Raid happened in July. Why wasn't this reported sooner? Manafort has neighbors.
Manafort will be the scapegoat. The new Scooter Libby.
No doubt an apologist for the John Doe investigations in Wisconsin.
Thorley beat me to it. I'm surprised at what a bellwether Wisconsin has been for the rest of the country. See it here (WI) first.
I like presidents who exceed 3% GDP
Mr. Manafort answered questions and provided investigators with notes from a 2016 meeting between Trump campaign officials and Russians claiming to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton.
Did the Russian's themselves ever make such a claim? I thought it was just the go between.
What if the FBI and the Federal Attorneys threw their best Police State tactics at a President and failed to remove him? The Establishment is in panic mode. The Twitter has neutralized their wholey owned Media. And Trump laughs.
I like presidents who don't get into a nuclear pissing match with lunatic dictators.
I think "Searched" in the headline is very soft for a pre-dawn raid on a guy who had been fully cooperative to that point. It makes it sound like they showed up and looked around, when instead it was an intimidation tactic.
Which is worse, the president whose campaign manager had his house raided and might be innocent? Or the presidential candidate herself who committed several known felonies?
Don't these people know how far Trump has to fall such that he can no longer be compared favorably to Hillary?
I like presidents that didn't sell missile technology to China for campaign contributions.
I like voters who accept election outcomes.
Most Americans still thrilled that the nightmare money grubbing fascist free-speech killing Lena Dunham supporting power-hungry she-liar is not president.
I like presidents that aren't rapists.
I like presidents that didn't force gun shops to sell guns to Mexican drug cartels.
I like voters who don't presume guilt.
I like journalists who actually try their best to be fair and objective.
The reason Trump is going to act now is because Kim has no nuclear force that reaches the USA, so we do not fear to act to take him out. This month that is. Next month maybe Kim will be ready, or Kim will already have attempted to get in the first fire on target.
I like presidents that didn't lie to congress in order to send pallets of cash to Iran.
Laslo is right. They will find someone to hang.
Funny, there was an actual candidate under FBI investigation during the campaign.
I've noticed that whenever anyone is elected President, someone associated with them has to go to jail. For BHO it was Rod Blagojevich. For GWB it was Ken Lay. For WJC it was Jim McDougal. For DJT, we don't know yet whether it will be Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, or some other person. But it will be someone.
I like Secretaries of State that didn't make hundreds of millions of dollars selling influence.
Also, might I add, I like presidents who provide all the documents requested of them during an investigation. When I read that Trump and his team had done that, I was surprised, considering how completely incompetent the government had been the last 8 years in responding to Congressional or other inquiries.
I mean, I'm not a huge Trump fan, but, this has to be a point in his favor.
Manafort quit the campaign on August 18, 2016 -- 2.5 months before the election.
So, how did he help the Russians throw the election? Inquiring minds want to know...
Manafort probably is guilty of doing what was totally legal when he did it. He interfered in The Ukrainian game of thrones. They will pretend once a Russian consultant, always a Russian consultant hoping he cuts a deal and implicates Trump as a co-paid agent of Russia.
But DJT has Twitter.
I like presidents that didn't stonewall multiple investigations, claim executive privilege, and have AG's held in contempt of congress.
