Please let us know if this is somebody's cat. Apologies if I missed that. Thanks!
Hey, that cat looks like Ted Nugent.
If there had been a bell on that cat you wouldn't have had any service berries to eat the other day.
You and Meade could start another animal photo blog, this time based on pictures of cats in your garden. Call it Puss n Roots.
That looks like my cat.
The first photo. That is the look my cat had when he was trying to break into a loaf of bread.

Ok kitty.

And could this be construed as an action against the other adjuncts? If only we had a retired law prof here to answer such questions.
That's a good looking cat. I am currently fighting with my neighbour and her cat always comes into my yard. I'm not sure if I have to dislike her cat now. Anybody know the protocol?
Stalking? Stalking! Please stop othering felines with your homosapiel privilege. Are you some kind of felinophobe? The cat is simply expressing its cultural heritage, you Ape!

Snark, the cats owns the human, not the other way around. Cultivate a relationship with the cat and it will get the human in line.
Our German Shepard pup has been attempting to stalk our 10 year old tenured cat. They went nose-to-nose at one point. The cat, with great restraint, gave him the yellow card. Keeping them apart has been a chore as the cat seems to surface out of nowhere. This may not end well.
My cat ripped open a bag of wheat gluten a few weeks ago. Obviously not something he would want to eat. Why, cat, why?
Be wary of weeding. I was exposed to toxoplasmosis while weeding a flower bed my neighbor's cat used for a litter box.
"My cat ripped open a bag of wheat gluten a few weeks ago. Obviously not something he would want to eat. Why, cat, why?"
Curiosity, or it smelled a mouse that had gotten into the wheat gluten at some point before packaging it...ew.
If it moves, it must die.
"Why, cat, why?"
Revenge for a future slight. But mostly because it was crinkly and felt good to murder it.
I'm seeing cats all over the Interwebs right now. Looks like a conspiracy.
How to tell if the Left is serious about Russian Hacking:
...the number of times they propose a return to paper ballots.
So far, that number is zero.
I can't tell if that cat's coat is "blotched" or "mackerel".

On Netflix - 1898:Los Ultimos de Filipinas (Salvador Calvo 2016)
This was a surprise I just found on Netflix.
Who would have thought it would show up there?
Spanish movies are rarely shown on US venues.
Ultimos de Filipinas is an interesting film, actually something of a remake of the original from 1945.
The old "Ultimos" is a true Spanish film classic, the equivalent of a vintage John Ford movie, "Fort Apache" say, or more in the spirit of the thing, "They Were Expendable". But more so - "ultimos de Filipinas" became a byword for stragglers or late-partiers, and its theme song, the habanera "Yo te dire", became a repertoire classic of its own.
The subject of course is the 11-month siege of Baler (then Tayabas, now Quezon), where 50 Spanish soldiers held their post for 11 months against overwhelming odds. They even held out for eight months after Spain had agreed to a ceasefire with the US and surrendered its Philippine garrisons. The garrison at Baler, under siege by Filipinos and cut off, did not get the word and kept fighting long after the war was over (or the Spanish part of the war anyway).
More of the history is here.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Baler
Interestingly this otherwise minor incident has been the subject of no less than three feature films, the two Spanish ones of 1945 and 2016, and a rather second-rate Filipino one from 2008.
This new film is well produced, well shot, well researched, well-acted (by my lights), and though shot in Africa they have gotten the Philippine look very very close to reality. It smells right to me, a native. They even have Filipino actors and extras, or they look like them well enough, though like the original, the Filipinos are treated as a mainly faceless set of opponents, the focus being on the Spanish protagonists.
Like all of these films, this is a grunts-eye view of the conflict, with, on the whole, a very believable take on how things went down, in many ways more so than the original. The original for instance had to have a love-interest stuck in there in the form of Nani Fernandez as the sympathetic native girl (who sings "Yo te dire").
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=traod1KvNss
The new one keeps the girl, and parts of "Yo te dire", as a homage I suppose, but to different and more realistic effect.
I am a sucker for colonial movies, being a colonial creature, and this subject especially, as my great grandpa was one of those Cazadores (Chasseurs, Jager) as were at Baler. These were Spanish conscripts organized in provisional counter-insurgency battalions and sent far, far out East to suppress the Philippine Revolution.
If you have Netflix, have a look.
Anyway, we are back in San Francisco.

