From "Hillary Clinton Is Furious. And Resigned. And Funny. And Worried./The surreal post-election life of the woman who would have been president," by Rebecca Traister.
AND: Here's the transcript of the graduation speech Hillary just gave at Wellesley:
You may have heard that things didn't exactly go the way I planned. But you know what? I'm doing okay. I've gotten to spend time with my family, especially my amazing grandchildren. I was going to give the entire commencement speech about them but was talked out of it.Too bad she didn't remember during the campaign. If she'd seemed at least a bit to be someone who believed in a few things, maybe the negative stories wouldn't have stuck to her with the same adhesion.
Long walks in the woods. Organizing my closets, right? I won't lie. Chardonnay helped a little too. Here's what helped most of all. Remembering who I am, where I come from, and what I believe...

Well, the good news for Hillary is that she is still really, really rich, and the good news for us, is that she is still not President.
So, I'm pretty content.
This "out of the woods" thing is so contrived. You know she went on two, maybe three hikes total (easy to moderate, of course), and made sure she got her picture taken. Now it's a thing, a conversation item, it's part of her persona. If true, I sincerely hope a tick bites her.
Also, I laughed at the idea of the Times not being nice to her.
I don't wish Lyme disease on her, however. No one deserves that. Just a tick bite.
And Seth Rich is still really, really dead. And all investigations into his murder are still really, really being prohibited by the entire Deep State.
Off topic, but a judge just threw out the sentence of Lee Malvo, the DC sniper. Why? Because of the liberal Supreme Court which said you cannot punish a 17 year old as severely as an adult, even though Malvo was the triggerman and killed lots of people.
So thanks, leftists: Malvo might get to terrorize once more.

"And by the way, we were furious about the past presidential election of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice."
Impeachment?
How could she get that historical fact wrong? Nixon resigned. And she worked for one of the Congressional committees - until she was fired - at this time.
Hillary is not very smart at all. Even her speechwriters couldn't help her sound smart.
Bill Clinton actually was impeached. She should have been furious about that.
"Drumming up rampant fear about undocumented immigrants, Muslims, minorities, the poor."
Like in Manchester?
How much was she paid for this speech?
Personally I give her better odds of facing a criminal investigation than Trump getting impeached. Speaking of leaks, it would most interesting to know her wine and liquor store purchases.
Imagine what the Times would have said about her if it hadn't wanted to be nice to her.
She's upset (purports to be upset) that they gave her as much bad press as they did, but what if they'd wanted it to be bad? And what if, simultaneously, they'd wanted to help out Trump, the way they dearly wanted to help her out?
What a wacky alternative reality that would have been! Maybe it would have softened Trump and turned him into something we would not recognize as Trump, and he'd have lost.
"And by the way, we were furious about the past presidential election of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice."
It wasn't strictly "obstruction of justice" Hillary, it was lying under oath. I would think you would remember.
"And in reversing our commitment to fight climate change, it puts the future of our nation and our world at risk."
I thought Obama lowered the ocean levels.
At risk for what? Bigger risk than Iran with nukes? Bigger risk than ISIS? North Korea? When? At what cost? Who pays? Global warming is a complete and total scam that benefits her paymasters.
Journolists still can't see dead Democrats, presumably Deep Plunger, in Clinton's Water Closet.
"To be sure!" That's the funniest thing I've read this afternoon.
This Harvard study we were all talking about (on the ridiculously negative coverage Trump's received in his brief time in office so far) apparently hasn't made much of an impression on the smart Media set.
The Media gave Trump an amazing amount of coverage (which, in election terms, is fuel and/or oxygen) during the primaries and then threw almost everything they could against him during the general. The failure of that class to cope with Trump as President is largely due to the fact that the were CERTAIN he could not win, but did.
I'd ask "does Hillary have no same" but it's such an obvious answer...
The more I read about Nixon and Watergate, the more I think he got a raw deal.
He should have turned the tables on Archie Cox and the prosecution, as Clinton and his cronies did against Kenneth Starr.
2020. It's all about H>er.
Lots of references to the truth in her speech. Hillary wouldn't recognize the truth if it ran her over in the street.
The apomorphine was undoubtedly a big help too.
It stops those Parkinson seizures really well. The Chardonnay doesn't hurt.

Gotta hand it to those coastal lefties- they sure do love the story of her Kampf.

