The previous post, about trypophobia, has a photograph of a lotus flower — the trypophobe's least-favorite flower — taken by somebody else. But I thought I had taken at least one good trypophobia-triggering photograph of a lotus.
Searching the archive for "lotus" — which only works if I wrote the word too — I found, at best, this...
... from 2012. But I tripped into "Let's not talk about philosophy while we're walking," a December 2006 post that only has "lotus" in it because I'm describing the scene in some unrecognizable café and mention that I'm sitting in a "modified lotus position."
They play this song, and I'm enjoying it. They get to this verse:I guess I wasn't alone. Where was I? Who was I with? I have no idea.
So, we went to the cinema, we came home from the cinemaAnd I say "I love this song" out loud.
We went through the front door, up the stairs,
Through the bedroom door, onto the bedroom floor
I’ve seen her naked twice, I’ve seen her naked twice!

An unrecognizable café? In 2006? Impossible. All cafés, post 1997, by regulation, required some measure of showy quirk and/or physical totem of affectation and/or well-placed object of descriptiveness. The FRIENDS Act.
Does your new music bookcase include the song? A few posts back, you had proposed a thought of going through the stacks and posting on this and that. Possibly a way to reduce tensions between the endless warring camps of Xs and Ys? Let people fight over other topics.
I presume you might start in the Ms or Vs. just not the Ds.....
Van Morrison had a song called "Philosophy" where one of the lines is:
"Its all over now, and all I see, is the lonely road,
And a memory, of daily walking....and talking..."

Click on the link. You can see the photographs. It is very distinctive. I just don't recognize it.
I saw the plant named Gabriel. That sounds like middling Quirk, in all its café glory. Evidently in a decade of coffeeshops, having a name card for the plant on the table doesnt inspire a patron's memory. They should have had artwork hanging from the ceiling fan.
The post before that you were with Chris, but it was a different location, and the picture was taken a couple of days before. But you did mention the modified lotus position
Must have been a thing you were into at the time. ( the mentioning, not necessarily the sitting )
If you follow the first picture to flicker, it is labeled Espresso Royale, which I assume is the name of the café, since the picture does not include a cup of coffee.
You arent really living up to your name, IIB.
~
Casino Royale was released that year. Maybe the coffeeshop is now rebranded as Espresso Mothers
I tried to find a video of Margaret Hamilton cackling "Poppies, Poppies," but no luck.
It must be a branch of Espresso Royale, but it just doesn’t look like any Espresso Royale I remember.
I swear this is true. To block out office noise yesterday and because I was tired, I wanted fast music on the headphones.
For the first time in three years, I listened to Art Brut!
They're great fun.
Art Brut, "Good Weekend," Sydney, December 16, 2007.
Full concert.