So much winning! The workers at Carrier in Indiana have had about enough of Trump's "winning."
http://reason.com/blog/2017/06/22/carrier-will-move-jobs-to-mexico-despite
So the traitors in the intelligence Community and the Media Democrats have just outed a covert operation directed at Russia to blame Trump for more Something Mumble Something.
These people need to go to jail. Throw the MSM-Dems in the slammer until they reveal these anonymous sources that are endangering the nation.
Ah yes, that reminds me.

Typical. Taking delight on the misfortune of others. Kind of a character defect in some people. Sad that the idea of people losing homes and families makes you happy. You must be a miserable person to be around.
Ah yes, that reminds me.

All those potential jobs lost fills you with glee. You are a miserable person, in spite of your self image. You should be ashamed of yourself.
LLR seems absolutely gleeful today as Carrier announced it is moving jobs to Mexico: "So much winning! The workers at Carrier in Indiana have had about enough of Trump's "winning."
First sentence of the Wall Street Journal article from Nov 29, 2016: "Carrier Corp. has agreed to keep in Indiana roughly half of the 2,100 jobs it had planned to shift to Mexico, after a lobbying effort from the incoming Trump administration."
https://www.wsj.com/articles/carrier-corp-agrees-to-keep-about-1-000-jobs-at-indiana-plant-1480469875
So LLR, who broke the deal?
Chuck, an article that starts "Cronyist in chief" may not be giving you an objective report.
Also, I'm sure that as a life-long republican, you have sympathy for the 600 laid off, you just forgot to express it. Or maybe it was assumed. Or implied. Or something.
I mean, it's not like you posted a bullshit article to Althouse for the sole purpose of rattling your fellow conservatives while performing a pre-game victory dance.
Because that would be deplorable.
The subject of course is the 11-month siege of Baler (then Tayabas, now Quezon), where 50 Spanish soldiers held their post for 11 months against overwhelming odds. Hafta mention:
"Hiroo Onoda: A Japanese soldier who refused to surrender after World War Two ended and spent 29 years in the jungle has died aged 91 in Tokyo. Hiroo Onoda remained in the jungle on Lubang Island near Luzon, in the Philippines, until 1974 because he did not believe that the war had ended.Jan 17, 2014"
He surrendered when his former commanding officer was located and traveled to the Philippines to tell him the war was over.
Can you imagine LLR's reaction if the economy tanks? He will setting off more fireworks than Kim Jong-un does over the Sea of Japan.
Wow. Chuck and Inga have conveniently coordinated talking points. I'm sure it's another coincidence. Not a pattern.
Anybody watching Better call Saul? Lawyer Chuck lost his mind when things did not go his way. Life imitates art?
Fen,
I don't know Chuck from Adam. Conspiracy theories floating around in your head again.
Big prick and cockholster have conveniently coordinated talking points. I'm sure it's another coincidence. Not a pattern.
I'm joking, I'm joking!
"All those potential jobs lost fills you with glee. You are a miserable person, in spite of your self image. You should be ashamed of yourself."
You should be ashamed of yourself for believing Trump's lies. The rest of us knew he couldn't get them to stay.
I don't know Chuck from Adam.
Are you braggin;. or complainin'?
Duck off Inga. You're a traitor. You don't get to lecture others about shame.
Avatar of shark devouring helpless kitten.
Seems somehow familiar, and yet......
OH! I know, Trump devouring Hitlery. Winning!
That cat has a strong personality. Humans should do as well.
I recall the Cherokee Tribe's guide explained to us once that humans desiring to hunt a particular game animal first had a ceremony to receive that animal's spirit into them so they could out think them.
That cat appears to think like lawyers I have known.
We told you so, yes we did, now hang your heads in shame for believing Trump. are you tired of all the winning yet?
That cat needs a wire brushing.
My cat loves to lay on his back when I brush his belly and he purrs. Then when he's ready for the finish, he sits on his paws and I brush him down on his back and sides.
When he's had enough of that, he climbs into his bed and takes a nap.
I usually get enough fur to make 10 fur-ball vomit spots, so it saves the carpet.
Hey what's with all the personal attack comments? It's as if toxoplasmotic parasites have taken over your respective brains.
Your hubby could grab some pussy, and not get in any trouble...
At least I'm not seeing that thing of putting in a lot of extra line breaks. So kudos.
Some of these posts look a lot like that banned retarded ladies posts. Maybe see if they are the same IP address.
Belling a cat is a cruel insult to the base of its nature. Stealth is deeply woven into cats' self-concept.
"We told you so, yes we did, now hang your heads in shame for believing Trump. are you tired of all the winning yet?"
Hang our heads in shame? There is no chance of that. I suspect the president you and your side despises, may make a phone call or two. We shall see. I am also thrilled the current president is willing to take steps to save American jobs.
Speaking of shame, it is quite impressive to see you and LLR dancing on the Indiana worker's graves.
"Hey what's with all the personal attack comments? It's as if toxoplasmotic parasites have taken over your respective brains."
Maybe it's a cat fight.

