Defining "BREAKING NEWS" down.

Maybe USA Today also has a live feed where I can watch ice melt. I've heard that's very exciting.

NYC snow is better than your snow. The peasants should be honored they are allowed to share this moment.

Now now. I'm sure there's some award winning reporting going on with this storm: Anchors revealing the faceless heroes buying rock salt and replacing their snow shovels at Home Depot. Perhaps stunning video of empty store shelves where milk and bread once sat.

You know when it snows out here it is more important than other parts of the country.

Our Snow Matters.

You will hear about our snow all day from media reports.

Snow elsewhere, who gives a shit?

Paint drying... now that's entertainment.

Off to Toledo to watch the buns rise....

Titus म्हणाले...

The snow today is hitting the Bos-Was corridor. All the elite east coast cities are hardest hit by this storm and there are so many people is this little cooridor...important people.

Watching a tree grow is my favorite Breaking News. The leaves unexpectantly change colors. The acorns fall and roll off. Then the leaves flutter down and pile up, and then all of a sudden the buds come out all over again.

I must get that from my German Grandfather. He was the Green Sheep of the family. A Jewish musician named Hazel.

Now all those Forests of Bavaria are going to the refugees under Merkle. She must be coming here to arrange her escape home like the rest of the Europeans with wealth are doing.

For a modest sum I am prepared to turn on my camera phone and let people watch the wintry mix come down here. Banner ad space still available!

Shawn Levasseur म्हणाले...

At least its an event that actually happening in the moment.

CNN's definition of breaking news is so loose that a retrospective of the Lincoln Assassination would get billed as such.

We got nearly an inch in Central Ohio.

I haven't checked the radio today to see if the news panic has subsided.

They'd been forecasting three inches.

To be fair, it's supposed to be a foot of snow dropped over 12 hours. The last time this happened, Michael Bloomberg's reputation was ruined.

You look a little cold.

I like the way the snow seems to be reinforcing Trump's agenda and cutting back the federal govt.

You look a little cold.

"I think that you think that a certain something is not all that it could be, when, in fact, it is all that it should be... And more!"
"I'm sure it is."
"Look, you don't understand. There was shrinkage."

Meade म्हणाले...

When I'm not fascinated by ice melting, I like to watch Shiba Inu puppies yawning.

Where Titus lives there's a recurring joke when, during a major snowstorm, the Governor calls for all 'non-essential' state personnel to stay home. Then everyone stays home.

The worst part about it is the "blizzard" has been far less than advertised. I woke up expecting around a foot of snow and howling winds with another foot of snow on the way. I got maybe 4 inches at best and a little wind. If it is snowing right now I can barely tell. The white stuff is not even sticking to the trees and the roads have been plowed sufficiently that I could drive if it was really necessary. This "blizzard" does not even qualify as the worst snow storm of the season and it has been a relatively mild winter at that.

Fake News?

Wince म्हणाले...

The CNN banner, instead of "Breaking News," should read: "Faking News..."

Drago म्हणाले...

Titus: "The snow today is hitting the Bos-Was corridor."

Why are you, a Wisconsin resident, so concerned?

Titus म्हणाले...

Just got back from the gym in the nick of time. Closed at 1:00 today. Everything is closed!

Except a couple restaurants and liquor stores of course.

The gym was packed. The streets are dead. The wind is really picking up. I was almost blown away!

Say a prayer for us coasties!

Why do you say that Drag queen? Althouse actually knows I live and work in Cambridge, MA.

toodles.

Here in the desert Southwest there's nothing we like more than watching snow fall elsewhere.

Titus म्हणाले...

I love snow and blizzards! The bars in my hood will be packed tonight and with the right kind of peeps-locals. None of that suburban shit tonight...you can really tell the difference between them and us....it is just everything about the looks..and clothes...and hair....and body...just everything...oh and they generally have a partner or spouse.