When I do it I'm bringing much-needed exposure to a very important topic.
When you do it you're fear-mongering and using isolated, context-free examples to propogandistically spread your dark, ugly beliefs.
My favorite hypothetical journalist:
"Ms. Clinton, have you read "Shattered" yet, and, if so, do you have reaction to it?
"the more I think he got a raw deal."
It gave Comey the game plan for a coup d'etat.

Related: In her recent commencement speech HillDawg called the Trump admin's proposed budget an "attack of unimaginable cruelty on the most vulnerable." Coming as it did shortly after the Manchester bombing (for which that phrase is a pretty good description)...well, kinda highlights the problem of ideological blinders (and of overusing superlative declarations).
The story is still about the journolists, spinning her yarns and way. It must be nice to have a committed staff to manipulate public perceptions.
50/50 the Dems run her or Chelsea in '20. "That's crazy," you object. Well....yeah.
She had another coughing fit during the speech, she might not make it to 2020.
Those were lies caught in her throat. It's a chronic condition.
In the Hillaryworld of alternative facts, Nixon was impeached. And she was a staff lawyer for a House Manager who prosecuted the case in the Senate. The brilliant work of Hillary resulted in Nixon's conviction and removal from office.
God loves America. He saved us from Hillary.
Those were lies caught in her throat. It's a chronic condition.
More likely she was inadvertently flirting with the truth on something, and it just wouldn't come out.
Her speech just emphasizes what an awful person she is. Classless, Clueless, and Contemptuous.
Liberals love it. Look out, Clinton 2020.
Vote Clinton 2020 - cause we're never going way

I am more and more convinced that college at the undergrad level is useless today except for STEM majors and the high tuition of the Ivys is not worth it unless you are a rich parent who wants a Wall Street career for the kid or a black/Hispanic who will get a full ride and a segregated dorm.
The rest, like a wealthy Wisconsin family someone mentioned on another thread, should join the Marines.
What a load of manure! They'd have us believe that the evil right-wing "advocacy media" was the one of the causes of her defeat, despite the fact that almost every media outlet in the country was on her side and covered for her as much as possible during the election.
As for the whole misogyny angle, I wouldn't have a problem voting for a female candidate if she were, say, honest and ethical. Hillary Clinton is not even in the same zip code/area code/time zone as either of those character traits. I didn't vote against Hillary Clinton because she was a woman. I voted against her because she was a crooked, dishonest and corrupt, and I feared for the horrors she would inflict on our country.
I won't lie. (Hah!) Chardonnay helped a little too. Here's what helped most of all.
Too bad she didn't remember during the campaign.
Maybe less Chardonnay would have helped. Or rye or vodka or whatever rotgut she actually does drink. I remember her tossing off that shot in that bar in Pennsylvania in 2008. She's had practice.
How I despise a shikker.
Hillary! How can we say good bye if you won't go away!?!
From the article: "A competent woman losing a job to an incompetent man is not an anomalous Election Day surprise; it is Tuesday in America."
Is that what it was about? How competent was Hillary, really? She bungled healthcare reform under her husband, then rode his coattails into a career in national politics. She was gungho for going into Libya when you would think she might have learned something from what happened in Iraq. She refused her husband's advice to pay more attention to blue collar workers in the Rust Belt. These were not little mistakes and she had no major achievements on the other side of the ledger (unless you count sticking with Bill).
"A competent woman losing a job to an incompetent man is not an anomalous Election Day surprise; it is Tuesday in America."
Wrong. Here's the correct version:
"A competent woman losing a job to an incompetent man is not an anomalous Election Day surprise; it is Sunday in France."
"you know what? I'm doing okay. I've gotten to spend time with my . . .
. . . political cronies and making up unbelievable BS stories about how I'm spending my time."
She's still coughing though. I thought that only happened because she was campaigning so hard. I'm starting to think she has COPD.
I can't help but wondering: suppose Bernie Sanders had beaten Carlie Fiorina. Does anyone think we would be hearing commentary like this: "To acknowledge the role sexism played in 2016 is not to make excuses for the very real failings of Clinton and her campaign; it is to try to paint a more complete picture. “I think a lot of people didn’t believe those of us who were yelling that it was hard to elect a woman president,” says Jess McIntosh, a Democratic strategist who was the director of communications outreach for the Clinton campaign. “The fact that that woman lost to the least qualified human being on the planet really kind of drove it home.”"
(quote from the article)
If sexism only exists as "anti-leftism" or "anti-progressiveism", in what sense is it different from those "anti-isms"? If sexism exists as an "anti-woman" experience, then please site an example where sexism has harmed a right-wing, or Republican, candidate.
Hillary still living in her own world. Didn't Gordon Lightfoot sing something about the house you live in will never fall down?
The old dame on dame blame game.
Carry on.
"Maybe it would have softened Trump and turned him into something we would not recognize as Trump, and he'd have lost."
In that universe, Trump has a beard and is never seen without a longneck bottle of Bud in his hand and a pint of Jack in his back pocket. And he's known for the saying "You're hired!"
I looked forward to vote for Palin. Girl.
And then there was Trump. Boy.
Clinton, not so much. Girl.

