"The next generation would be justified in looking back at us and asking... 'Couldn't you hear what Mother NATURE! was screaming at you?'"

Lots of Trump in that trailer for "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power." And, ironically, Al Gore seems to be trying to TALK! like Trump.

Mother Nature would have to be screaming really loud to be heard over all the rest of them. She can do that, of course, but everyone will notice if she does.

donald म्हणाले...

This a fat tub of goo should be the photo example of the Wikipedia definition of born on third base and thinks he got a triple.

That's two awesome baseball references in one sentence and nobody in America will top that today.

donald म्हणाले...

Dammit. I edited and removed that a!

Darrell म्हणाले...

Gaia told me Al Gore was a putz. I'll defer to her.

Michael K म्हणाले...

Is anyone going to pay to see this crap ?

David Begley म्हणाले...

Gore just wants to tap into the Left's irrational hatred and fear of Trump in order to keep the CAGW scam going. But bad news for
Gore. Trump is already dismantling the federal government's advocacy on this issue. Wait until Congress passes a law that finds that carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant.

The Greens are finished. Elections have consequences.

donald म्हणाले...

Albert. His name is Albert. As in you know...Fat Albert.

donald म्हणाले...

Gore just wants to gets paid bitch.

donald म्हणाले...

I'm not calling you an actual bitch Mr Begley.

Nonapod म्हणाले...

He'll be able to pay off a lot of masseuses with the proceeds from this one.

Brando म्हणाले...

Hm, seems like a good time to go off the grid...so I don't have to hear about any more Al Gore projects.

donald म्हणाले...

And that shoulda read "gots ya get paid bitch"

Darrell म्हणाले...

He'll be able to pay off a lot of masseuses with the proceeds from this one.

I thought it was real sensitive of him to put on a lesbian mix tape when he tried to rape that masseuse that time.

Clyde म्हणाले...

Algore is so 2007. Dude, we're so over you. Your fifteen minutes are up. Go back to one of your coastal mansions that are going to be swallowed up by the rising oceans!

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Chakra.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Someone had to say it.

David Begley म्हणाले...

Gore, "What would it take to shift to renewables?"
Answer: More tax subsidies.

Every time I see Gore I think that this was the guy who would have been POTUS on 9-11 but for a few thousand votes in FL. Disaster.

Inga म्हणाले...

I guess if you want to be heard nowadays over the dinn of yelling voices you have to yell even louder... or something. I'm leaning towards letting what's going to happen, happen. I don't think all the warnings are going to work as people are so entrenched in their own viewpoints. Hopefully our grandchildren will have discovered the truth or untruthful nature of global warming and have the capacity to do something about the damage, if it's true. Good luck to our great great great grandchildren and please don't hate us.

Darrell म्हणाले...

Good luck to our great great great grandchildren and please don't hate us.

They'll be taught to hate you as they are now. Assuming the Left is still in charge.

Dave D म्हणाले...

I'm betting LOTS of the future generations will be cursing us for straddling them with outrageous/immoral debt. AGW will still be the sham that it is, but that reality will compete heavily and eventually surpass it.

Jaq म्हणाले...

We hate our great grandparents for all the shit they did based on our present day judgments. I don't think they mind.

buwaya म्हणाले...

Tax subsidies isnt where its at, though there still is a lot of it of course. Thats so 70's and 80's.
This can all be done without government expenditure or overt taxation.
You have your tax credits to favored businesses, and that doesnt show up as expense. But even that isnt au courant.

Modern enviro policy works through mandates to businesses to purchase "carbon credits" from favored persons, turning this into a "market". And of course by requiring certain industries like utilities to "invest" in systems provided by favored persons, sending the bill for overpriced electricity to the ratepayers.

Bushman of the Kohlrabi म्हणाले...

Is Al still selling credits to himself to offset his massive carbon footprint?

Kevin म्हणाले...

"Good luck to our great great great grandchildren and please don't hate us."

Great great great grandchildren? I was told armageddon would be much much much sooner.

Darrell म्हणाले...

I was told armageddon would be much much much sooner

It's always 5-10 years down the road. It's been that way for thousands of years.

Patrick म्हणाले...

Inga,

I don't think it matters that people are entrenched in their view points, it matters that no one, and I mean no one, drin the most fervent believer to the most ardent skeptic, is willing to change their lifestyle enough to do what For says must be done to susceptible of CAGW.

If we need saving, it will be the climate engineers who will save us.

Inga म्हणाले...

Oops, that should be din, not "dinn". According to the Urban Dictionary, dinn is masturbation.

buwaya म्हणाले...

The cleverness of modern environmentalism is in its ability to levy what amount to taxes through mandates and regulations, without calling them taxes or including them in government fiscal accounting.

And then using these funds to reward favored persons, or finance political allies. It is a wonderfully open system of political corruption.