Inga crafts a strawman so that she can finally shame eveyone with I told you so. WTF is wrong with this woman?
SCENE: Chez Althouse. Regulars discussing cats. Inga slams open door. Barges
Inga: Aha! I found these panties behind the dumpster behind back!
Patron #1: Ah hell not this shit again.
Inga: You people should be ASHAMED!
Patron #2: Those are your panties dear. But what were you doing digging around in -
Inga: I told you so! I told you so!
Patron #3: Told us what?
Inga: You're nuts. Shame! Shame! SHAME!
Patron #2: Would somebody snag her keys and call a cab for Crazy Cat lady? Geez Inga, it's not even 7pm.
Inga: Shame! Shame! I told you so!
That's a Maine Coon if I'm not mistaken. I've had two in my lifetime, they're large, beautiful, and are as close to a dog as a cat can be. Grooming is the only downside.
I contributed to the cat discussion! I believe it's a cafe post where we can discuss what we want, not what Fen dictates.
Fen, you apparently have a very active fantasy life.

That's Reason.com. The webpage of the libertarian Cato Society. And let's remember who else condemned Trump's phony pandering with Carrier. Sarah Palin; George Will; the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board. This is hardly the Democrat Left.
Trump made you fools think he was going to be the savior of the working class, what dupes. We knew better. We told you so.
These are the same people who told us Trump was unelectable, right?

"My cat ripped open a bag of wheat gluten a few weeks ago. Obviously not something he would want to eat. Why, cat, why?"
Because cats are very smart and know humans have survived for centuries without bags of wheat gluten.
It not like the cat could tell you that in a handwritten note. Cats have notoriously bad penmanship.
Who said the following? "His (Steve Scalise) whole job is to get people, convince Republicans to f*cking kick people off f*cking health care. I'm f*cking glad he got shot, ... I wish he was f*cking dead."
A) Johnny Depp
B) Joy Reid
C) Madonna
D) Kathy Griffin
E) Phil Montag (Party of Love- Nebraska)
If you guessed E you would be right.
At least I'm not seeing that thing of putting in a lot of extra line breaks. So kudos.
And there goes our excuse that we didn't read the rules...
"Senate Judiciary Committee has finally decided to ........ launch a formal investigation into Lynch’s attempts to shape the FBI’s probe into Hillary Clinton, and whether she mishandled classified information on her private email server."
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-23/senate-judiciary-committee-opens-probe-loretta-lynch
If they can't get to bottom of this, I do believe a Special Prosecutor is in order.
So Justice Kennedy may step down on Monday. I suspect Mueller will ginn it up because the deep state wants Trump out of the WH and evicted from the swamp.
Depp was right, he is a liar. Now he says he was joking.
If there had been a bell on that cat you wouldn't have had any service berries to eat the other day.
Our old cat killed birds even with the bell. Other times he would just take off the collar. The neighbors complained about the bodies near their birdbath.
He didn't go outside that often or long (eating grass gave him trouble when older), but he still never brought fleas home.
Etienne, your cat-belly-rub story inevitably raises this clip from Sad Cat Diary.
I had a cat once that would go a pretty long rub-and-scratch before trying to kill me. Out of love, out of love. That's only one cat, though; the rest I've known go scratchy/bitey as soon as they see fit. Self-centered, cats are.
I can imagine Inga haranguing a dying man in a hospital if she found out he voted for Trump. That's just what a scum libs are.
I think Moby's are scummy.
Beautiful cat, but what scared the cat? Dog or human?
Maine coon? Young.
We had one when I was a kid that hunted dogs, foxes and groundhogs. It growled at people it didn't like or strangers. Sort of a watch cat. A few people screamed and ran. My uncle, when he first encountered it, was one of those people.
I have an older cousin who still talks about that cat. Close to 50 years later, and he cannot get over it. It was quite nice to me, though. They are mostly pretty good with kids.
You ask "why".
Your cat asks "Why not?"
Actually your cat was probably just curious or wanted to sharpen her claws.
Our cat loves to rip open boxes and see what's inside.
I was embarrassed to find myself pulling the pigtails of the likes of folks here, and so I quit.
If people here loved their dog, they would pull their dog's figurative pigtails not their infatuation-fulfilled online foils' (psychoactive) found fervently fermenting at a cat cafè.
But all of you it-takes-two-to-tango-ers keep it up, as among all that bumbling, clod-hopping wounded-near-dead-duck looking conglomeration of textual gyrations at some point, in some way, something not ugly could one day result...
Is that the Viking Ship cat?
Our first office cat would sniff every vehicle (hence his name, Pancake) and greet every customer. His meow was a squeak.
I had a cat once that would go a pretty long rub-and-scratch before trying to kill me.
I would rub his belly while he kicked my wrist (no claws), then he'd bolt 10 feet. Boss thought I was tormenting the cat.
"Is that the Viking Ship cat?"
Yes. Ida.
If a number of doctors and clinics go cash only, could an enterprising person with money set up an offshore conventional "old-time" insurance company on the internet?
A Viking cat should be named Inga. It's a good strong Viking name.
The name Ingvar is an Old Norse first name for men common in Scandinavia meaning "protected by Yngvi".
Gender Male
Word/name Old Norse
Meaning Protected
Region of origin Scandinavia
Related names Inga
Many notable Scandinavians have had this name, for example, the founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad, the former Swedish Prime Minister, Ingvar Carlsson, and the legendary Swedish king, Ingvar. The feminine version of the name is Inga.
The first element of the name is derived from Proto-Norse *Ing(w)ia (Ingi-), Norse Yngvi, who is better known by the title Freyr "Lord". The second element is probably either *harjaz (warrior) or *warjaz (defender). The name consequently either meant Freyr's warrior or Freyr's defender.

