"Eleven people who slaughtered a sheep, stripped naked and chained themselves together outside the gates of Auschwitz last week were... not neo-Nazi extremists..."

They were pacifists.

According to prosecutors.

That's probably news to the sheep.

Makes sense to me. Kill a sheep and strip. What could be more obvious?

Fine line between German pacifists and neo-Nazis.

Inga म्हणाले...

Poor sheep. I hope they donated the meat to poor people.

The results of their urine samples should be interesting.

Striking parallels to the Individual Eleven storyline from Ghost in the Shell/Stand Alone Complex. Particularly the fact that the protesters were unknown to each other before the event. Wonder who is behind this.

Bob Boyd म्हणाले...

I've got an idea.

What?

We're pacifists, right?

Yup. Pacifists.

So why don't we go to Auschwitz and kill a sheep?

Hey, that's not bad.

Rob म्हणाले...

Stripping naked was the giveaway.

Pacifism wasn't what shopped those chimneys from smoking.

David म्हणाले...

Did they wear sheep's clothing before they stripped?

Exiled wins this one.

Back in 1992 when they started making it easy to get on the Internet I knew that no good could come of it.

"No good will come out of making it easy to get on the Internet," I would say, which was anachronistic of me, since it was still Arpanet.

"Even worse idiots than the ones already on would start communicating with each other and start cooperating to do incredibly stupid stuff,"

Which was obvious, but still correct.

Ron Winkleheimer म्हणाले...

Also, the message of killing a sheep would seem to be ... don't be a sheep. Kind of the opposite of pacifism.

Also, spot on exiled.

Clyde म्हणाले...

Just as "vegetarian" is an old Indian word for "bad hunter," so "pacifist" simply means "bad fighter."

When the lion and the lamb lie down together, it just means an easy meal for the lion.

Si vis pacem para bellum. (Let's get the Latin quote right!)

Etc.

Except I meant to write "stopped" not "shopped."

The only difference seems to be: no one ever fantasized about being ravaged by someone dressed as a German pacifist.

The Left is wacko, and we should state that each and every time they do anything to promote a cause and/or get some publicity.

Levi Starks म्हणाले...

Assuming what they did was the violation of some law, wouldn't the proper punishment have been to allow them to remain naked, and chained to the gates?

James Pawlak म्हणाले...

It was pathological pacifists who allowed Hitler to have German troops march into foreign lands.

pdug म्हणाले...

Good thing nobody punched them. (?)

Richard म्हणाले...

From the sheep’s perspective, they were definitely not pacifists.

Sigivald म्हणाले...

Why ... would anyone think they were Neo-Nazis?

(Though equally, what in actual fsck does that have to do with a pacifist protest either?)

That's too easy. The weak and indecisive non-pacifists had a much larger role.

Tarrou म्हणाले...

The correct response would have been to take the keys to the chains, and leave them be. And then cook the sheep.

holdfast म्हणाले...

Don't they know that millions of pacifistic types were already slaughtered there?

When the Russkies finally liberated the camp, they didn't use hugs and flowers.

The weird part is that "Auschwitz" is the German name to the town, and if you don't think that P.O's the Poles, you're just not thinking hard enough ...
