At the Secret-Ingredient Café...
... what do you know?
It's "Black Friday," an occasion to remember to do your shopping through The Althouse Amazon Portal.

WE spent an hour looking for a couple of cooking items that seem to be lost in the move last year.
This was the first time we had attempted to cook a big meal since settling in. I will see if they can be found through your portal.
" I will see if they can be found through your portal."
The Althouse portal has a Lost and Found? Does she have my sunglasses?
Anne Hathaway isn't going to win an oscar for Colossal, though not her fault.
It's an unactable plot.
Also nobody will know it's her if they don't tell you.
Rated R for language.
Ann, do you get your referral "cut" on Amazon digital downloads? I don't buy much any more, but I do download some singles and albums on occasion.
No, we should be using the Althouse Amazon Portal on Cyber Monday. Sheesh, madam Professor, you simply must get with the 21st century!
If you want consistently good acting, I'd go with Simon Pegg.
Ann, why do you use Flickr for your blog's photographs?
Worst male actor, Pierce Brosnan.
He does okay sometimes (e.g. Bond) but he's out-of-frame annoying in others.
Steely Dan gets played a surprising amount in the bar. Surprise is relative, of course: this means you hear one of their songs every month or two. Usually it is one of three: Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Do It Again, Black Friday.
Probably someone will play Black Friday today, for the obvious reason.
Do It Again, though: those are the lyrics some guys in the bar think of as speaking to them. If only they had more happening in their lives, that is who'd they be.
The ones who fancy themselves fighters identify with the first verse:
In the mornin' you go gunnin'
For the man who stole your water
And you fire till he is done in
But they catch you at the border
And the mourners are all singin'
As they drag you by your feet
But the hangman isn't hangin'
And they put you on the street
The ones who fancy themselves failed romantics go for the second verse:
When you know she's no high climber
Then you find your only friend
In a room with your two timer
And you're sure you're near the end
Then you love a little wild one
And she brings you only sorrow
All the time you know she's smilin'
You'll be on your knees tomorrow
And the third verse is claimed by the reckless ones:
Now you swear and kick and beg us
That you're not a gamblin' man
Then you find you're back in Vegas
With a handle in your hand
Your black cards can make you money
So you hide them when you're able
In the land of milk and honey
You must put them on the table
You can tell who is who by what they nod along to. Although you can pretty much tell who is who just by looking at them.

I did find a replacement meat rack and saved a link to a dining table pad store.
We are still going to search for the missing two dining table pads as they are older than I am and still were in great shape the past time I used them in the old house.
We didn't find your sunglasses.
There was a heroin kid on the street who was quite a good piano player. He would walk the Ave carrying an electronic full-size keyboard, then sit and play. Mostly classical: I'm sure there is an interesting backstory from piano lessons to now. People walking by would toss spare change into whatever can he was using that day, the odd paper dollar or two.
I bought him batteries from time to time -- the money he made never seemed to be for those.
One day he was walking by without his keyboard. I asked him what happened, and he said it was stolen. I interpreted 'stolen' as sold for drug money. Basically, he just shot up his seed corn into his arm.
Later that day I walked down to the Goodwill store, and bought a cheap keyboard. He passed by later, and I gave it to him. He was effusive in his thanks, then went across the street and started playing. Beethoven mostly, but he would occasionally throw in a lick from an old Beatles song or such, then back to the Beethoven. Again, people walking by would drop him spare change and the odd paper dollar or two.
I realized he would eventually sell that keyboard for drug money, too, but you can only give someone a second chance, you can't make them do the right thing with it.
He had talked about moving north to Bellingham before, and I haven't seen him in months. Maybe he made it there. Drug money can be used for bus money, if you are strong enough to follow through.

