Putting the egg in Schwarzenegger...."

... Arnold, who was unwatchable as the new star of "The Apprentice," blames Trump.

I could see blaming Trump for playing the role so well that Arnold's badness was overly obvious, but Arnold is blaming Trump for weighing the show down with "baggage."
“With Trump being involved in the show, people have a bad taste and don’t want to participate as a spectator or as a sponsor or in any other way support the show,” Schwarzenegger said in that interview. “It’s a very divisive period now, and I think this show got caught up in all that division.”
To be fair to Arnold, Trump was kind of mean to him from the outset, tweeting crap like...
Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got "swamped" (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT. So much for....

being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary
... but, yeah, maybe Schwarzenegger started it by being for Hillary.

Lots of action flicks from Schwarzenegger but no romance in them that makes any sense.

Althouse, I am assuming you are getting around to this: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2017/03/trump-goes-nuclear-with-claim-obama-wiretapped-him-during-election.php

As far as Schwarzenegger is concerned, it is entirely predictable that he would want out. Politically he can not stand the heat.

Like the post-election meeting where he called Obama a "nice guy," Trump has to realize now that he's in the fight of his life with a not very nice ex-president.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THAT OBAMA-TRUMP MEETING

The president plays nice in public, rolls his eyes in private.

Barack Obama is pissed, no surprise. Inescapably pragmatic, no surprise. But taking the long, long view, no surprise.

Some of the media’s caricature, especially of Obama’s meeting with Donald Trump, looks decidedly suspect after New Yorker Editor David Remnick tracked him down after, including a two-hour session in the Oval Office. (New Yorker)

“The official line at the White House was that the hour-and-a-half meeting with Trump went well and that Trump was solicitous,” Remnick writes, though he could have added it was the official line for a media that largely regurgitated it.

“Later, when I asked Obama how things had really gone, he smiled thinly and said, ‘I think I can’t characterize it without...’ Then he stopped himself and said that he would tell me, ‘at some point over a beer — off the record.’”

Bay Area Guy म्हणाले...

Arnold quit the show or was asked to quit.

Actions speak louder than words.

Arnold's explanation as to why he quit (Trump caused me to quit) is pathetically weak. It's called an excuse. Big boys learn not to make excuses as they get older.

Trump went totally batshit crazy on Twitter this morning. This is your guy Ann.

Once written, twice... म्हणाले...

And yes, he is not normal.

If you weren't a total hypocrite Ann, you would be calling for Trump to realease his tax returns like he promised during the campaign he would do if he got elected.

It is become more clear by the day that he is soaking in Russian money.

Paddy O म्हणाले...

Arnold was gelded by the CA Teachers Union and the CA legislature. He had a chance to be a hero but gave it up, gave up his possibilities. Why would anyone watch him now?

“Later, when I asked Obama how things had really gone, he smiled thinly and said, ‘I think I can’t characterize it without...’ Then he stopped himself and said that he would tell me, ‘at some point over a beer — off the record.’”

Why would this be the truth instead of Trump's version? Because Obama told a reporter this?

This is just the kind of thing someone would say if they wanted to appear tough in public to a crowd that wanted him to be confrontational to Trump.

Just as it became more clear by the day that Obama wasn't releasing his birth certificate because he was born in Kenya.

Once written, twice... म्हणाले...

Fine. Racist Trump got President Obama's birth certificate, the least supports of Trump (like Ann) could do is encourage him to stop being a hypocrite and release his tax returns like he promised during the campaign he would do.

Arnold stated it by being a traitorous RINO and taking some very aggressive shots at Trump during the Campaign.

He's trying to blame Trump for his failure, but its obvious he was a "loser" as Trump would put it. Arnold was actually everything the MSM said Trump was. Namely, an empty headed celebrity who had no real desire to do anything except be Governor of California.

People have trouble remembering he was even Governor, since he did absolutely nothing.

rcocean म्हणाले...

"Trump went totally batshit crazy on Twitter this morning. "

Let me translate the "liberalese". "Batshit crazy" means Trump told the truth and did an end round the MSM filter. He got his message out via twitter.
Everyone can read it, in 10 seconds. You don't need to read a WaPo version of what said.

The Liberals/MSM hate that.

Da Arnold has a plan. Swartznegger wants what DJT has, like he once wanted what JFK had. But alas he could not stop the fooling around with women part.

Good thing this Austrian Nazi doesn't want Poland.

There's another thread for Trump's "wire tapping" tweets. This thread is for discussing The Apprentice and Schwarzenegger's feud with Trump.

Once bitten, you've been repetitiously commenting and commenting off topic too long. Everyone knows what you think. You are boring people and not furthering the discussion. Up your game. I'm not going to brand you as "bad faith" yet, but if you don't change your ways in response to what I am saying here, you will become a persona non grata. Expect deletions. TV ratings are unforgiving- that is the only reason Schwarzenneger is out. I suspect the show itself is probably dead, too. It really doesn't work very well without a high profile businessman, and I don't see any others that people would want to watch other than Trump.

Darrell म्हणाले...

Schwarzenneger's mistake was listening to the Kennedys. Everything after that was failure. Go back to making scripted movies, Hopefully not scripted by the Kennedys.

JaimeRoberto म्हणाले...

Or maybe the show is old and has run its course.

Paul Snively म्हणाले...

It occurs to me to wonder what people are thinking when they wonder aloud or in writing what Trump's complaint about some seemingly unrelated aspect of an opponent's actions has to do with the matter at hand. It's just another version of "well, consider the source." It's just that it offers specifics. It views the opponent more holistically, as a collection of patterns and behaviors, from which certain expectations can be derived.

And I think that's really what's different between Trump and most modern people, and especially the "coastal elites," "chattering classes," or whatever term you prefer: the name of their game is a kind of hyperreductionism, in which nothing relates to anything else, bizarrely coupled with a kind of hypergeneralization, in which Richard Spencer and Steve Bannon are "literally Nazis." Trump appeals to a less sharply-defined set of definitions, but tends to look at them in the aggregate. The latter is what appeals to what his listeners think of as "common sense," the common sense that has, consciously or unconsciously, felt under assault by the left's reductionist wordsmithing increasingly encroaching on every aspect of day-to-day life, by legislation when possible, and by proclamations by elements of the deep state when necessary.

The Trump administration's adoption of economic nationalism while otherwise attempting to dismantle, or at least dramatically reduce, the reach of the deep state is likely to exhibit the same cognitive dissonance the left's governance does, because it takes the same deep state apparatus to impose incoherent economic policy as incoherent social policy. So maybe next time we'll get a Libertarian president... except that would have meant Gary Johnson in 2016.

Yeah, we're screwed.

Professor,
Once is not sincere. The game is to get you to respond. A response from you is a point for Once, and Once believes himself to be your equal.

Trump's nature makes the failure of Arnold important. Arnold was a failure as a governor, most agree. He is now also a failure as the guy who says "you're fired" or whatever Arnold said.

The key is that Trump was a success at that show, and he'll be a success as POTUS, you just wait and see. That's why it matters to Trump, and it matters to a lot of his voters. It's not the way we see the world, but that's not the only way to see it. See?