And that is just the explicit policy mandate end of this.

Bruce Hayden म्हणाले...

What I find interesting is that this scientific illiterate (D+ and C- in his two bonehead undergraduate science classes) thinks that he is some sort of expert when it comes to CAGW. A (IMHO weak) scientific argument can be made for it, but not by anyone as clueless about the science as he is.

Patrick म्हणाले...

Besides, Al already told us we're too late. What's he saying this time? "I told you so?"

damikesc म्हणाले...

""The next generation would be justified in looking back at us and asking... 'Couldn't you hear what Mother NATURE! was screaming at you?'""

At what point do we decide that Al Gore is just batshit crazy?

Sorry, never heard "Mother Nature" talk to me. Must not be in touch with my chakras or something.

Say...how accurate were the predictions in the first power point presentation? Didn't he sell his network to major producers of evil oil? Did Mother Nature say "You know, Al, you deserve this money dood!"

Michael K म्हणाले...

Hopefully our grandchildren will have discovered the truth or untruthful nature of global warming and have the capacity to do something about the damage, if it's true.

By then the coming ice age will be the worry.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

It is utterly fascinating to me how all religions seems to have some version of the apocalypse. It must be linked to some deep and hardwired portion of our brains that makes it so.

The smart, long-lasting religions' founders seem to have had the good sense to make their apocalyptic prophesies indefinite in time, thus not discrediting themselves at some point. AGW proponents like Gore, though, don't have that good sense. If you keep predicting the sky is going to fall in 10 years, you eventually lose your adherents when it doesn't happen, and the ones you keep often end up drinking the funny tasting Kool-Aid.

rehajm म्हणाले...

Couldn't you hear what Mother NATURE! was screaming at you?

Perhaps if you turned off the engines on your Gulfstream?

Rosalyn C. म्हणाले...

Meanwhile Gore reportedly uses 10-20 times the utilities of average people in his gigantic mansion(s). Does one man really need twenty rooms and eight bathrooms and 3 or 4 homes? He warns of dire consequences at the same time, why some people take him seriously is beyond me.

From 2007: "Gore has said he leads a 'carbon-neutral lifestyle.' To balance out other carbon emissions, the Gores [sic] invest money in projects to reduce energy consumption around the globe ..." link Two years later he bought another giant mansion in CA.

Fernandinande म्हणाले...

'Couldn't you hear what Mother NATURE! was screaming at you?'

"GO AHEAD AND LIVE OR DIE I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!" screamed mother nature.

campy म्हणाले...

At what point do we decide that Al Gore is just batshit crazy?

For me it was sometime in the late '80s.

hawkeyedjb म्हणाले...

The three great religions of today are Islam, Diversity, and Global Warming. They are very much alike in that they look upon nonbelievers as people to be shunned, shamed, ruined, or in extreme cases, killed. Faith, not reason, guides all of these religions.

Why would Saudi Arabia and Russia finance another attack on American energy production?

I cannot grok it.

I was going to visit New York City, but cancelled my plans as Ms. Al Bore stated it would be under water by 2015.

Mark Jones म्हणाले...

"It is utterly fascinating to me how all religions seems to have some version of the apocalypse. It must be linked to some deep and hardwired portion of our brains that makes it so."

I think it's because, deep down, many people can't *really* wrap their heads around the idea that the world will go spinning merrily on without them, that people will still be people long after they're as dead as some random Roman citizen. So they imagine that the world...won't. That, at worst, it will survive them only some short time before succumbing to disaster.

Michael म्हणाले...

Mark Jones
Exactly. As the poet Philip Larken wrote on death , and I paraphrase. There is a lot that could happen and wont but this will

Birkel म्हणाले...

Anybody want to imagine a Congressional investigation into the financing of anti-energy movies like this one? The Russian connections would be interesting.

Mother Nature: It's a baby!

Inconvenient truth. Save the babies!

Science is the product of self-evident knowledge that human perception, natural and enhanced, are limited in time and space. The system and processes are chaotic by virtue that they are incompletely and, in fact, insufficiently characterized and unwieldy. Prophecies of past and future events are mental exercises outside of the scientific domain, where accuracy is inversely proportional to the product of time and space offsets from an established frame of reference.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

I always assumed that the "Al Gore effect," unseasonably cold weather ever time he or some other fat head gives s presentation about Global Climate Change, was Mother Nature trying her best to tell us something.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

Mark Jones,

That is as good an explanation as any. I guess I would call it the Sour Grapes version of dying.

Why would a skeptic be asked to change ANYTHING in their life for something they believe is false? I don't ask atheists to honor and obey the teachings of Jesus.

Hey, Inga, you know who supports, HEAVILY, any move to limit the American energy industry? Care to guess a name?

Craig Howard म्हणाले...

Sort of how I've felt about the companies I've quit.

So far, they haven't, though.
