Here we are.
ADDED: Here's an older video of jack rabbits fighting.
It's interesting, I think — if you want to understand the art of film — that the first video feels immediately and continuously hilarious and the second video — much longer and with insistent music — may not even make you laugh at all.
My first stab at analysis is that the darkness and absence of context in the first video makes it feel abstract and allegorical, causing you to instantly visualize the rabbits as stand-ins for human beings: I know people like that. Silly people are like that. Hey, we're all kind of like that.
You go hurtling through important thoughts quickly. It's not a nature film of curious animal behavior. It's a horror flick shocking us with a harsh look at how stupid we are.

You may not be interested in Watership Down, but Watership Down is interested in YOU.
It ain't funny to the jackrabbits and it sure wasn't funny to the loser. Did he lose access to female rabbits? Did he lose access to territory with plentiful food? He lost something that he didn't want to lose.
Notice towards the end of the video, there's fur flying. Rabbits have claws. Sharp, needle like claws. Imagine the damage two cats would do to each other doing that, & that's what's happening with those jack rabbits.
They're not boxing. They're trying to shred each other, like when a cat rolls on its back, grabs with its front paws, & starts kicking with its back legs, claws extended.
Fight Club.
The males are fully interested in other males.
Not to have sex with other males. But the pre-sex fighting is the meaning of life for them.
The dogs chase jack rabbits - actually 'hares' - occasionally but give up after about 20 feet cuz they're too slow.
2 chickens break up rabbit fight!
I'm thinking if Obama and a rabbit fought, it would look exactly the same.

Mother Nature has a wicked humor.

Odd. Rabbits fighting but not one rabbit-punch landed.
Where was Wile-E-Coyote?
The point of view is too far back to see the slashing claws.
It's funny because it looks like a slap fight.
Maybe when President Jimmy Carter was attacked by a rabbit, the rabbit thought that Carter was one as well.
It was the rich irony of nature. Or something.
They have been watching too many Stevie Seagull movies.
On Facebook I saw the following comment, which was described as "winning the internet:"
"Every bunny was Kung-Fu fighting!"
It made me think of Watership Down.
Who knew! There were *two* Energizer Bunnies.
It's not just looks like a slap fight, it sounds like a slap fight. A very girly slap-fight. This is Althouse saying, "Don't draft me! I fight like a jackrabbit!"
