Based on her behavior, it appears [the girl who appears to be 11 or 12] could have lived among the primates since she was an infant.... When the girl arrived at the hospital, she had wounds all over her body. “Her nails and hair were unkempt like monkeys,” [Bahraich police officer Dinesh] Tripathi said....But monkeys don't walk on their knees and elbows, and they eat with their hands!
“The way she moved, even her eating habits were like that of an animal,” D.K. Singh, chief medical superintendent at Bahraich District Hospital, told the Associated Press in an interview recorded on video. “She would throw food on the ground and eat it directly with her mouth, without lifting it with her hands. She used to move around using only her elbows and her knees.... She behaves like an ape and screams loudly if doctors try to reach out to her,” Singh told the New Indian Express. Another doctor treating her said the girl struggles to understand anything, and makes apelike noises and facial expressions.
I'm skeptical.

Yes. Hoax.
Notice how monkeys eat bananas from the short side not from the "handle" like humans tend to. I taught my son to eat his banana "monkey style."
She ... screams loudly ... struggles to understand anything, and makes apelike noises and facial expressions.
My ex-wife wasn't raised by no monkeys. Pretty sure.
I'm skeptical.
Me too. Was this originally published a week ago, perhaps?
Mowgli's long-lost sister?
Despite frequent raids on their apple trees, people in the Flying Saucer mobile home court side with the monkey. Some say they are suspicious of the animal testing done by scientists conduct at Fort Logan.

"He's basically a social drinker," Stevens said, and isn't dangerous.

"I don't care if they never catch him," said Rocky Rockwell, 73. "Why would I care? He's no harm."
Her last name is Dolenz, so there's that.
The elbow walk might be a submissive gesture so as not to tower over the more dominant primates?
And the food she threw on the floor was... Indian food.
I just read that monkeys don't eat bananas in the wild.
Next thing you know, you'll be telling us that the half-naked woman with webbed feet who was found in the Sierra Nevada isn't a mermaid.

The hospital is in trouble for taking bribes, so this might be a distraction.

I would too. Too much curry, strangely colored food and weird spices. Ptoooey.
After rescuing the girl...
Based on the account, it sounds more like a kidnapping than a rescue.
The WaPo reporter could have dug a little deeper---the Guardian is now reporting that the girl is disabled and likely recently abandoned by her family https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/08/indian-girl-found-in-jungle-was-not-living-with-monkeys-officials-say
Very sad story
We always heard of someone going native in British India and among long term American Indian captive women and children who were found. But I never heard of going marsupial before.
It would be amazing for her to survive all the childhood diseases common to humans. Maybe children don't get childhood diseases in the wild? Hmm...
No, this was Hillary! around 2:00 a.m. on November 9th. And Inga.
But monkeys don't walk on their knees and elbows, and they eat with their hands!
So obviously she was actually raised by wolves. The monkeys kidnapped her from the wolves, although they thought of it as a rescue.
Song for this post.

I've seen dozens of variations on this story over the years and they all ended up being hoaxes.
@Nell is right. WaPo's new update ...
