Nasty looking, but I'm sure you'll have something nice to say about it.

Is that the "Last Gas for 200 Miles" station?

David Baker म्हणाले...

I suspect the Shoshone did not approve the gas-station architect.

I asked my tough questions at 8:43 in a comment on the Flickr post. Wouldn't mind an answer.

Did you get out for less than fifty bucks?
Or was this a gourmet grill?

Meadehouse doesn't seem to travel west of the mountain states. Time to come to the Northwest. A bit like Madison (crazy people), but. . . . the vistas. Madison doesn't hold a candle.

No you didn't.

She says people need to protest. Some of you may die, but protest anyway.

Martin Luther King didn't quit when they put a price on his head. Protesters who think they should get a do-over and get Hillary in power, should protest all they want.

I doubt any of them will die. Not of violence, but maybe boredom. Maybe heat stroke.

pacwest म्हणाले...

"They've marched, they've bled, and yes some of them have died. This is a fight that is worth fighting for."

Bleeding and dying seems pretty violent to me. I'm thinking the purpose of this bleeding and dying is to change the Trump administration policies and by current political context his administration.

Double checking my thought process, but it sure sounds like she is advocating violent revolution to me. I see how she tried to couch her retoric, but she did a poor job of it.

Etienne म्हणाले...

Bleeding and dying seems pretty violent to me.

But she's referring to the protesters. She knows that some police are jack-booted thugs. Hell, she ran the asylum.

pacwest म्हणाले...

She's calling for people to march in the streets even though some of them may well be beaten and/or shot by the rogue police?

If she wants a MLK type movement shouldn't she be calling for civil disobedience or peaceful protests? Why all the talk of death and destruction?

Lem, why don't you quote the relevant tweets and explain why you think they are so telling? I don't see a reason why I should go to a platform that exercises viewpoint discrimination.

DrMaturin म्हणाले...

I just read that The Simpsons was just renewed for two more seasons. I didn't even know it was still on. I haven't watched it for at least 15 years. It used to be a cultural phenomenon but when was the last time you heard anybody mention it? Who still watches it?

Jaq म्हणाले...

You know what is funny? If you carefully explain the issues Trump got elected on, while distancing yourself from the bogeyman himself, you can get liberals to agree with the points he makes, for instance, on immigration.

My example of thinking of the border as a picket line, the unemployed in the US not being willing to work for the wages on offer, and illegal aliens as scabs who come in and "do the work the strikers won't do" works pretty well to express the point that just because somebody thinks that the US has a right to enforce its own borders doesn't make them a white nationalist Nazi of some kind. That's why the Democrats have to keep them so worked up all of the time, because if they stopped to coolly reflect, they might come to inconvenient conclusions.

"Economic losers have a right to vote too," is another line that works with liberals in person because the obvious truth of it is not refutable.

Jaq म्हणाले...

It's amazing too the undercurrent of disgust with Hillary's corruption that is there too, denied in the partisan frenzy of the election, but you don't get push back from liberals in person when you point that out either.

Jaq म्हणाले...

They are, to a man, fiercely loyal to Obama, I have noticed.

Girl with the Pony Tail on the Treadmill:

Sometimes I think about taking a road trip.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Go to some parks. See some cute small towns. See America.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

The City isn't everything.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I really wish I had an Audi.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Driving down the freeway in my Audi, playing my music. Being Free.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

MY car now probably wouldn't make it past a hundred miles.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I'd be stuck on the side of the road, waiting for a tow-truck.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I'd probably get some creepy tow-truck driver who'd keep staring at my ass.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Of course, I'd miss the gym.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I haven't missed my time at the gym in over three years.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

If I was paid for going to the gym I'd have an Audi by now.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Me in my Audi, seeing America.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Even go to areas where there is no WiFi. I could do that for a few days.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Be totally free of everything. No distractions. Just me.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

Me and my Audi.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I am SO getting a mocha at Starbucks after my workout.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I can picture getting a Mocha at a Starbucks in, like, Kansas.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I bet they have Starbucks in Kansas.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

They'd see my Audi in the parking lot and know I came from a Big City.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

I bet they don't often see an ass like mine in Kansas.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

My ass is the American Dream. I made it happen. Me.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

God, I really want an Audi.

(pony-tail swish, pony-tail swish)

tim, i've seen you post here in the past and i'm sure that you realize that there is no conscience here, that facts are sometimes alternative fact when it suits the point of view of the friendly bloggers here and that in the end they are mostly ideologues that dont care about much except their own point of view... in another time they would be aghast at trump and his enablers.. makes hilary seem like a sunny day in the park...

Jaq म्हणाले...

If you think that Hillary's corruption, war mongering, and bumbling idiocy multiplied by the power of the United States of America is preferable to suffering a few intemperate tweets, I have to question your judgement.

From the Fauxhaus Blog:

Paris fashion week shows tend to be held at the city's most opulent addresses, grand chandeliered salons dripping with marble and gilt. But new brand Sirloin gave tradition the bum's rush by presenting its debut collection this weekend in one of the French capital's most well-appointed public toilets.

Yes, the obvious response: hasn't High Fashion been going down the Toilet for years now? Let's flush that thought aside for a moment, and look at what might really be being said about Fashion: it is a biological necessity. We are hardwired for the New, and we need new Fashion on a regular basis, like bowel movements. We cannot let Fashion become constipated.

Or perhaps we need to look even closer, for a Universal Truth, and that Truth is: Fashion Models poop. To be precise, they defecate, they urinate, and the bulemic ones vomit. We see them in photographs generally looking pensive, expensive and dour, but do they keep that same facial expression when they are relieving themselves of unfashionable material? Are their legs artfully posed? Is the focus now directed away to the shoes?

Does the Fashion they wear help or hinder the ability to perform bodily functions? Some of the outfits would seem to require some tedious unwrapping before business could be attempted.

Maybe it is just as simple as the Designers say:

"...the collection "focuses on the intellectual questions that every Sirloin girl would ask herself during their brief moments in the toilet".

The thoughts of Sirloin Girls. Where's the beef?

I am Laslo.

Lefties are trying to kill the Trump administration. Why?

--Money.

We all have this McCain-like attitude of "if wrong was done with the Russians, I want to see it. It would benefit us all to see it."

Yes, it would help if all bad things were obvious to everyone all the time. Killing the administration for political effect is not a moral way to do that.

Excuse me, I should have said "clueless war-mongering."

In Earnest's defense his name is nicely ironical, and the people he is talking to, while not necessarily stupid, don't really want to expend the kind of effort it takes to think things through.
