I'll hear about it on Drudge tomorrow, unless it shows up before bedtime.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

I will follow until Florida, Pa, Ohio, and Mich are decided. If it looks like HRC wins those, it's beddy-bye time. If Trump wins those, I will stay up for the victory celebration.

Michael K म्हणाले...

If Trump looks to be winning I might stay up for a while but my bed time comes pretty early.

Carol म्हणाले...

I'll be pollwatching at the late voter HQ till closing time, then go to the Party party and watch the TVs there whilst drinking and eating. Our state's returns will be figured out about 9 pm MST.

It'll be fun no matter the outcome.

rhhardin म्हणाले...

The dog does not care about the election and has a pretty strict daily schedule as to bedtimes.

Ignorance is Bliss म्हणाले...

My general rule is not to gawk at car crashes, but I may have to make an exception, seeing as how I'm stuck in the car.

Nick Carter म्हणाले...

I'll be watching, but only at the results for the legalization initiatives. They are the only interesting story this cycle.

Brando म्हणाले...

Yeah, I actually start my vacation tomorrow so can stay up late if it is close. Will probably have some beer and bourbon handy.

Nonapod म्हणाले...

The American people get to choose the form of their destructor today. Which group of degenarate sociopaths will get to usher in our ruin? Which group will have their hands on the controls of the Titanic?

I apologize for being so negative, but I don't feel like celebrating or getting exciting over this grotesque circus.

Lyssa म्हणाले...

I'm fairly certain of the end result, so I'm less interested this year than I have been previously. I'll keep checking the news while we watch TV, but if it's still out at about 10:30 EST, I'll go ahead to bed (though I'll probably wake up at some point in the middle of the night and check my phone).

JPS म्हणाले...

Nonapod,

Don't apologize. Want to hear my irritating optimism?

We may be OK, somehow.

alan markus म्हणाले...

I will be watching the discussion here - much more interesting than what any talking heads on TV will have to say.

Patrick म्हणाले...

My son is really into the election and is having some friends over. He's 14, so that means I at least have to keep an eye on them. I am interested in the information, but have no desire to hear what the talking heads have to say.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

"I will be watching the discussion here - much more interesting than what any talking heads on TV will have to say."

Hey, good point! I should have provided that option: I will be hanging out on Althouse and seeing whatever is visible from this vantage point.

Agreed. I'd much rather read peoples thoughts and opinions here than anywhere else. A good group and a fair hostess.

rehajm म्हणाले...

With the presidential race it will either be over at 21:01 or you can go to bed since we won't know until after Thanksgiving.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

The interesting thing will be how many dump them Clintons like a bad memory and turn to the next young Democrat ... you know...there must be one ... well maybe they can nominate a Bush.

Bad Lieutenant म्हणाले...

People, we can do this!

All you disgustedibles, too good to vote - Hillary won't hear you.

Your once chance to strike a blow for freedom is to vote for Trump. He needs every vote, even in the safe states. Think of it in oh so many ways, but think of your country, and save us from Hillary Rodham Clinton and her clique!

I like what Tim in VT said: this is the event horizon for the Republic.

Last chance.

Curious George म्हणाले...

I don't know if Trump will win, but if he does I don't want to miss the heads exploding...I'll have two TVs on and recording.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

I'll be watching; I've done it since before high school, no reason to stop.

Bill Peschel म्हणाले...

We don't have cable or a smartphone, so online would be the only way I could view the results. That makes it easy for me to not find out until later.

Of course, I'll probably check Drudge before going to bed to see what happened, but that should be the extent of it.

The wife's been wanting to see a certain movie, and she learned yesterday it just came into the library. So perhaps we'll be sitting down around eight o'clock eastern, pop open a Troeg's Java Head, and watching....

You ready?

Captain America: Civil War

Roughcoat म्हणाले...

I'll likely check in here from time to time.

William म्हणाले...

It would be intensely enjoyable to stay up late and watch the various pundits curdle and sputter as they announce another Trump win, but that's not going to happen. Who wants to watch those assholes congratulate themselves on their sagacity and wisdom? This promises to be another unpleasant electoral experience. Pass.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

As a confirmed political junkie, I will be following it all in real time. I suspect we will know the winner of the presidential election when Virginia is decided since we will, by that time, also have a sense of the returns in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. My theory has long been that Trump most likely wins by holding all the Romney states, then adding OH, FL, and VA plus Iowa/Nevada/New Hampshire. If Clinton wins VA, then Trump really does have to win Michigan or Pennsylvania- and I just think it unlikely in that case. Now, if Trump were a standard Republican candidate, I would be 100% sure of that analysis, but Trump is different enough that normal electoral correlations might not be quite as predictive as normal.