On Monday, I read in a supermarket tabloid -- National Enquirer or something similar -- that RussiaGate investigators found that Manafort had a mistress half his age. He is 68, and she (as I recall) is 33 years old. The tabloid reported that Manafort has been going to counseling because of a sexual addiction.
Evidently, the FBI has returned to the sexual-blackmail tactics that made the FBI notorious when J. Edgar Hoover was the FBI Director.
Any Trump associate who refrains from providing evidence against Trump will be not only be prosecuted for "process crimes" (quibbling to an investigator) but also will be exposed for any and all of his sexual misdeeds.
It's Scott Walker all over again.
I like presidents that weren't impeached for being convicted of committing perjury and disbarred.
We don't need no steenkin' trials no more?
A FBI raid will do, and the case is settled! 97% of pundits say so!
I like political parties that don't rig their primaries.
I dunno, ARM. Should he wait until a North Korean nuclear missile incinerates San Francisco before Trump takes action? (Side question: should Nancy Pelosi be allowed to serve in Congress if her district is a nuclear wasteland?)
I recall that Bill Clinton tried to prevent North Korea from developing a nuclear program but the village idiot from Plsins, Georgia, made an unauthorized trip to Pyongyang and negotiated an empty agreement that did nothing to impede their development of nuclear weapons. Add in eight years of a president with a pathetically weak foreign policy (who was his Secretary of State, again?) and here we are. Diplomatic niceties don't seem to work with this guy. Maybe Trump's approach will. If it doesn't, then I assert that nuclear war was eventually inevitable after Carter's trip in 1994.
While the raid itself was reported by Fox News, did anyone see this story reported elsewhere?
Not sure of the veracity.
FBI Raids Abedin Family Home, Finds Hillary Clinton’s “Lost” e-Mails
By Paul Ebeling on June 5, 2017
The believed lost e-Mails belonging to former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were recovered on 1 June when special agents of the FBI raided a home in Dearborn, MI, owned by a shell company belonging to Hillary’s Top aide Huma Abedin’s brother and sister.
According to a bulletin, during the afternoon of 1 June, SVR intelligence analysts reported that a specialized team of FBI special agents and US Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors left Washington DC en route to Dearborn, where upon landing they traveled by a convoy to a multi-family home located at 7246 Jonathon St that they immediately raided stating to the local press that they were “investigating a matter of national security” and further saying that: “There’s no threat to public safety in the area, so folks don’t need to be concerned about any dangerous situation.”
This Jonathon Street home in Dearborn, the bulletin continues, is owned by a subsidiary shell corporation established by the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs that’s long been known as a Abedin Family business where Huma Abedin’s brother, Hassan Abedin, and her sister, Heba Abedin, are employed.
Read down the article, and it says that the agents seized materials that Manafort already had provided copies of.
How does this work? Do Manafort and his lawyers still get free access to these materials?
Achilles says he's against the uniparty, but he saves his heaps of slag for the dems. It appears that he is really a covert propaganda machine for GOPe. Perhaps Achilles is one of Chuck's sock-puppets, or vice versa
Rush is right now griping about how "...this is a leak! Another leak!"
The presumption -- I presume! -- being that this was a leak that was leaked by deep-state opponents of Donald Trump...
And that would be based on, what exactly?
What we know for sure is that it was not "leaked" when it happened. It was "leaked" only after a lot more people outside of the FBI and DoJ found out about it. Other lawyers, other parties, etc.
Anybody know why Rush thinks he's entitled to complain about any leaking in this case?
"AReasonableMan said...

