know a socialist will never be elected!” And off he’d guffaw.