"We didn't find your sunglasses."
Thanks for looking, MK. I didn't hold out much hope. They're somewhere in Sydney.
Trump is playing golf today with Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods.
Now I like a president who plays golf. I very much liked the fact that almost every president from Taft to Trump was a golfer, and that some were passionate golfers. I think it is good for the man, and therefore good for his performance in office and consequently good for the country that the President of the United States is a golfer.
But here is Trump, doing what no other candidate for, or occupant of, the Oval Office has ever done or said; ripping Obama for the amount of golf Obama plays:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9JM4uxaI-0
And here is the count, on Trump's golfing frequency versus Obama's golfing frequency:
http://trumpgolfcount.com/
As an avid golfer myself -- and I hate to mention names but it has been shown to my great satisfaction that commenter "Fabi" is an accomplished golfer as well -- it is striking to me that Trump's GHIN handicap record is almost completely devoid of any real scores for months and even years.
If Trump were a member at a club of mine, and he had played something like 100 rounds of golf in a year and a half, and had never recorded a score for his handicap calculation with the USGA or the Metroplitan (NY-NJ) Golf Association, I'd question whether he should be allowed in any club competition. But in Trump's case, what is also clear (via stories from great golfers Trump has played with) is that Trump's legendary single-digit handicap is bogus, and a pure matter of his own ego and vanity. I'd wager that Trump could play a true match, by the Rules of Golf, with just about any other legit 2 or 3 handicap player and Trump would get beaten like a rented mule. I've said to friends that I'd like to play Trump in a match (with a referee) for a billion dollars, where Trump has to give me four shots a side.
Trump's GHIN page:
http://www.ghin.com/lookup.aspx
The new President of Zimbabwe is only 75. Perhaps he will have the vigor necessary to get the country back on course. Still, he may be gone before anyone learns how to spell his name.....I hope that now the athletes from Zimbabwe will stop taking a knee before their matches.
Looking at that GHIN lookup page (and from years of looking up handicaps), I recall that the .url only gets you to the lookup page. To get Trump's handicap, you have to enter his last name (Trump), first initial (D) and state (New York) to get Trump's record from Winged Foot CC which is the one club he belongs to which is not one of his own self-owned golf courses. (Trump joined Winged Foot decades ago.) The GHIN system however reports all scores posted within the nationwide system, so it is a fact that Trump is just not posting scores as any competitive recreational player should.
Football on in the background yesterday. Seeing the antics of players after a touchdown put me in mind of OJ Simpson, one of the greatest players of all time.
He never showboated or acted childish after a score, always classy. After football, well liked by everyone.
Then, one silly mistake, slicing a couple of throats, and all of a sudden he is despised by half of the country.
Naturally, this leads me to thinking of the similarities with the unfortunate politicians and show business people who are being ostracized for transgressions after a lifetime of good works.
It's a beautiful day to hang Christmas lights outside.
Monday will be good too, for that.
Meanwhile, turkey soup for dinner.
so it is a fact that Trump is just not posting scores as any competitive recreational player should.
Oh. My. God. WHY ISN'T CNN REPORTING ON THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!
Lands End has its 50% 0ff sale today only, so we just bought girls ski parkas for 4 grand kids at half price. The boys get other stuff.
More Trump Derangement Syndrome. Next thing you know anonymous ethics experts will tell us that Trump not changing his last name violates ethics guidelines.
"It's a beautiful day to hang Christmas lights outside."
Awfully windy. I'm behind on my fall cleanup, because I put my back out a couple of weeks ago (doing fall cleanup), but it's too windy today.
"Oh. My. God. WHY ISN'T CNN REPORTING ON THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!"
No need. That's why they have Chuck.

I just forwarded your observation to Robert Mueller. I suggest you follow up with him to ensure that you get credit for this new avenue of investigation, even if it is likely that Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods are already fully cooperating witnesses.
"Football on in the background yesterday. Seeing the antics of players after a touchdown put me in mind of OJ"
I saw an Ole Miss receiver score a touchdown yesterday and then get on his hands and knees and raise his leg as if he were a dog pissing on a fire hydrant. Incredible.
I thought Chuck would spend the day recovering from all the felching he did last night. Some men never get enough.
And he got penalized for it; unsportsdoglike conduct.
I just forwarded your observation to Robert Mueller. I suggest you follow up with him to ensure that you get credit for this new avenue of investigation, even if it is likely that Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods are already fully cooperating witnesses.
Fuckers probably wired !
We agree that it's a vanity handicap, Chuck. That's unfortunate -- I don't care for the guys at my clubs who do such. It defeats the very purpose of maintaining a handicap.
1. Because Trump criticized Obama so harshly, I tried to put up the data showing that Trump is a steaming pile of hypocrisy.
2. Because Trump himself has made such unseemly claims about his golf game, I tried to show how unlikely it all is.
3. Because I was to give Trump's fans no room to counterattack, I say again that I have nothing against golf or golfing presidents. It's only Trump. Trump's personally offensive demeanor. Which has nothing to do with golf's great traditions. It is an affront, to golf's great traditions.
“The worst celebrity golf cheat?” the rock star Alice Cooper said in a 2012 interview with Q magazine. “I wish I could tell you that. It would be a shocker. I played with Donald Trump one time. That’s all I’m going to say.” (“I’ve never played with Alice Cooper,” Trump said. “That’s a terrible thing to say about people, especially me.”)