Let's back up a little:
“I was determined to prevent North Korea from developing a nuclear arsenal, even at the risk of war,” Bill Clinton wrote in his memoirs. He decided to change course after receiving “a sobering estimate of the staggering losses both sides would suffer if war broke out.”
Before North Korea had nuclear weapons, the anticipated casualty count in the event of a renewed conflict on the peninsula was in the hundreds of thousands. Instead of war, Clinton chose the Agreed Framework, promising billions of dollars in aid for a North Korean nuclear freeze.
“This is a good deal for the United States,” he said at the time. “North Korea will freeze and then dismantle its nuclear program. South Korea and our other allies will be better protected. The entire world will be safer as we slow the spread of nuclear weapons.” How'd that work out.
OK, so now what ARM? And oh, you be saying the same thing to GOP POTUS somebody in a few years about fucking Iran.
This story purports to throw water on the Abedin raid theory.
Separating fact from internet fiction in FBI raid at Dearborn home.
The Obama Administration's meddling in Ukrainian politics blew up in its face.
After pro-Russian Viktor Yanukovych won the Ukrainian Presidential election in 2009 -- he won it fairly according to international observers -- Ukrainian zealots resisted his governance by protesting continuously in Kiev. The Obama Administration supported those protests, which eventually pushed Yanukovych out of office in 2014.
All the Russians in Ukraine who had voted Yanukovych into office decided that their votes in Ukraine were worthless. That is why Russian-majority Crimea succeeded and why Russian-majority Donbass is trying to succeed from Ukraine.
Therefore, the dismemberment of Ukraine can be blamed to a significant extent on the Obama Administration's meddling in Ukrainian politics. Instead of encouraging Ukrainian zealots to resist the elected government, the Obama Administration should have admonished them to accept the results of the 2009 election.
Manafort worked for Yanukovych, the legitimately elected President of Ukraine.
Obama, in contrast, was using his CIA and the rest of his Intelligence Community to undermine Yanukovych.
Since Yanukovych has been overthrown, Obama's Intelligence Community (now the Deep State) has been truying to ruin Manafort's life, because Manafort worked for Yanukovych.
The main agency working to ruin Manafort's life in the recent years has been the FBI. Using its traditional and notorious methods, the FBI has been exerting sexual blackmail on Manafort, threatening to expose all his sexual misdeeds unless he agrees to provide evidence against our President Trump.
All this surely will be covered up by Robert "The FBI White-Washer" Mueller.
So you think that if a Special Prosecutor had been sicced on Hillary that he wouldn't have raided John Podesta's home?
EDH,
I tried a streetview seach for 7246 Jonathon in Dearborn. I don't think it exists. I found 7242 and 7250 but not 7246.
Here is the article about Paul Manafort and his mistress, published in National Enquirer.
http://www.nationalenquirer.com/photos/paul-manafort-sex-scandal-mistress/
This salacious information is being leaked either by Obama hold-overs in the FBI or by the current team of Robert "The FBI White-Washer" Mueller.
This is how people were pressured by the FBI in the days of J. Edgar Hoover and in the days in which we are living now.
Mueller and his crew of Trump-hating lawyers are determined to remove our President Trump from office. They are going to get his tax returns and release them to the public. And they are going to sexually embarrass a lot of Trump associates.
"So you think that if a Special Prosecutor had been sicced on Hillary that he wouldn't have raided John Podesta's home?"
-- Given that Clinton's team admitted to destroying subpoenaed evidence and nothing happened to them, no. No I do not believe his home would have been raided.