All in all, I think Trump has about a 40-50% chance. I think the polling done in southern states this cycle are in deep error simply because the modelling is (almost has to) assuming Obama level turnouts from minorities. I find it fascinating that Trump has consistently polled better than Clinton in a nearly all white state like Iowa, but has struggled to poll better than Clinton in states like North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. I think the explanation lies in the fact that overestimation of minority turnout has a significantly larger effect in states with large minority populations. I will lay down my marker right here- Trump wins North Carolina by more than 3%, and Georgia by more than 7%.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

Any idea that Georgia is a battleground State is cheap propaganda. Trump has himself a blow out here.

jim म्हणाले...

Will watch results online, maybe streaming on YouTube.

Should be over early. Sweet irony that Trump's political nemesis (other than his own mouth) is something called The Blue Wall. After all, the GOP effectively built it - Donald Trump was their answer to the 2012 call for "outreach to minorities & women" - & they are now going to pay for it.

That the worst-run campaign in Americans' living memory kept 2016 even this close isn't an indictment of Clinton-Kaine so much as it is of America as a whole. That said campaign had vital aid in the form of over a billion dollars in free prime-time media (remember all that dramatic LIVE footage of an empty podium?) because the nominee reliably put on a good freak-show indicts the media. That so many praise the honesty of the objectively least honest candidate of the century - & pin their hopes for robust economic policy on someone who went bankrupt running a casino - indicts the electorate.

Humperdink म्हणाले...

If you want to watch online for the results, Realclearpolitics.com is probably the placed to go.

Clyde म्हणाले...

I'll be watching intently and drinking more than I probably should, either to celebrate or to drown my sorrows. Sadly, like the U2 song, our nation's sorrows will probably learn to swim.

OregonGuy म्हणाले...

It's hard to trust your fellow voters after two terms of President Obama.

Maybe I'm missing something, like the robust economy and jobs creation. And lowered health insurance costs. Maybe I'm too selfish.
.

Fabi म्हणाले...

I'll be "watching" at Althouse! Especially now that I can comment again.

Thanks again, Robert Cook.

Browndog म्हणाले...

I'm only interested to see if Trump takes my State of Michigan.

I honestly think he will, but you can't trust what goes on in Detroit and Flint.

I do know this: I have long planned to be fishing tomorrow, away from it all, and that's where I'll be.

Good luck, America

mockturtle म्हणाले...

I honestly think he will, but you can't trust what goes on in Detroit and Flint.

And what about Dearbornistan?

Simon म्हणाले...

I think it's best to wait and see what the lay of the land is. I would imagine that we'll get some early indicators, and if the results come in early in either Florida or NorCal, if Hillary wins either of them, then it's over and we call all move on.

Look, here's the silver-lining: In only a few hours, one of the most ghastly years of most of our lives is over and one of these terrible, terrible people and their deplorable supporters will be broken. The cloud is that America will have elected a crook or a knave. I recommend alcohol, pets, and throw-pillows in industrial quantities.

mockturtle म्हणाले...

their deplorable supporters will be broken

Not by a long shot! We have not yet begun to be deplorable! ;-)

320Busdriver म्हणाले...

As long as we have another poll, has the Professor ever conducted one on this blog that asked her readers and commenters what their household income is? I could not find it conducting a search for it. Maybe she does not care or finds it rude to ask. IDK

I am curious about it though.

Paddy O म्हणाले...

I'll try to avoid it as much as possible and likely eventually find out somehow because I can't avoid being online and someone is bound to mention what happened.

Darrell म्हणाले...

Trump appears to be winning.

Bad Lieutenant म्हणाले...

Darrell, data?

tcrosse म्हणाले...

Here in the Pacific time zone we don't have to stay up too late to know which way the wind is blowing. But it's not over 'til it's over, and even then it's not over.

Unknown म्हणाले...

I'm much more interested in politics than sports; election night is my Superbowl. I will drink and stay up as late as necessary to see the outcome.

mockturtle म्हणाले...

Rt1 Rebel, I enjoy sports a lot more than politics but will concede that politics are more important. That said, the Seahawks' win last night cheered me more than the election results probably will.

LuAnn Zieman म्हणाले...

I am a poll worker in a rural Wisconsin town hall. I began my job at 6:30 a.m. and finished at 3:10 p.m. Another poll worker will be taking my place until 8 p.m. poll closing. My least favorite voter came once again to my machine. He's an elderly gentleman who is terribly hard of hearing and looks exactly like Walter, the grouchy old man puppet that Jeff Dunham created. I absolutely sympathize with his hearing problem, but having to walk him through the process every time he comes to vote is trying my patience. It's not that I mind reminding people how to use the touch screen; it's that he is not in the least grateful. AND, he always makes clear he's voting for the Democrats. I don't want to know that. I don't know how in the world he ever managed to snag the sweet woman who is his wife.