Does the President play for money when he plays with other golfers? If so, having a handicap below your actual ability is brutal. It just helps you get whupped. President Trump is a very competitive guy (obviously), so my guess is he likes to compete and doesn't like to lose, and would not benefit from exaggerating his handicap.
Or, he could be a big fat liar like Chuckie butt boy Bill Clinton.
With golf, ya never know.
On the other hand, with pro golf, most of the guys are very hard competitors and good sports (at least for the camera, and that [the public face] is what counts). They don't pee on the flagstick or kneel for the anthem; in fact, they are obviously joyous when competing together under the banner of the flag in team matches against the world. Golf, unlike football and basketball, is still a gentlemens' game. Hard competition, good sportsmanship, no disrespect to country (isn't it amazing you even have to think about that?). Golf is the national pastime; or should be.
I eagerly await your upcoming revelations Chuck!
Wow, great stuff. Next you'll be telling us that Trump uses a 14-pound Bowling Ball in a 16-pound League. Cuts margarine into his all-butter pie crust. Rides a motorcycle down a Bike Path!
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/04/golfers-say-trump-has-the-best-game-of-any-president.html
"He's a decent player for a guy in his 70s," pro golfer Rory McIlroy tells No Laying Up after playing a round of golf with President Trump on Sunday. McIlroy, a four-time major champion, says Trump shot "around 80," Business Insider reports. McIlroy is currently sidelined from competitive golf with a stress fracture in his rib but says he decided to tough it out when he got the invite Saturday night to play with the president. McIlroy isn't the only professional golfer to have weighed in on Trump's game. Tiger Woods has previously said Trump "takes a pretty good lash" for a man his age.
Meanwhile, Chuck does his best work as a ball washer.
Andrew Sullivan had Palin‘s vagina, Chuck has Trump’s golf handicap to spend his pathetic Thanksgiving weekend obsessing over.
Imagine being this deranged.
Poor chuck. My Index was 9 when I finally had to quit five years ago because of pain from spondylolisthesis.
What's yours , chuck ?

Right. And so we can further agree that by rights, "vanity" handicaps ought to be harmful only to their owners. As I say, if Trump played a real match with his vanity handicap against a properly-handicapped player, and played by the Rules, he'd lose his shirt. If Trump cheated and got caught in a money match, he'd get thrown out of any decent club. (I hear that he has played little at Winged Foot in recent years, and few members there will play a match with Trump.) But Trump's vanity handicap is just representative of Trump as an unserious liar, with no actual concern for the game itself.