The National Enquirer is Trump's house journal.
I repeat: "Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime." Lavrentiy Beria, KGB.
The key to stopping this bullshit is a good offense. Sessions needs to grow a pair and:
- Demand Senate confirmation of waiting DOJ appointments or request recess appointments from Trump.
- Subpoena reporters before a GJ to identify criminal leakers or charge reporters with Misprision under 18USC4.
- Interrogate Mueller's staff, perhaps polygraph, to determine who is leaking GJ information in violation of Rule 6 and DOJ policy.
- Vet Mueller's button men with thorough background checks.
- Announce publically that outside investigators will be used until public confidence in the integrity of the FBI is restored.
- Announced a GJ investigation of Possible Obstruction of Justice during Hillary eMail investigation.
- Announce a civil rights investigation into the murder of Seth Rich.
And so on. But you have to love a fight.

No. He should act like a grown man, not a dim-witted teenager swinging his dick around on a New Jersey golf course.
AReasonableMan said... I like presidents who don't get into a nuclear pissing match with lunatic dictators.
Sadly, it is too late for that. It is either the pissing match or surrender, and all the surrender part will accomplish is make the pissing match worse 10 years down the line.
Iran will be even more fun.
"Funny, there was an actual candidate under FBI investigation during the campaign."
Yes, Trump was under investigation by the FBI during the campaign. The FBI opened an investigation of Trump and his campaign in July of 2016.
Manafort is an outsider and has no friends. He is indeed a very likely "fall guy."
Manafort worked for Yanukovych, the legitimately elected President of Ukraine.
Manifort is an ordinary hard working influence peddler who does a terrific job helping disadvantaged world leaders like Mobutu Sese Seko in Zaire, Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines and of course, Viktor Yanukovych So unfair!
"No. He should act like a grown man, not a dim-witted teenager swinging his dick around on a New Jersey golf course."
Whats the difference?
No, really, whats the difference? Down deep we are all that dim-witted teenager.
Most people acquire a perhaps excessive degree of internal social controls (along with experience and perspective, which are not the same things).
The greater effect of that internal suppression is to crush creativity, in oneself and in everyone else. One creates the proverbial boxes outside of which you are not permitted to think.
"Manifort is an ordinary hard working influence peddler "
Washington is full of such influence peddlers. They are lobbyists and consultants.
They work for all sides, and for every sort of client.
Singling Manafort out for his clients is unfair.
Knowing what the lobbying business is like (and I'm sure you do) while singling out Manafort is disingenuous and deceptive.
Manafort was cooperating with the Senate committee. Why would a judge permit an early morning raid for a cooperative witness?
Does any civilized country do these pre-dawn raids? Does any civilized country tolerate these "special" prosecutors? Does any civilized public stand for the abuse of of "law enforcement" for blatantly political purposes? Does any civilized country give as much discretion to prosecutors at all?
Big Mike: "I dunno, ARM. Should he wait until a North Korean nuclear missile incinerates San Francisco before Trump takes action?"
If it did happen ARM and his pals will be claiming, as they did with W, that the republican President was actually in on it.
The Republican President is always a swashbuckling sabre-rattling over-reacting moron right up until something occurs at which point the storyline automatically changes to how the republican was asleep at the switch and oblivious of the threat and then the storyline morphs into how the Republican President actually Let It Happen/Made It Happen on purpose.
Without fail.
"Does any civilized country do these pre-dawn raids?"
-- There are legitimate reasons for them; against a non-violent person who is fully co-operating with investigators is not one of them.
"The Republican President is always a swashbuckling sabre-rattling over-reacting moron right up until something occurs at which point the storyline automatically changes to how the republican was asleep at the switch and oblivious of the threat and then the storyline morphs into how the Republican President actually Let It Happen/Made It Happen on purpose."
-- I always think that they view Republicans in power as Schrodinger's Moron.
antiphone: "Manifort is an ordinary hard working influence peddler who does a terrific job helping disadvantaged world leaders like Mobutu Sese Seko in Zaire, Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines and of course, Viktor Yanukovych So unfair!"
This just in, there exist consultants in DC for hire by foreign governments to represent their interests!
Or maybe antiphone believes this only began in parallel with the Trump campaign.
Again, to be a solid leftist, you really have to accept that history began anew this morning and nothing (except very bad America, Republican "stuff") happened prior.
In this very thread you have Unknown throwing out, once again, the already debunked claim that Trump himself was under investigation during the campaign.
But then again, these are the same lefties, like Cook, who claim Reagan consprired with the Ayatollahs and W Bush conspired with the Bin Ladens.
Same old same old.
BTW, the Venezuelan leftists have established a Truth Commission, LOL. Precisely what our leftists want to create here.
Unexpectedly.

- Announce a civil rights investigation into the murder of Seth Rich.
According to Seymour Hersh, the FBI has known since the summer of 2016 that Seth Rich provided the DNC e-mails to Wikileaks.
https://consortiumnews.com/2017/08/08/a-new-twist-in-seth-rich-murder-case/
If so, then what has been the justification for the FBI's never-ending RussiaGate investigation?
The bogus investigation has been a pretext for the FBI to do opposition research for the Democrat Party about Trump and all his associates who have any relationship at all to Russia:
* Traveled in Russia
* Did business with Russians
* Had Russian acquaintances
* Watched RT television broadcasts
Any such associate of Trump can be investigated with all resources and methods of the US Intelligence Community, in particular of the FBI.
That's why the FBI's knowledge about Seth Rich will be kept in a black hole, never revealed to the public, until after Trump is removed from office.
@Mike Sylvester,
You are a national treasure! Thanks for all your insights on this topic.
Consortium News, as good of a source as Info Wars!
The problem with the FBI is that they have lost all credibility with the bulk of the public, and I believe I can include Democrats in there too.
Its been building since the left has been selling the FBI as a US right-wing NKVD going back to the 1930's, and has been the left wing consensus ever since. Add that tradition to the building right wing mistrust of the agency due to all those dogs that didn't bark since the Clinton days, and especially the Obama administration.
The ridiculous spectacle of Comey last year was the last straw. The general consensus is that they are simply a political tool.
"I like presidents who don't get into a nuclear pissing match with lunatic dictators."
I like presidents who don't give their blessings to Iran's nuclear program and an additional 1.5 billion bucks as seed money.