I absolutely refudiate any imputation of a relationship with Unknowninga.
James T. Hodgkinson, the left-wing gunman in last week’s shooting of GOP Congressman Scalise at a baseball field, visited Bernie Sanders’ office before the shooting and was in contact with two Senators.
Humperdink:
The monopolists/leftists conflate health care, medical care, and financial products. They did this most recently with housing. It's a recurring catastrophic misalignment that happens with a decadel period.
It's the same anti-capitalist, Pro-Choice mentality that denies uncompensated environmental and labor arbitrage that forces economic misalignments through reimportation, insourcing/outsourcing, and excessive immigration.
Not coincidentally, they are not only abortionists by Choice, but also deny individual dignity through establishment of institutional racism, sexism, etc. (i.e. [class] diversity), and favor elective wars, elective regime changes, and CAIR in order to obfuscate (with the aid of the press) the collateral damage from their global Pro-Choice policies.
Denying moral imperatives and Progress for profit has sustainable consequences.
That said, it's possible that no one knows or is capable of unwinding the ball of yarns spun over nearly a century without forcing catastrophic anthropogenic global climate change (e.g. a nuclear world war and mass abortion fields). So, they keep stacking it higher and deeper, and Obamacare (i.e. financial products) is only the latest effort to sustain the status quo.

DFN. A Horned Frog means a Baseball team of Texans now up 4-2 with none out and bases loaded in top of 6th inning at Omaha CWS. I will see you later.
That cat does not look especially pleased. Which is not unusual when they're in stealth mode. But in this case he seems to be saying; Why are you following me around? Can't you see that I haven't had a decent meal in three days? What'a ya think, it's easy out here?
Actually that cat is saying: kill, kill, kill, but remember to act nice when I get back home to the old lady who feeds me.
TCU up 8-2 now.
Say what you want about "Inga" as a name, but Ida Lupino was the model for the woman holding the torch on the Columbia Pictures logo. (Allegedly)
Welcome back, Buwaya! Not much has changed while you've been gone although I believe that Dr Althouse is becoming rather more concerned with the name-calling that happens here occasionally. Mr Trump is still President, although the Senate is evidently holding hearings to try to understand why; something like that. A random Democrat shot a few GOP politicos without having-- according to the FBI-- any particular targets. Mrs May lost her bid to strengthen the Tory majority in the UK Parliament and that French monsieur Macron was spoon fed to the French electorate as a panacea for what ails them. The partisans of Mrs Pelosi spent a score of millions of dollars in Georgia to attempt winning a congressional seat and lost. A woman drowned a raccoon. Actors and actresses tend to be not the brightest of human beings. The world is pretty much just as it was when you left.
"Humperdink said...

