"Insane one-handed catch sets up Badgers."

This may be easier to watch:

Good balance for a big and tall guy. He just made the NFL.

AllenS म्हणाले...

... and Fumagalli only has four fingers on his left hand.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

That still doesn't beat the Freeman catch against the Vikings for the Packers.

AllenS म्हणाले...

make that 3 fingers and a thumb.

Mark म्हणाले...

That really was not a one-handed catch. It was stopping the ball with one hand and bringing the ball in toward his body for a two-handed catch.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

He may have only four fingers, but they are all made of StickUm.

Mark म्हणाले...

This is a one-handed catch --

Michigan's Jordan Lewis Interception vs Wisconsin

Sticky gloves - yawn...

Ignorance is Bliss म्हणाले...

Nice catch. If he keeps playing like that he might have a shot at making Alabama's practice squad!

Dude1394 म्हणाले...

He just scored an nfl contract!!

CJinPA म्हणाले...

Nice catch. Yes, those modern, sticky gloves help.

gadfly म्हणाले...

Yeah! He played an outstanding game against LSU as well.

PB म्हणाले...

Nice kid. Nice family. Good for him.

Bay Area Guy म्हणाले...

Incredible catch.

The Badgers are awesome in Football (they win 10 games nearly every year) and awesome in basketball (Finals 2 years ago with Frank the Tank Kaminsky).

And, of course, Rodgers is hot, so Green Bay is on fire.

Why doesn't Madison do something about the tremendous "football inequality" in Wisconsin? It isn't fair to us on the West Coast (49ers, Rams, Chargers all suck -- Raiders were finally good this season, but just lost their QB).

Here is a backhanded one-hand catch - Cato to Dobson.

Nine fingers scores again!

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Congrats to the Badgers.

Original Mike म्हणाले...

Well, at least the Badgers are doing their part to uphold the honor of the Big Ten.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

"Nine fingers scores again!"

After your comment, I was watching closely. Incredible hands.

"One-eyed" Fred Arbanas (KC Chiefs 1961-70) came to mind.

Comanche Voter म्हणाले...

Nice to see our host happy. Nothing like seeing your team win. Doesn't happen often enough for my teams--the Padres and the Chargers. And lately the Clippers aren't all that swell either.

AmPowerBlog म्हणाले...

I think I like the Badgers all the more being an Althouse fan, heh.

Excellent football game, in any case. Western Michigan could have beaten Wisconsin, so all the Badgers fans can count their lucky stars. They're on the winning side of all those missed opportunities.

Happy New Year, Althouse!

Ignorance is Bliss म्हणाले...

The tough thing about being an Alabama fan is there are no pleasant surprises. ( There are also very few unpleasant ones. ) But if you go into every game expecting to win, they never have a chance to exceed expectations.

Kinda like being a Patriots fan.

Man, the Big Ten East has completely shat the bed this year. One last chance for them. Go Nits!

Earnest Prole म्हणाले...

My grandfather, a football player from the days when eleven men would play sixty minutes, offense and defense, with no substitutions, used to say: "If you can touch it, you can catch it."

Mid-Life Lawyer म्हणाले...

He just kept on making catches. Player of the game.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

A team that played for the Big Ten championship beat the champions of the Mid-American Conference by a TD and two point conversion? Pardon me, but the word for that is "meh."

HT म्हणाले...

This time might be different. We were very sluggish against Washington, and it turns out Kiffin had checked out. Now he's gone entirely and we will have a new OC. Let's see if we can get our mojo back.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

@Original, I stopped watching after seeing Penn State muff a kickoff and throw two interceptions in their first three pass plays. Note to Trace McSorley: your team is wearing dark blue jerseys and white helmets. When you throw to wide open guys it's bad if they're wearing dark red helmets and white jerseys.

The Big Ten sent ten teams to bowl games, and that's a good thing. But going 3 - 7 is not so good.

Now, now, just because something is true, you don't have to say it out loud. Roll Tide. Clemson is going to be a very tough opponent next week.

We were very sluggish against Washington, and it turns out Kiffin had checked out.

If they had a drinking game every time the fawning press said "Lane Kiffin" during a broadcast, no one would be awake at the end of the game.

At home we kept saying, "Why don't they just give it to that Scarbrough kid until they prove they can stop him?"

They finally did. They couldn't. And good riddance to that worthless "genius".

amazing what Velcro can do. Or a human spider. A delight to behold.

HT म्हणाले...

I know. How Jalen kept the ball so often I do not understand. Fortunate for us that game like so often during the season our D was all the O we needed. But Clemson is another kettle of fish. They have revenge on their mind. Last year's game was amazing. That onsides kick was a work of art.

Dabo has a better team this year.

So does Saban.

HT म्हणाले...

We may have a better team, but one, we didn't play like it against Washington.

Best catches:
anything Beckham
Prothro
the helmet catch Giants/Pats

Best strip - George Teague!!!

Oh! My! Penn State spotted USC 13 points and now is blowing them out.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

PSU vs. USC Highly entertaining. Not sure PSU can sustain this offensive explosion. Personal foul calls are helping.

Meade म्हणाले...

Penñ State might beat the over/under all by itself.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

McSorley is fearless.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

Over/under is 53.

Meade म्हणाले...

Too many touchdowns.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

"McSorley is fearless."

And not smart sometimes.

Comanche Voter म्हणाले...

Out here in Los Angeles, the place is full of SC honks. Two of my friends turned the game off when it was 49-35 in favor of Penn State. Called them to let them know that the Trojans had pulled it out. Fotunately they had left the recorder on.

That said--the SC fans I know will be insufferable for several months. It was a great game though. Neither team left anything in the locker room--they came to play.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

@Comanche Voter, 101 points between the two teams!?! I wouldn't have thought a college team could score that much if there was no defense on the field.

Gahrie म्हणाले...

Great game at the Rose Bowl.....I can't wait until next year...

Fight on!

Gahrie म्हणाले...

@ Big Mike:

How about 222- 0 ?

Lane Kiffin is out as Alabama's Offensive Coordinator. He was the one making those calls where Jalen kept the ball. That's a good way to get him hurt. Bama started rolling when they began giving Bo the ball. Something tells me he'll have many more opportunities next Monday night.

Clemson is out for revenge and there's a very good chance they'll get it. I have a lot of respect for them. Their defense is excellent and based on recent play, their offense looks better than Bama's. Their QB is very talented. They hung 40 points on Bama last year. I don't know if Bama's offense is powerful enough to score more points than Clemson will. I'll pulling for Bama but, if anything, this is going to be a harder game than last year's championship match. It may come down to who makes a critical mistake (like last year) or which coach is better on that given evening. It looks like it'll be must see football between the undisputed two best college teams.

Fumagalli is an Italian surname strictly bound to the city of Milano, Lombardy:

http://tinyurl.com/jvalpys

That's uncommon - most Italian migrants came from southern Italy, which is the poorest part of the country. On this same site, you can find the distribution of other Italian names you know: just write them in the input box at the upper-left corner and push the button "Trova" ("Find").