How about draining the swamp? Did Trump run on a business as usual platform? It sure looks like Trump cronies can be up to their necks in international corruption without a second thought about whether their core supporters will care. They know you well.
I wonder if they Plan to abort one baby or more.
Manafort will be the scapegoat. The new Scooter Libby.
That does seem to be a reasonable prediction of where the baby hunt is progressing.
"It sure looks like Trump cronies can be up to their necks in international corruption without a second thought about whether their core supporters will care."
-- What corruption? We know simply doing business with Russia isn't considered de facto corruption, given Podesta's close ties to the country. So... what corruption, exactly, are Trump cronies involved in?
During the years of J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI was headed by people who were politically rightist, whose main interest was in investigating Communists and mobsters.
Now, in contrast, the FBI is headed by people who are politically leftist, whose main interest is in investigating capitalist corporations, racial and sexual discriminators, and any police officer anywhere who has shot an African-American.
We know simply doing business with Russia isn't considered de facto corruption, given Podesta's close ties to the country.
Oh, is that the test? If Podesta did it it's ok?
My comment at 12:19 has a link to Transparency International about Victor Yanukovych and corruption. Perhaps Mike Sylvester will explain to us how TI is part of the leftist conspiracy.
"I like presidents who don't give their blessings to Iran's nuclear program and an additional 1.5 billion bucks as seed money."
North Korea couldn't afford their nuclear program without a sponsor. That sponsor is presumed to be Iran, which has big bucks to throw around, thanks to Barry. Talk about collusion with the enemy! His home is the one that should be raided, since we don't know all the secret side deals he made with a country whose mission is to destroy us. He did it hoping they'll just destroy Israel, but it's not working out that way, is it Barry? Oh well, it's just our chickens coming home to roost.
Oh, is that the test? If Podesta did it it's ok?
Since Podesta seems to get by with it, yes, that is the test.
Mike Sylvester asserts: Now, in contrast, the FBI is headed by people who are politically leftist, whose main interest is in investigating capitalist corporations, racial and sexual discriminators, and any police officer anywhere who has shot an African-American.
Yes, it's a sad state of affairs. They don't even go after the Mob anymore.
No; the point is that there is perfectly legitimate business done by lots of people with Russia. And thus far, there's been no actual evidence of corruption put forward.
So, I'm asking: What corruption are you accusing Trump cronies of? This Ukraine stuff? Other stuff? Or is it just that we'll find out when the investigation is over?
The FBI, then and now, was and is run by people whose first concern is the Agency.
I question the timing
Why now, 2 weeks later do we find out about this?
Why early morning? And how early. 7 am before he leaves the house? I could u Desta do that.
3am no,
John Henry
"Why now, 2 weeks later do we find out about this?"

Apparently so.

A couple of us wondered why, if the search took place 2 weeks ago, and WaPo knew it at the time, it is coming out now?
Could this be the reason?
By Ed Klein | Tuesday, 08 Aug 2017 12:24 PM
The Justice Department has reopened the investigation of Hillary Clinton's mishandling of classified material on her private email system while she was secretary of state, and is considering offering her a plea bargain if she will agree to plead guilty to charges of breaking the law, according to a Clinton attorney.
The discussion of a plea bargain took place late last month and was offered by a high-ranking Justice Department official to the Clinton lawyer.
...
Under the Justice Department's plea offer, Hillary would be required to sign a document admitting that she committed a prosecutable crime. In return, the DOJ would agree not to bring charges against Hillary in connection with the email probe.
https://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/ed-klein-hillary-plea-bargain/2017/08/08/id/806488/
So what is Newsmax and who is Ed Klein? Is he the one who wrote a book on Hilary? Is Nesmax generally reliable?
If this is a real story, then Manafort did manage to push it off Drudge.

Brookzene,
I thought I saw that WaPo knew at the time of the raid but I could be wrong on that.
Let's say they didn't and just found out today. Why did it take 2 weeks to leak? Who leaked it?
And why now? Just coincidence?
Note also that the Crooked Hillary plea bargain info was not leaked by an unidentified source. It was an on-the-record statement by a "Clinton lawyer". S/he was unnamed but it would probably not be that hard to figure out which one.
That makes it, to me, a bit more believable than the "sources say" leaked story.