...
First, I don't like any of the Clintons and never voted for one. Exactly how am I a "Clinton butt boy"?
Second, I expect that Trump never, ever plays anybody in any kind of a match anymore and if so, all of his opponents expect Trump to bend the Rules, to cheat, and that the whole thing is unserious.
As I say, I'd like to play Trump in a real match, with my real handicap, with a match referee watching Trump and keeping score. For something serious.
"Football on in the background yesterday. Seeing the antics of [black] players after a touchdown..."
They wouldn't last 2 minutes under Vince Lombardi.
Chuckie says
As I say, I'd like to play Trump in a real match, with my real handicap, with a match referee watching Trump and keeping score. For something serious.
11/24/17, 12:54 PM
Yeah, you wanted to beat up Greta van Sustern too, just to show her how it feels.
What a jerk.
As I say, I'd like to play Trump in a real match
Are you in your 70s, like Trump?
I cut people in their 70s a lot of slack. Because they've earned it.
"Ann, why do you use Flickr for your blog's photographs?"
Allow me to hazard a guess: Flickr offers a lot more display options, such as true "Full Screen," original sizing, and slide shows. Only in recent years has Blogspot even begun to catch up, sort of. Flickr is dedicated to photographs, with optional albums and a slew of additional photographic advantages - while Blogspot's emphasis is on text, thus remains in the visual dark ages.
This was especially true when Blogspot first became available - which if I remember correctly, couldn't handle photos properly or at all - back when you had to manipulate/tag the template directly. So the difference between Blogspot and Flickr was (is) night and day, literally.
Trump goes golfing and the stock market hits record highs. Trump goes golfing and foreign countries want to invest their money in the US, and hire US citizens. Trump goes golfing and unemployment is now very low. And, the best one: Trump goes golfing and heads explode.
Uh-OH,
Chuck gets no respect on the golf blog, either
"Chuck - if you think the USGA has handled this well, you're even simpler than I thought. You're in a minority of one. I've reffed on the European Tour. Have you done anything of note?"
Hahaha.
I know I'd rather have my fingernails pulled out by the roots than to go shopping on Black Friday. Is a 'bargain' really worth it? Not to me.
Go, Pitt, Go!
Don’t tell Chuck, but if Trump beats the Japanese and South Koreans ona golf bet, that is an Emoluments Clause violation.
I watched Trump hit balls from the back of the range at Doral a few years ago. His swing is homemade but he makes consistent contact and is surprisingly accurate. I haven't seen Chuck hit balls but Chuck seriously underestimates Trump's ability. I'd take Tump giving Chuck four a side based off Chuck's reputation alone.
PS regarding Flickr (Yahoo) vs. Blogspot (Google): Aside from the photographic advantages of Flickr - if nothing else - Flickr was used as a photo backup; if you lost Blogspot, you still had Flickr.
And ironically, several years ago Althouse almost lost this blog completely, much of it deleted (apparently by some wet-nosed liberal kid) and only recovered when Google/Blogspot became acutely aware that Ann was a major player in the wider blogosphere.
"Silent Coup" by Len Colodny is a good book (Amazon Althouse Portal)
In essence, John Dean was a lying weasel, and Bob Woodward was a stooge for General Akexander Haig.
The key take-home point isn't to exculpate Nixon, but to highlight that the Right (Joint Chiefs of Staff & CIA) drove Tricky Dick out as well.
Thank to james james for the Steely Dan comment far above. Best thing by far on this cafe thread.
He would walk the Ave carrying an electronic full-size keyboard, then sit and play.
Earl's on the Ave is a sports bar across the Ave from the U Book Store. Stop by, and buy Laslo a beer.
Is that salt water taffy they gave Althouse with her coffee?
I love salt water taffy, I am tea drinker but might start with coffee if taffy came with.
Weak point Chuck. If you wanted to go after a golf cheater Bill Clinton would have been your man from what I've heard.
I've seen Trump play on TV and I would guess he might be a single didget. I'm a 12 and proud of it. Cut him a bit of slack here.
Four more lying sluts accuse Clinton, since his presidency, they were in their late teens at the time, so it's all cool!
Anyway, just played 18 at the Raymond Floyd par three there in Lake Worth with my daughter. We drove past Mar a Lago on the way home, she flipped the place off, then flipped off Air Force One as we drove by the airport. Millenials hate Donnie, they also hate Franken, BTW, which is why I am praying he doesn't resign.
BTW, I play for the exercise and sunshine, so hopefully Chuck doesn't get too mad that I don't keep score. My daughter drops a ball near the green usually, and chips on and putts. I hope Chuck wouldn't get too mad. On that Raymond Floyd course, you could probably play the whole thing with a putter if you wanted.
"Cut [Trump] a bit of slack here."
Are you kidding? Chuck's on a mission.
I think we should all chip in and buy Chuck some golf balls, orange, of course, with Donnie Trump's face drawn on one side, and "Yuuuuge" stamped on the other. Every fifth or sixth one should explode with a lpop and a puff of orange smoke.

