"I just love living here. So you just get into it... It’s fun. It’s fun to get involved where you live. And this is where I live."

"I’m a registered voter here. I have my Wisconsin driver’s license.... I’ve been here over 12 years and I love it out here.... I wanted to really ingrain myself in the culture and the people. And I apologize about having an allergy to dairy products that gives me some irritable bowels. But other than that, I mean, I’ve embraced just about everything else Wisconsin..."

Said Aaron Rodgers (who grew up in California).

Sucks he can't eat cheese. But there's still brats and beer!

JohnAnnArbor म्हणाले...

Doesn't Lactaid allow folks to eat dairy as needed?

JackWayne म्हणाले...

Anywhere will be preferable to California.

Original Mike म्हणाले...

@JohnAnnArbor - My wife is lactose intolerant. It's something she can take to reduce symptoms, but avoidance works better. She has found she can eat aged cheese however, so I guess something happens to lactose as cheese ages.

Watching elite athletes that make 20mil a year pretend to be like the rest of us is silly.

Nobody likes Aaron Rogers. He is a prick. He has been for a long time and people who pay attention to football have started noticing. Nobody likes him. Now he obviously has a consultant trying to rehabilitate his image. Probably because he looks like such a douche in the insurance commercials.

I promise you Aaron Rodgers has 100x more money than I do. And I pay $16 a month for a bottle of lactose pills that lets me eat anything from pizza to ice cream.

No excuse A A Ron!

I see.

Lactose intolerance and allergy to dairy are 2 different things.

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

Lactose becomes lactic acid in aged cheese, courtesy of bacteria.

Thanks, MM.

Translation: I've done everything possible to distance myself from the CA tax authorities.

"Oh, yeah. Cheeeeese."

"I've done everything possible to distance myself from the CA tax authorities." Which raises the too-lazy-for-google question: how/where do pro athletes pay taxes? Presumably, every state where they play wants a proportional cut of their income.

I was in Wisconsin a few times on company business. Although I couldn't suppress a chuckle at the 'ski runs', I found the restaurant fare tasty and very affordable.

Original Mike म्हणाले...

@mockturtle - We are vertically challenged, that's for sure.

Nothing says "Lovin' Wisgonson" better than a steady, lasting for days, 25-30mph wind racing across the Door Peninsula in January.

Interesting, Althouse. Like how celiac and gluten allergy are not the same thing.

I am sincerely requesting an irritable bowls tag. This could come up again.

JohnAnnArbor म्हणाले...

Irritable china in general, or just bowls?

Hey he may be---according to one poster above--a bit of a jerk. Pro quarterbacks can be like that. I'm a San Diego Charger fan (or at least was) and recall that any receiver who had failed to hit the spot where Dan Fouts threw the ball (this in the late 70's and early 80's) was afraid to come back to the huddle. Fouts would stand in the veritable Gates of Hell and take ferocious hits waiting to deliver the ball to the exact spot at the exact moment. The receiver's job was to get there; Fouts's job was to put it there on time and on target, and if he had to take a hit to do it, he would. A guy who stands up to that kind of licking might get just a little bit wee wee'd up if his receiver(s) didn't do their jobs.

So Aaron may be a jerk; but at least he hasn't done a Colin Kaepernick.

Honestly Achilles, your remarks just sound like sour grapes -I think you are just jealous of us Wisconsinites. Most of us love Aaron and appreciate that he loves and appreciates us too! His support of the Badgers and other college teams inspires those players, and adds to our experience too.

Well, maybe, except for that Prop 8 thing.

Wisconsin amended it's state constitution. So not maybe.

Yes, pro Athletes have to pay state taxes in every state they play.

Rodgers admitted that he still votes absentee in California, "because I can't figure out how to navigate the complex Wisconsin voter ID law."

Presuming we are talking about bowels, this tag might tempt our blogress to apply that tag any time certain commenters are active on a thread.
