The fantasy of shutting up Kellyanne.

Mediaite headline: "There Is Debate Over Whether Networks Should Stop Interviewing Kellyanne Conway Altogether."

That links to this at GQ: "Here’s an Idea: Stop Putting Kellyanne Conway on TV."

Which links to: "Journalists should stop interviewing Kellyanne Conway/Donald Trump's TV-friendly spokesperson just makes everything more confusing, journalism professor Jay Rosen says."
“I don’t think the people interviewing Kellyanne Conway know why they are doing that,” Rosen said.... “The journalistic logic of it is growing dimmer with every interview.”
If you've got to put her on, Rosen says:
“Just be real about it and say, ‘This isn’t actually of journalistic value... It has a different value and that’s why we’re putting it on the air.’ Just don’t pretend that this is a normal interview, with the normal rationale.”
Journalism professionals may want to be the arbiter of normal, but they don't know how to find that place in our mind. They've run so far afield in the last quarter century, and we've built up our resistance to propaganda. Now, you want to be our filter, but we're smoking unfiltereds.

Don't expost soap opera women to yourself being questioned. It makes soap opera news look like just idiotic soap opera.

Then politicians won't free-ride on it any longer.

And the NFL needs to stop playing Tom Brady. His Quarterback Rating is not normal for an NFL team to use. And he is a friend of a Known Monster.

The media to collectively refusing to interview Kellyanne seems about as likely to be successful as someone not thinking about pink elephants after being told not to think about pink elephants.

A good suggestion to eliminate Conway's brain power would be to declare her fists and her smile lethal weapons. Just get a UN Resolution.

Wait! Let me see if I understand this:

Ms Conway is not only the architect of President Trump's successful campaign, she is also one of his chosen spokesmen to the nation. The President's party controls both houses of Congress, & soon will pick a new Supreme Court justice to its liking.

The press is saying "well, we really don't like this woman, so in spite of the fact that she is the point of the spear for the party that's now running this damn town & the nation, we'll just ignore her".

These folks have gone out of their gourds. Full bore out of their gourds....

If we pretend she doesn't exist, then maybe she and That Man in the White House will go away. Yeah, that's the ticket....

Snark म्हणाले...

I doubt the problem is with Kellyanne, who as noted is a pretty standard political spin offering. I think the problem is the way Trump's mind functions, and the impulsive thoughts and actions that follow, and what that means for the ability of anybody to speak for him or the administration clearly and consistently.

It is really amusing to watch the MSM trying to understand the new world.

This is related to the Ben Rhodes concept that terrorism is a communications problem.

If we just explain that this is the new normal, all will be well.

If we just refuse to look, none of these things will happen. I think I was five years old when I realized that didn't work.

@Snark,

I think the problem is the way Trump's mind functions, and the impulsive thoughts and actions that follow, and what that means for the ability of anybody to speak for him or the administration clearly and consistently.

The so-called problem with Trump's consistency is at the detail to detail level. At the larger level, he's very consistent. Has he done anything yet that's not pretty much what he told the voters over & over again he'd do if elected?

David Brock's honest game plan:

“People are free to question my motives, but it should be pretty clear by now that the groups that I’ve created are committed to a more progressive America,” Brock told The Daily Beast in a phone interview on Wednesday. “I’m interested in building third-party organizational capacity to resist and oppose Donald Trump. I think that should be everybody’s goal on the left, to destroy Donald Trump, not to destroy each other.”

It is rare to get such honesty from the Left. But the stated goal is to destroy Donald Trump -- not to create jobs, not to rebuild factories, not to help the "forgotten" men and women in America.

And, that's why we support Trump and love Kellyanne Conway so much.

@YoungHegelian, it isn't really the whole press, just the mean girls part of the press who don't want her in their clique and are upset that she's popular. That, plus the pu**y men who go along with them and do their bidding.

Credit to lefty Trevor Noah for managing to figure that out:

"Lord in heaven. Why did the first politician to follow through on his promises have to be Donald Trump?"

YoungHegelian म्हणाले...

@Bay Area Guy,

I think that should be everybody’s goal on the left, to destroy Donald Trump, not to destroy each other.”

Remember how awful Republicans saying much milder versions of this thought were when uttered about the new Obama administration? Good times, good times.

As for Brock, he's not suitable to be the public face of much of anything. He has yet to answer what exactly his ex fuck buddy was threatening to take to the IRS, a threat that Brock took seriously enough to cough up at least $850k as a pay off.

You heard it first in Wisconsin. A circumcised National Socialist Party, with its leader standing in back of and under circumcised swastikas (WI Historical Society's phrase, not mine) and giving a circumcised "Heil" salute.

Why, who else could it be but Fearless Phil LaFollette at the founding of the National Progressive Party.

Thanks, Wisconsin. You've given us great cheese, beer, outboard motors and machine tools. I guess you are entitled to a miss occasionally.

A master of timing, he did this just before Herr A. Hitler began giving National Socialism/Progressivism a bad name.

And now David Brock wants to bring this back?

Ummmmmmm..... No. Not just no, but HELL NO! That is why Donald Trump is now President Trump.

And if you ever feel a need to make fun of someone's hair, what the heck is up with David Brocks?

To appreciate Kellyanne Conway’s truly formidable — almost magical — flak-catching abilities, dial up her appearances on The View with Whoopi Goldberg Joy Behar et al. Their questions are sharper and more poisonous than “legit” journalists, they gang up to get answers, and they don’t observe niceties like allowing guests time to speak; they simply yell down guests if they feel like it. It’s like a “conversation” at an all-female working-class family dinner table, which, coincidentally, is exactly where Kellyanne Conway honed her skills. She’s like the Mike Tyson of flacks, a holy terror to behold and exactly what Donal Trump needs.

Because, like Sarah Palin before her, they don't consider her a "real" woman. She isn't a liberal. She has children that she let live. She helped Trump defeat Hillary!!! They hate her guts, probably more than they hate Trump himself.

Absolutely nobody can do "attacks based on race, gender and other personal demographics" like liberals can.

I cannot be just me, that sees a really misogynistic tone in the attacks on Kellyanne Conway. Just like the racial attacks from the left on Justice Thomas. And the gender-orientation attacks on Ann Coulter.

Yeah, that sounds right.

Drago म्हणाले...

Is it just me or is there something incredibly rich about lefty socialists using Orwells 1984 to attack Trump?

Boy, talk about double-speak.

But then again, our lefties were the ones who sided with the Soviets when the Russians declared that anyone within the Soviet Union who wanted to personal freedom was mentally ill.

They also sided with Castro when he was busy ordering lobotomies and death for homosexuals......but apparently in the "good" lefty way.

Hmmmm, that probably explains the lefts astonishing silence in the face of rampant global sex slavery overseen by islamists.

It really all does tie together.

Carry on!

I was approached by a writer from The New Yorker to comment on the impact of Trump's election on an industry in which I am involved. I declined. Even that storied magazine is suspect in my mind. The press is getting it good and hard from Trump. Good.

Has been for a while now. About eight years. It's contagious, you know. You should watch out, you might catch it. Which would be ironic, because we're actually starting to get better. It's been over a month since the last time I felt like parading around in public with a poorly-made fabric representation of my genitalia on my head.