No. I got a life.
Trump is the best thing to happen to politics in this country since Reagan.
I watched Trump hit balls from the back of the range at Doral a few years ago. His swing is homemade but he makes consistent contact and is surprisingly accurate.
Back in the days when I played a lot of golf (I started when I wad 9), I was told, "Don't ever play for money with a guy with a bad swing."
They have figured it out and they will sand bag you every time. I'm trying to remember the pro with a bad swing from the 60s.
My former senior partner played in the Crosby pro-am every year, One year he played with Arnold Palmer and Lawrence Welk. Welk's swing was so bad that, after they played, Palmer went and took a lesson to get it out of his mind.
One year he played with Arnold Palmer and Lawrence Welk. Welk's swing was so bad that, after they played, Palmer went and took a lesson to get it out of his mind.
Palmer's swing was unorthodox. My father, who was also an excellent golfer, had a similar swing. Those were days before video analysis became popular. I always took too long a backswing and never really cured myself of it nor were instructors able to do so.
I used to play to a consistent 7-9,but was never a single digit ballstriker. I could get up and down from anywhere (from the parking lot, in golfers phraseology). Rotator cuff issues and surgery put me out of the game, but when I retire in 18 months I'll get back into it. I loved to play, but I'm not sure I'll enjoy it as much or as competitively as I used to. We'll see.
Bret Bielema just got canned. Too bad, so sad (not!).
This is the fictionAL version, the author was reputedly James grady:

The reviewers refer to James hougans precursor work.
I'm sorry to learn that Laslo may be taking hiatus. Take care Laslo, best of health to you and I hope you return. james james seems to have picked up the torch and is carrying it fairly well so far.
When are people like Chuck going to realize the criticism wasn’t the number of rounds but the number of rounds while the economy was underperforming, ISIS was taking territory, and the middle class was being holllowed out?
If you think Trump would be complaining about Obama’s golf rounds when he had the economy humming, ISIS on the run, and the middle class growing, I have a bridge to sell you.
The guy owns golf courses for Christ’s sake.
Every winter it seems there is a kid who comes into the bar, trying on some variation of the Bukowski lifestyle; usually he is wearing a thrift-shop pea coat, pretty much always with a Zippo lighter. Also: the ubiquitous wallet chain.
It is obvious that the lifestyle is too big for him: figuratively he looks like an eight-year-old girl tottering in momma's heels and pearls, lipstick smeared on her face.
Kid, you are too young for this. Your tattoos are new. You have no gravel: all of your disappointments in life have been small.
There are guys here who will take your money, there are guys here who will break you out back by the dumpsters, just because that is what they do for fun. If a girl here picks you, she will be the one with herpes, and she will take your wallet, chain or no.
Now, it is smart of you not to have hooked up with the heroin kids, so you obviously have some basic intelligence. Try a coffeeshop -- there's several along the street. Maybe try chatting up a girl who isn't drunk. There's nothing wrong with being two cute young kids who party a little on the weekends.