It's not right to speculate on why something happened if you don't know that it actually happened.
Could your words be any more meaningless? "For the time being?" You mean until they agree with you or unless they disagree with you? Really going out on a limb there.
Yup, for the time being. Why should I commit to adhering to congress's judgment no matter what. That's pretty much how I came to terms with Bush's election; I knew I would probably accept the SCOTUS decision regardless, but in the event that they came back with reasoning that I couldn't accept for one reason or another, I refrained from a full-throated endorsement. As it was their reasoning probably was wrong but I made my decision to respect the Court as it was their call to make.

In this case we DO know that something actually happened.
We DO know that the raid happened 2 weeks ago but only became public today.
So it seems right to speculate on who sat on it for 2 weeks and why.
Your mileage may vary. Especially if it keeps unfavorable coverage of Crooked Hillary out of the media, right?

Brookzene: "I accepted the election outcomes,..."
Oh, so you're the one democrat who did.
I believe most Democrats accepted the legitimacy of the election. They can't overlook the fact Trump's proven over and over before and since that he's not fit for the presidency.
ARM: "No. He should act like a grown man, not a dim-witted teenager swinging his dick around on a New Jersey golf course."
Yes. Rather than emulate those notorious Republicans Truman and Clinton.
OTOH, there might be some advantage to dick swinging that has escaped ARM, the resident foreign policy expert.
So it seems right to speculate on who sat on it for 2 weeks and why.
Sure that's fair. You were writing as if you wanted to know why WAPO had it and sat on it for two weeks and you wanted to know why, without actually knowing that they had it. Maybe they just found out about it.
Again I don't know if WAPO had it or not, but apparently you don't either. So it seems ridiculous to me to look at nefarious reasons why WAPO didn't tell us about it earlier. YMMV also.
I believe most Democrats accepted the legitimacy of the election. They can't overlook the fact Trump's proven over and over before and since that he's not fit for the presidency.
Which they will not. Republicans in Congress know that if they try to remove Trump for anything other than an impeachable offfence (of which we've seen not a whiff of evidence), they'll all be out of a job soon. Assuming it doesn't kick off a civil war. They're crooked but they're not suicidal.
I would like to know why the head of Fusion GPS didn't have an early morning raid, given that Manafort has cooperated and Fusion has, most assuredly, not.
Funny, he didn't see a need to involve us, at all, with the protests in Iran....
The terms "collusion" and "corruption" keep getting bandied about, but they do not exist in the criminal code. Bribing a public official is a crime (though Hilary found clever ways around it with her foundation) but no one has mentioned bribery. Planting "fake news" is something the dems and media are professionals at, but this isn't a crime either. We know ballot boxes weren't hacked. What exactly are they investigating Manafort for? And this armed raid is very scary. Are they going to do an armed raid on Trump's staff next? Indeed does sound like Wisconsin.
Speaking of the "armed raid", CL,
I think we can assume that FBI agents are armed with their normal sidearms. I think they even wear those when taking a shower.
But I wonder who exactly went in the door? Was it agents in suits and ties? Or was it an FBI SWAT team dressed in black ninja outfits? With jackboots? With M-16s or other long weapons?
I am not that happy about the 1st, though I think the problem is Mueller and the judge more than the agents. I would be very unhappy if it were the latter.
Why, they would like like jackbooted Fascist (or fascist) thugs!

Brookzene: "I believe most Democrats accepted the legitimacy of the election."
LOL
Wrong.
Hilariously wrong.
Most democrats actually believe that Putin changed vote totals, as has been discussed on this site numerous times.
I repeat: Most democrats believe Putin actually changed vote totals.
Oh, I get it. This is the point where the lefties/"lifelong republicans" pretend to be unaware of widely reported material so as to avoid the obvious implications.
chuck:
Anybody know why Rush thinks he's entitled to complain about any leaking in this case?
I dunno. 25 million listeners ?
I like presidents who had campaign managers that didn't have their homes raided.
Someone who voted for a Obama wrote that comment? Obama, let us not forget, was closely tied to Tony Rezko and Bill Ayres, the first a convicted chiseler, the second an admitted, but unconvicted, domestic terrorist. Together Rezko and Ayres launched Obama's political career. Obama's boss at his first lawyer job was Alison Davis. Davis was a business partner of Tony Rezko. Davis, supposed to be the Daley dynasty's connection to the Chicago Black community, left the law firm of Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland when he was appointed to the Illinois State Board of Investment by impeached and disgraced Illinois governor Rod Blagojovich. The Illinois State Board of Investment oversees the investments of the Illinois state pension system. Blago, later convicted of corruption for trying to sell Obama's vacated senate seat (among other criminal activity), appointed Davis to the post at the request of Tony Rezko.
I am sure no money changed hands.