It's very easy to prove "strategist" Jess McIntosh is full of crap.
Kellyane Conway is the first woman to run a presidential campaign. And she pulled off the most stunning political upset in American history. Her name should be on every little girls lips, as an example of what women can accomplish.
But she is not, because in McIntosh's bubbled world, she's not really a woman, probably doesn't even have a uterus.

What have the Democrats learned from there loss in 2016?
Nothing. Nothing at all.
The much criticized GOP "autopsy" after their 2012 loss was, at least, an admission that they had a problem.
Nothing like it has been forthcoming from the Dems.
They did everything right, they believe, it is the American people who were wrong. So they need to be hated, and maybe assaulted.

We're still talking about Hillary because Chelsey.
Let's see Hillary - had any (R) did what you did - they would have been indicted and prosecuted. Certainly, they would have been forced out of any political race.
Instead, you and your press pretend you are groovy.
Where's the investigation into her Russian uranium profits?

worth a repeat.
Why isn't this cunt in jail already?
Because Mitch and Paul are working superhard on building that border fence and cutting planned parenthood.
Be patient, Hillary will be indicted when their balls drop.
Hillary wore a nice beret today. She likes Monica's style.
"Democrats. Makin' fun of the color of folk's skin for 190 years!."
Not me.
Hillary has a sense of humor, and there are little glimmers of likability that spark but, then, fade almost simultaneously. It's the vapidity that sticks with you..... The article is lengthy. I finished it but I think more out WTF than out of reasoned interest. I can see why she granted Traister a lengthy explanation interview. Traister doesn't ask a single probing question and seats Hillary high up on a throne on the elephant in the room.......How did women win in Germany and Britain? Are Americans so much more deplorable than their counterparts in those countries?
Poor Rebecca Traistor. She has a gift, but the article is hortible. Like a communist party-approved history of the revolution. I had to stop halfway through when I realized I might as well be reading fiction, for all the value the article had.
As for Traistor, it's the tragedy of a world class ballerina giving lap dances at The Yellow Rose. How sad.
"Too bad she didn't remember during the campaign. If she'd seemed at least a bit to be someone who believed in a few things..."
Those are not mutually exclusive. I don't believe she's ever forgotten her beliefs. She seems to me someone who has always believed in herself., and only in herself.
Oh, she believed in something all right. She believed for many years that she among American women was uniquely qualified and rightfully destined to become the first woman president. She still believes it.
Sumpthin' happenin' here.
What it is 'ain't exactly clear.
But it's good :}
I like listening to bloggingheads.tv podcasts, though I am a dedicated conservative, because the leftist presentations there are interesting and not predictable. I was very disappointed to not find a lot of episodes focusing on Hillary the last two years, in comparison to those about Trump. I believe even leftists who support Hillary find her boring and predictable. That is a big part of the media's motivation to talk about Trump---he is seldom boring.
There is a saying that one should never speak of rope in the house of a hanged man.
Willie must have done something to really piss her off last week:
And by the way, we were furious about the past presidential election of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice.
One article said she was referring to Nixon but if she was, she is having some real mental issues:
1) Nixon was never impeached. The only presidents to be impeached have been Johnson and Clinton.
2) Hillary (with 2 ls) was on the staff of the Watergate committee that tried and failed to impeach Nixon. Perhaps the reason she was fired was really terminal stupidity. Does she really not know that they failed to impeach? (Yes, they might have impeached had Nixon not resigned. But he did and they didn't)
That stroke she had 5 years ago may still be affecting her.
Or maybe she really did mean to bring Willie's malfeasing into the conversation.

