"White privilege and elitism are on the ballot. It's not just about defeating Trump...."

"[W]e need to defeat not just Trump, but whatever it is he springs from; the dying dinosaurs that exist in this country who miss the old way where the white man was going to run the show. Last month, we just got the second year in a row where the majority of kindergarteners in school in this country were not white.  So welcome to the new America.... [Trump is] the natural extension of everything that [Republicans] have believed in for the last 30 years. And it's like the gene pool has got more and more depleted and you end up in a science fiction show like the one we're in with this creature. It's like somebody went to Dr. Frankenstein last year and said, 'I need a candidate who is the embodiment of every awful male trait, every awful white man trait and every awful rich guy trait and roll that all into one candidate.['] In a way, it's a gift. It does become a referendum. He literally is a representative for each of these things that we've been seeing a gradual end to. The times have changed. The days of these dinosaurs are over. It's got to be hard on them. Nobody likes to give up power. We've been in charge for about 10,000 years, so it's a long run. We had a great streak."

Said Michael Moore (talking to Rolling Stone).

Here's what to watch for. Until the election, a vote for Hillary is a renunciation of Trump's offenses against democracy, his misogyny, his lack of presidential temperament. After the election, the size of the vote for Hillary will be treated as a mandate for her programs and her agenda. Depend on it.

M Jordan म्हणाले...

I still think Moore secretly likes Trump. Moore began his career as a populist defending the working class man. He lives in Traverse City, Michigan and mingles with this dinosaur breed. He actually likes the old white guys he derides here.

But Trump, of course, is anathema to the left and Moore has committed to the progressive left. So he must say these things. I sense a conflicted man, a white man for that matter.

And there's nothing I could add to the cacophony that would make it any worse than attacking the parents of a soldier who died in Iraq.

In my estimation, lying to the faces of Gold Star parents to deflect your responsibility for the the death of four Americans while in front of their coffins on the tarmac is "worse" than answering the attack of two Gold Star parents issued forth from the podium at the Democratic National Convention, especially where you had no responsibility whatsoever for his death.

Huh? Woman grew up in a house bigger than most of us lived in back then, in a nice neighborhood. She now terrorizes everyone who works for her. When she was at State, apparently, their senior security refused to work with her, because of how badly she treated them, and, thus, she got the rookies. Expect that the Secret Service is the same. Same rules of no eye contact, don't engage her in conversation. Etc. She won't compliment them for a job well done, but rather, just scream at them for screw ups, even if they are hers. Entitled? And, I remember Trump calling out his Secret Service detail after the Republican convention, and thanking them, along with other LEOs, the construction people who put the stage together, etc. Is this something that Crooked Hillary would ever do? Of course not. Of course, even though Trump is good with his staff (and Clinton is horrible), probably none have been as good as George W. Bush in recent history, who knew all the staffs' names, about their families, etc.

There's is an entire world out there run by people like Michael Moore. The US is, or was, unique in history as a place where you were able to be truly free. No longer. We were the second country in the world to end slavery and we had to kill hundreds of thousands of democrats to accomplish that.

The progressives hate freedom. They created slavery and now they have created an education system and an aristocracy that robs people of hope. They have purposely ruined the lives and opportunities of the non white people in this country. Once they rob them of hope they use them as an angry mob. Now they are making the ability to be free an issue of race to destroy it. They have destroyed every city they get control of. States like California and Illinois are falling apart out of the corruption they create.

We have been nice about this for a long long time. We have always known what these almost monolithicly white people have wanted all along. But Hillary is a step too far.

The one thing most revealing of the absolute thoughtlessness and lack of awareness of Moore and people espousing similar delusions, is that it has never occured to them that if they truly lived in the actual America they imagine, they would have been silenced, run out, or "disappeared" long ago.

Perhaps it is part of pride and self righteousness to believe they've 'fought back hard back' * to overcome and overturn the absolute ruthless iron hand of those they claim have totally dominated and continue to America and its culture.

You can tell Hillary is the white power candidate by the stuff in Wikileaks:

Note: Sources include Western intelligence, US intelligence and sources in the region.

1. With all of its tragic aspects, the advance of ISIL through Iraq gives the U.S. Government an opportunity to change the way it deals with the chaotic security situation in North Africa and the Middle East. The most important factor in this matter is to make use of intelligence resources and Special Operations troops in an aggressive manner, while avoiding the old school solution, which calls for more traditional military operations.
- email from HRC.

So she is sharing intelligence that his highly likely classified with her campaign manager, first off. Who wrote the words is not identified, but I am betting it was Sid Blumenthal, he of the $10K a month job at the "Clinton Foundation." I don't think either one of those guys had formal clearance.