John Daly on the Rich Eisen Show talking about playing with Trump and Clinton:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBI3XZCD3Gk
snip:
Eisen: "Did you ever play with Trump?"
Daly: "Oh yeah. I've played with Trump a few times."
Eisen: "What's his game?"
Daly: "He hits it good."
Eisen: "He does?"
Daly: "He really does. He's a decent player."
Eisen: " A lot of people say the best stick in his (Trump) bag is his pencil, it that a true story?"
Daly: "Well, that's Clinton."
.....
Eisen: "Okay, so who would you say, would Bill or Donald, would be the one you would need to watch more on the golf course?"
Daly: "Oh, Bill, of course."
"Bowe Bergdahl Republican" Chuck devastatingly hardest hit. It's not surprising that Trumps criticism of obama would make Li'l Chuck come runnin' hard to obambi's defense.
And don't any of you dare link to the video of obama throwing a baseball like a 5 year old girl or link to the video of obama "the basketball player" missing about 20+ shots in a row.
That would likely drive our "Accidental Leftist" directly into therapy on this Thanksgiving Weekend!!
LOL
Here's a little story about obama slamming Bush over Katrina followed up by Obama playing golf during Hurricane Sandy.
https://www.redstate.com/brandon_morse/2016/08/19/obama-criticized-bush-flyover-golfing-louisiana-drowns/
Now, I know what you are thinking: Gee, with all that obama hypocrisy, surely a LLR like Chuck, whose always on the lookout for hypocrisy and would never allow party affiliation to keep him from criticizing the hypocrisy of any politician, would have offered up criticism then or mentioned it a later date, wouldn't he?
To that, I will simply say: LOL
Even now I'll bet our "Bowe Bergdahl Republican" is frantically searching for little rhetorical loophole which validates obamas hypocrisy and/or minimizes Clintons outright golf cheating.
'cuz if there is one thing our LLR contributor will not countenance, its criticism of dems.
Although, since its clear that Chucks operational allies on the far left are tossing the Clintons over, Chucky might feel just comfortable enough to offer up some mild tangential critique of Clinton.
After all, one has to maintain appearances.
http://money.cnn.com/2017/11/21/news/economy/unemployment-rate-jobs-goldman-sachs/index.html
Egads!
Unemployment predicted to fall to lowest level since 1969?!!
"Accidental Leftist" Chuck hardest hit. Not even Inga will be as depressed!
Even National Review notices some interesting things happening under Trump: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/453896/trump-separation-powers-his-administration-reining-its-own-powers
And LLR Chuck weeps.....
Anne Hathaway isn't going to win an oscar for Colossal, though not her fault.
It's an unactable plot.
She's #4 on my all-time Catwoman list. I've noticed that Oscar winners cannot play Catwoman. So if she wins an Oscar I might have to revisit my list, drop her down below Lee Meriwether. She might already be below Lee Meriwether. Actually, when I think about Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt my brain gets overheated and I have to rest.
Well Hathaway was closer to the actual character, both meriwether and newmar were camp and let's not even speak of Michelle Pfeiffer her worst pseformance since scarface.
I don't want to get into any of these Chuck-related scuffles--since we have been out of the Republican primary for a good fucking year now--but I will suggest that at least on this thread he is pulling your leg.
Also, all Republicans should read Deroy Murdock's excellent piece in NR and maybe forward it to your red and/or purple buddies.
Narciso, you might get away with that sort of nitwit analysis if we were comparing Batmans
and of course I agree that Pfeiffer's psycho feminist Catwoman is hands down the worst Catwoman
but never in a million years sir will I ever agree that Anne Hathaway somehow understands what makes Catwoman purr
you got to play the pussy if you're going to put on the suit
that's all I am going to say about that
"I always took too long a backswing and never really cured myself of it nor were instructors able to do so. "
When I was 15 I had a very long backswing but that was because I was so limber.
As I got older, my backswing got about a foot shorter every ten years.
I used to play with a guy who had a very short backswing and hit it a mile.
By the time I was 70, my drives were short but I hit it straight. That kept the scores low but finally my back gave out.
Saint Croix: "I don't want to get into any of these Chuck-related scuffles--since we have been out of the Republican primary for a good fucking year now--but I will suggest that at least on this thread he is pulling your leg."
Ha!
Yes, on Thanksgiving Weekend it is understandable that you would want to believe that.
Alas.....
As Catwomen go, I also vote Eartha Kitt.
They dont make them like that anymore.
buwaya; "As Catwomen go, I also vote Eartha Kitt."
Completely agree, though Julie Newmar was no slouch.
Well it's in keeping with the character until 1950, this is,where the camp element came into the series.
As far as I can tell
there is no Catwoman in Krazy Kat
so that was disappointing
I am very happy that we Catwoman aficionados have seized the thread from the golfers
I assume they are taking a nap right now
The Murdock piece in National Review is very good. NR was so clueless and indecisive in the primaries, though, that they actually, through inadvertence, helped Trump win the primary.
They are still wrestling with that. Baby steps.
Black widow is somewhat derivative of her, scarlets subsequent work has been uneven.
One Of the things that might have saved green lantern (not really) was blame lively in the star sapphire outfit.
Black widow is somewhat derivative of her
Yeah, if poisonous spiders that kill you while you sleep are sexy
although I grant you the costume is nice
scarlets subsequent work has been uneven.
I need to watch Atomic Blonde so I can decide if Charlize Theron could play Catwoman or not
probably!
How about Eva green, she's a bit more exotic for the American version.
I was thinking her part in the 300 sequel.
How about Eva green, she's a bit more exotic for the American version.
Ooh, good one!
On second thought, she's just way too hot for the role.
I feel like the biggest inspiration for Catwoman
is Mrs. Peel
BAG: "The Murdock piece in National Review is very good. NR was so clueless and indecisive in the primaries, ..."
Indeed. Only the cimplete idiots in the LLR camp remain unwilling to recognize that Trump is governing in a way that is a drwam come true for conservatives.
Yes probably, the avengers ran from 1962 on till around the time of the other series.
Diane Lane would have been a great Catwoman, back in the day
also maybe Madonna
If it's one thing I can do, it's cast Catwoman
although it would probably get me sued or fired right now
"he keeps trying to get me in leather pants!"
"what a perv!"
That was back in her streets of fire days or even around the time of the cotton club (who actually saw that film: raised hands)
Anyone remember the first Buffy film or alien tesurrection