Do you have any data for that or are you just pulling it out of your butt and calling contrary opinions "hilariously wrong". Because you are somewhat of a blowhard with your opinions.
Let me know if you have anything to support your contention.
Brookzene,
A moments googling brought up this headline.
"YouGov Poll: 52% Of Democrats Believe Russia Tampered With The Vote Totals To Get Trump Elected President"
I don't recall any Democrat or lefty here ever saying the vote totals were tampered with by Putin.
"YouGov Poll: 52% Of Democrats Believe Russia Tampered With The Vote Totals To Get Trump Elected President"
I believe Russia tampered with the election (not the vote totals) to get Trump elected President, but I don't necessarily believe that they were successful in changing the outcome. I think that's probably where most Democrats are on this.
The headline about the YouGov poll doesn't necessarily mean a majority of Democrats believe the election was illegitimate.
The way to end abuses of power is to abrogate official immunity. Let Mueller and his gang post bonds or otherwise face personal liability for their actions that exceed their authority, like raiding the house of presidential official's houses on pretexual reasons.
Confronted with a Left leaning YouGov poll, Brookzene refuses to accept reality... while claiming to accept election results.
Good irony.
Did they find anything for use in a criminal investigation in their raid of Manafort's home?? If not, then Mueller needs to be held personally, financially liable. He should be able to afford it given the million-dollar job he got after leaving government service, according to WashPost. What's up with that, by the way?
Mark: No, they did not, unless all the reports are wrong about Manafort having already given them all relevant documents.

How?
By releasing DNC emails? Not forged emails, just real, actual, emails dems were sending back and forth to each other.
Is that how you believe they tampered?
Or maybe you think they did something else. Care to share?
And why would they want to get DJT elected? Everything he said he would do and everything he has done has been bad for them. How are they benefitting?
You aren't really even trying anymore, are you, Brookzene?

I don't understand this. From the beginning I accepted the election results. What's with this "claiming to accept election results"?
I gave you my explanation on the YouGov poll (who the hell are they anyway?). I assume you can't read, or you can't think, or you can't explain why you think my stand is wrong. It's Althouse comments, what else is new?

I get it. You don't wanna believe. Fine. We've seen a lot of denial from your side. Not unexpected nor is it coherent.
Mark: No, they did not, unless all the reports are wrong about Manafort having already given them all relevant documents.
Just wondering, how would "all the reports" know anyway, unless they were based on what Manafort said?
"The headline about the YouGov poll doesn't necessarily mean a majority of Democrats believe the election was illegitimate."
First of all, legitimacy is not the issue for which you requested supporting evidence. Second, if you care about the issue more than just trying to show up Drago, I showed you the way to find out more. So which is it, honest interest or showboating.
Third, if Drago shows up again I think you owe him an apology for the "blowhard" snark.
Finally, don't bother arguing with me about this. I just happened to believe that Drago was correct in this instance, and found the supporting information you requested. That's all
Third, if Drago shows up again I think you owe him an apology for the "blowhard" snark.
WTF is this bullshit? Drago said that I was the "one" Democrat who accepted the results of the election. Don't lecture me about the blowhard, chum.
First of all, legitimacy is not the issue for which you requested supporting evidence.
Brookzene: "I accepted the election outcomes,..."
Drago: Oh, so you're the one democrat who did.
Yeah, I think accepting the legitimacy of the election was what the dispute was about. But you, a tourist or a troll to the discussion, want to define it otherwise. No wonder you end your posts "Don't bother arguing with me about this." Why not just say "I don't want to hear any of that smartass reason stuff."
It's my belief the majority of Democrats accepted the legitimacy of the election, even though the majority also properly understand the Russians tried to alter it.
It's my belief that the majority of Republicans believe there were millions of illegal voters in the 2016 election.
One of these beliefs is stupid. Hint: our intelligence community is far from stupid.
Anybody know why Rush thinks he's entitled to complain about any leaking in this case?