In my house the cat smacked the Samoyed puppy in the nose (claws only slightly extended) the first time the puppy barked and charged. The puppy learned to leave the cat alone. Then the cat took to sleeping on the half-grown dog which was warmer than the cat's box - long Samoyed fur in Canadian winter. Then the cat took to prowling along the fence looking like the cat in the photo and springing out at the dog at the end. The dog would chase it chase up a tree barking fiercely. It was all Kabuki - they were friends.
I guess Carrier feels that the left won't back Trump up on saving US jobs. The left isn't about workers and jobs; it's about men feeling OK in the little girls bathroom.
My take on the Georgia election: Trump has more support than he did six months ago. Trump won by 1 point. Six months later a well funded Democrat with celebrity support lost to a Trump-supporting Republican by 3 points. A few more months of attacks by the FBI and the shooters and Trump supporters will sweep the 2018 elections.

Why do I never see COEXIST bumper stickers? what's the conversation when they get taken off? Is it done at night in the garage with the doors closed and no acknowledgement of where Daddy is and what he's doing with a bottle called Goo-Be-Gone and a razor? Are the remnants buried like a dead bird? or recycled? or composted? or are they now garbage?
Wildswan, sharp eye. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen a "Proud To Be A Democrat" bumpersticker in months. And I live in the People's Republic of Maryland.
It always caused me to roll my eyes anyway. Like they were tryi g too hard. A public assertion that you are "proud" is just signalling a need for re-inforcement. It was counter-intuitive.
If I was a Democrat and proud of it, I would have that "kicking jackass" symbol as a bumpersticker. I'm a bit envious of how cool it looks. But that's how you express genuine pride, as opposed to falsely asserting "I'm proud, no really. I am"
@tradguy. I've often wondered how college gets a Horned Frog as a mascot. Not criticizing mind you, just curious. Admittedly I don't know exactly what a Horned Frog is. I am assuming it's a ferocious creature from Texas that swallows up Sooners, Longhorns, and Aggies, no?
Former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton came out swinging in a tweet Friday, saying if Senate Republicans pass their current healthcare bill, they will become the “death party.”
Good to see Hillary tamping down the rhetoric just a touch. What do you do when fighting a "death party"? Strongly worded letter to the editor of the local Pennysaver?
I say don't repeal Obamacare, let it fucking collapse of its own weight. That will save many lives compared to trying go make it sustainable, which is mass murder.
Hey, it's Caturday!
Chloe the tenured cat out mousing this morning. Haven't seen her return yet, but I suspect I will see her prey on the porch later this afternoon.
Watched last night's Special Report w/James Rosen subbing for Brett Baier. A new lib recruit, Olivier Knox (Yahoo News), was on the All-star panel. Talking about the latest SCOTUS ruling on copyrights and tradmarks, he could not/would not utter the word "Redskins". He danced around it like it was the third rail - 440 volts DC. It was hilarious to watch. For the deplorable crowd, of which I am a charter member, he made a complete fool of himself.
What the Democrats offer the working class is to save them from having to utter the hateful word "Redskins" and all they ask in return is to allow Democrats to make them compete with a flood of cheap foreign scabs for wages. It seems like a fair trade the white left is offering. Eminently fair.
Why would anybody name a football team after something they despised?
The only redeeming virtue of the Washington Redskin owner, Daniel Snyder, is his steadfastness in not changing the team mascot. As an owner, he's otherwise terrible.
It's even funnier when you look up the Redskin's... oh wait, my bad - that should be R------'s original fight song:
Braves on the War Path!
Fight for Old Dixie
- wait, what's that? Naaaah...
FIGHT FOR OLD DIXIE
- omg I think I just divided by zero.
Of course, i think the R------'s name is SO offensive, the team should be disbanded and its players imprisoned.
I say this as a native Texan who grew up in Dallas, a Cowboy fan since the days of Roger Staubach. Ahem. That was kinda just a disclaimer. I am totally objective and unbiased. No really. Stop making that face.
The Washington Horned Frogs has a nice ring to it.
"Washington Kleptocrats" would be a better name.
It's as if toxoplasmotic parasites have taken over your respective brains.