@Drago,
Yeah, I buy that. Trump is certainly not a doctrinaire conservative. He is an unorthodox, imperfect messenger, but the "stuff" he is doing - counter-intuitively - is advancing the conservative cause.
Julie Newmar as Cat-Woman! Full stop. No further discussions. No dissenting points of view!
Broke the cat out of stir straight from the plane. He's giving his thanks over a can of tuna.
I just got back from the bar. Had a few drinks, watched the people. The day after Thanksgiving, so many of the kids are gone, home to family for the holiday.
While I was waiting for a drink I overheard three college girls in line debating on getting jello shots. The bartender came to get my drink, and then I also picked up six jello shots for the girls. When you are a regular who tips well, you can get served on the side. Which is nice.
The college girls brought the jello shots over to my table and thanked me. It was still early, so they weren't plastered yet. Plastered college girls: some nights it's funny, some nights it's depressing. Tonight, the night after Thanksgiving, seems like it would be depressing.
Yeah, I know: college girls. I'm older than they are, but not so old as to be the creepy guy. I keep clean, and pretty much act like a gentlemen. A lot of times they ask me if I teach at the University. So I guess that is what I look like.
I have no intentions for them, it is just a quick systems diagnostic. So there is small chat and some laughs; they laugh that way that most college girls do, a little too loud, a little horsey. Eventually one of them asks if I know where I can get them some coke. Yeah: it is a Friday night.
I tell them I don't currently know anyone who supplies -- a little white lie, that -- and besides: cocaine is not good for you.
The one girl laughs, and says it's not that big a deal.
Not a big deal. So I tell her that she could go down to Denny and ask one of the crack whores how many cocks she has to suck to get the money to get high.
The girls now looked dumbfounded and vaguely shaken: yes, I did just say that.
I then left for a smoke, and when I came back they had moved elsewhere. People get uncomfortable when you bring up crack whores.
I can't help it: I do things like that.

OK, done with my nap. Can we start talking about golf again?

The stories that could be told of riding below decks...
I thought my cat would enjoy a car ride. But he would poke his head up, and it would be like sensor overload, and he'd crawl under my feet.
This made it hard to operate the pedals, so I decided that the cat goes to the Vet when we travel. He like the Vet hotel.
Things have changed since I was betamax3000.
I will tell you this upfront: I am going to disappoint you.

pacwest: "OK, done with my nap. Can we start talking about golf again?"
No way, unless we owe you a conversational mulligan.....
Poor Chuck. He's probably still curled up in the fetal position after listening to John Daly say nice things about Trump and then ripping on Clinton!
One of the wurst films scarlet ever did was 2008's the spirit, where she wild costar with a really deranged Samuel jackson (how could you tell)

So ghost in the shell want the wurst.
The New York Times has the sads for the State Department swamp-people:
Diplomats Sound the Alarm as They Are Pushed Out in Droves
Sounds like Rex Tillerson is doing a good job in starting to clear out the partisan hacks.
Golf-gate could be the final straw...it ties in so well with the zeitgeist.
On the road again?
"On the road again?"
Since you asked, made it from Port Charlotte, FL to Columbia, SC yesterday. Which was a minor miracle considering the traffic disaster called Orlando. Hope to be back in PA late this afternoon.
I wish it were the IRS and NSA and CIA complaining so hard.
Sessions is methodically reshaping the Justice Department to reflect his nationalist ideology and hard-line views — moves drawing comparatively less public scrutiny than the ongoing investigations into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with the Kremlin.
So if you believe in borders, you are a nationalist, you know, like the "National Socialists" and as a nationalist, of course you believe that we should surrender control of our nation to the Russians. It's all so fucking simple!
What does Trump's golf game, or his taxes, for that matter, have to do with anything?
Don't recall seeing Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, but Julie Newmar? Oh, yes!
Why can't the bands on youtube doing covers learn the words to the songs?

So is this a Dr. Who thing, or an Invasion of the Body Snatchers thing?