What did they do? Second time I am asking you this.
I keep hearing folks like you saying this, none of you can ever say how.
John Henry
Brookzene: "It's my belief the majority of Democrats accepted the legitimacy of the election, even though the majority also properly understand the Russians tried to alter it. "
Your "understanding" is another ridiculous lie.
A majority of Dems believe Putin changed vote totals.
A majority of Dems believe that.
A majority.
But then again, you already knew that, notwithstanding your feeble attempts to spin that.
How?
What did they do? Second time I am asking you this.
I only know what the intelligence community tells us - ask them. Or ask your congressional representatives, regardless of their party they almost certainly understand and believe it to be true. Myself I'm not really interested in the details and how they did it. Do a little research if you are interested or if it will help you to understand the 2016 elections and current investigations of the Trump campaign.
A majority of Dems believe Putin changed vote totals.
A majority of Dems believe that.
A majority.
So? Don't get me going on what majorities of the GOP believe. And I repeat, believing that vote totals were changed somewhere is not equivalent to believing the election was illegitimate, or that the Russians actually changed the outcome from one candidate winning to the other.
Nikki Haley's spokesperson just resigned. Apparently her CoS is out the door as well. Just a fyi.
I believe Russia tampered with the election (not the vote totals) to get Trump elected President, but I don't necessarily believe that they were successful in changing the outcome. I think that's probably where most Democrats are on this. "
Please explain in a coherent and logical way this statement of yours.
If the vote itself wasn't tampered how was the election tampered? If the Russians weren't able to manipulate enough rubes to vote for Trump how did Trump win unless there were already enough rubes who were going to vote for Trump without Russian tampering?
Brookzene: "And I repeat, believing that vote totals were changed somewhere is not equivalent to believing the election was illegitimate, or that the Russians actually changed the outcome from one candidate winning to the other."

How? Podesta clicked on a Phish mail. The DNC emails were downloaded locally and Seth Rich was fingered by numerous sources.
This is a giant pile of horseshit they are pedaling to keep people from tearing down the DNC for rigging the primary and only idiots are buying into it.
It's my belief that the majority of Republicans believe there were millions of illegal voters in the 2016 election.
We have evidence for our beliefs. You don't.
One of these beliefs is stupid. Hint: our intelligence community is far from stupid.
The same intel community you wanted o have arrested for waterboarding prisoners? The same intel community you accused of lying about WMD's in Iraq?
You people are a joke. You will tell yourselves any lie or switch to any belief that will get you into power.

An honest statement from a tool. A dumb pawn. A cad. A person who will believe the party that screwed Bernie out of the nomination in anything they say.
To be honest as long as the democrats have enough idiots like you they will continue to be so corrupt most thinking americans will not vote for them and they will continue to lose elections.
In which I note irony and you miss the point while criticizing my reading comprehension.
What cures an irony overdose?
"I like presidents who don't get into a nuclear pissing match with lunatic dictators."
Wow; someone who doesn't like presidents Truman, Reagan or Kennedy!
I like intelligent agencies who raid ALL homes that should be raided such as Hillarys, the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, ect..... I don't care about Manafort, but at least look like you are not biased....
If the vote itself wasn't tampered how was the election tampered? If the Russians weren't able to manipulate enough rubes to vote for Trump how did Trump win unless there were already enough rubes who were going to vote for Trump without Russian tampering?
Let's find out from the Mueller and congressional investigations shall we?
I like intelligent agencies who raid ALL homes that should be raided such as Hillarys, the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, ect..
We should go by Breitbart's list of whose homes and computers should be searched.

Isn't Wisconsin where they had John Doe raids of supporters of Scott Walker? People were supposed to think the conservatives were up to something sinister. Turned out the sinister ones were the cops. Maybe a few cops should get fired for real like this.
Link?

Both Jonathan Wachtel, her spokesman, and Steven Groves her CoS, both resigned apparently yesterday.
Here's the addy for the Bloomberg Politics story:

So people left a job? And that is a news story.
I only know what the intelligence community tells us - ask them.
Can't think of a more trustworthy group of folks whose pronouncements I'm totally ready to accept at face value in the absence of evidence.