Isn't it a pity that the Demmie bench for 2020 seems to consist of her and a guy who have been pretty vocal all his life about NOT being a Democrat?
I would like to see both political parties destroyed. I do not like seeing a one party system.
John Henry
Bay Area Guy,
I agree with you about Nixon in hindsight. Pretty much all our presidents look better with the passage of time. Even Jimmy Carter had his good points.
LBJ is probably the exception to the rule. He looks worse and worse every year. (I just finished Dereliction of Duty by then Major, now NSA McMaster. Use the portal it is worth it)
I had not read any of Nixon's books before but a couple months ago I read Ike and Dick about the Eisenhower/Nixon presidency. Pretty good. It lead me to Nixon's book "Leaders" about some of the memorable leaders that he had known and what made them memorable. I recommend it too. I suspect that I may investigate some more of Nixon's books.

Where's these woods sh goes walking in? How many cars in the motorcade that drives her there?

Irving gellman wrote a very insightful bio about Nixon's rise the contender, 20 years ago, and a follow up about his time with Ile, the president and the apprentice, that one is harder to find than Hillary's billing records
It cleared up about 30 years of narrative about him, naturally it is never mention again whereas John farrell's rehash gets all the attention.
She is most definitely planning another run in 2020- the signs couldn't possibly be clearer.
I stand by my prediction- the 2020 Democratic primary will be a death match to end all death matches between Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.
It helps stuff to slide off Trump when voters have correctly ascertained that the media (1) hates him and (2) is prone to making things up.
o come on althouse, Hillare WAS herself during the campaign. And people saw it and have had enough.
The negative stories still aren't sticking, but with fewer polls, the press has a feer hand to pretend that they are.
Trump has a better nonstick coating than our previous Teflon President. It must be that orange spray-on stuff.

Right on. I was at Wellesley one year behind Hillary. She has always been a hard worker, a striver, and an achiever par excellence. She knew where she wanted to go and she did everything and anything to get there—integrity be damned. Then she began to feel entitled because by God she earned it. On her climb up she never stopped to smell the roses or dally with bimbos or interns. But because she had given it her all there is nothing left at her core.
Perhaps it is more appropriate to blame the Democratic Party. If it had nominated a normal, non-corrupt C+ candidate, he or she would have won in a landslide.
Clinton to Run in 2020? She'll barely be able to hobble. She'll be doing wheelies in her wheelchair.
But actually I think she is just trying to make sure the family business doesn't lose out to the Obama pay-for-play opening in European capitals.
PS Nothing ever shook my conviction that we should support NATO till I saw the Europeans paying Obama to make trouble in the US.
Martha, I'm still in touch with the girl I hoped would be mine, when we were 12. (Other husbands, other wives supervened, and we will never be together except at the occasional lunch.) She also was at Wellesley with HRC, same year. Despite being a liberal academic feminist, she told me she would never vote for Hillary! no matter the opponent. I contrast that with a friend who roomed with Romney at some prep school, and actively campaigned for him. It's a special person who is despised the more the closer you get.
@Crazy, you aren't so crazy after all. Hillary Clinton was a uniquely bad candidate.
Get the hook.
Or as Ace has it....
"Hillary Clinton: Still Drinking, Still Coughing, Still Raging About the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy
"A little chardonay," which in some languages translates to a shitload of vodka, helped get her through her massive, humiliating failure.
She also had prolonged coughing fits, which are probably just the after-effects of the walking, non-transmittable pneumonia that makes you have seizures that she had last year, a thing which totally exists.
Then she began ranting like a lunatic about the Vast Right Conspiracy her political Gollum Sidney Blumenthal invented for her to fantasize about, in order to spare her the humiliation of her husband getting a rimjob on the job.
In other words, just another day in this sad bitter Harridan Nixon's drunk and unfulfilling life."
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/369959.php
Trump got a lot of negative coverage, which turned his "deplorables" off the media. like, TOTALLY!
After reporters admitting to submitting stories for preapproval and being pre-fed debate questions, Hil should be avoiding ANY discussion about how she was treated.
"They did everything right, they believe, it is the American people who were wrong. So they need to be hated, and maybe assaulted."
And replaced.
Wellesley showcasing Hillary as an exemplar of a graduate of its college breaks my heart. Until women were allowed to attend top universities like Harvard, Princeton, or Yale, the all-female Seven Sisters attracted the best and the brightest women. Wellesley graduates were prepared to compete with men as equals. And they did —in medical schools, law schools, business schools and in Ph.d programs. Hillary's biggest achievements were a result of riding the coattails of her philandering rapist husband. Hillary does not do Wellesley proud IMHO.
Another possibility. Hillary intentionally said Nixon was impeached to further the Trump is Nixon narrative.