But never mind... So the lesson HRC drew from Iraq was that our tactics were wrong, not the goal, not overthrowing a sovereign leader, but the tactics. Which explains her moves as Secretary of State in Libya and Syria.

I had a long argument IRL with a died in the wool Democrat the other day. This guy works in campaigns. He said I had to vote for Hillary rather than third party because Trump was too dangerous. I actually got him to shut up for a minute and think when I told him about the ads for Johnson in the 60's showing Goldwater, a flower and a nuclear explosion, I pointed out that after Johnson scared everybody away from Goldwater, over the nuke scare issue, he dragged us into Viet Nam.

I mean, it is so unlikely that Hillary would drag us into a war, isn't it!

But let's talk about how the Republicans are all racists!

Paul Snively म्हणाले...

Republicans don't have a problem with people who aren't white. Republicans have a problem with anyone who claims to be American, but gives strong indications that by "American," they mean "someone who wants the benefits of being here while subverting the system that made those benefits possible," which happens to largely be a northern Enlightenment European system, particularly strongly influenced by Scottish and English political and economic philosophy. In other words, it's not about race; it's about culture.

The real problem is that culture is highly correlated with race. "Inner city blacks" aren't often problematic because their skin is black, but because the culture is often (self-)destructive. Some inner-city blacks rise above that culture—often by "acting white."

As for Michael Moore, I confess to having bought his "Roger and Me" schtick. I had this crazy idea that "Documentary" meant "truthful." But then I learned that Moore and Roger Smith did meet, and the film's chronology was deceptively edited, establishing a pattern of lying that has been Moore's stock in trade ever since.

What's most tragic is the cynicism it breeds. Now you say "Documentary," and I hear "Propaganda."

Darrell म्हणाले...

Everyone votes for Trump. Measure voter fraud by how many votes Hillary receives.

Bob Boyd म्हणाले...

Does he imagine that his kind of dissent would be permitted (much less rewarded) in China, Russia, the Muslim Middle East, Africa India or East Asia? Really, he almost seems a Louis XV, gloating in "Apre moi, le deluge."

MayBee म्हणाले...

I don't think it's about color for most people. I think it is about a change in culture that many people don't see as for the better. Like the push to change pronouns, the violent protests that we've had in the past few years. And let's face it, the push for mandated diversity can be a very good thing, but it also by definition means if you fall on the wrong side of the diversity push it isn't you getting the job. The same reason out-groups push for mandated diversity is the exact same reason someone "white" may push against it. Because it hurts *them*.

And what frustrates people- what Michael Moore once knew- is that the people at the top making the decisions and the recommendations don't have to live with any of the consequences. They will always have their several homes and their kids' private university acceptances and their trips to London where they can talk about how embarrassing people who support Trump are.

This is one more reason I think our eternal political campaigns are hurting us a society.
There is nowhere else in our society where it is ok to talk so much as if another racial group is an "other". But that is what political posturing and reporting is all about. The black vote, the black community, the women's vote, the Hispanic issues. We are separated and pitted against each other. And we are supposed to think that doesn't bleed into society?

And when we talk about black issues, hispanic issues, women's issues- and focus on them- isn't there a group that isn't being represented in the debate? How do they push back, and get included, without then having to hear "Oh look, it's white men looking for 'white issues'- that's white priviledge!"

It's doing nothing but tearing the country apart. And it's all manipulated anyway.
You know, now that Trump is running and losing college educated and married white women- it's the first time this group (my group) is even included in the political group of "women". We hear Romney won this group-- but at the time it was all about "The War on Women" and how women were against Romney.

We did have a great streak. Old white men like Ron Reagan and G. H. W. Bush won the cold war -- I note that the present occupant of the White House seems bent on restarting it, and that the Democrat candidate to replace him displays a personal animosity towards the incumbent President of Russia and seems bent on continuing the current trends towards restarting the cold war, if not a nuclear exchange. But the sitting President of the United States and his likely successor are not old white men, so the threat of nuclear war is okay, I guess.

Who knew that "reset" meant going back to the days when kids were taught "duck and cover"?

We've never had an economy this bad this long, but stock prices are high on Wall Street and who cares how many people want work but have given up looking for it? Besides, the President is not an old white man so it's all good. And his likely successor loves her that Wall Street and is much loved in return.

The incumbent President of the United States inherited two wars, one of which was essentially won and the other arguably still winnable. Now we are engaged in six wars (that we know about), if we include Yemen, where we're "merely" lobbing missiles back at Houti rebels who are firing on our Navy vessels. But he's not an old white man, so it's all good.

J. Farmer म्हणाले...

@Big Mike:

As much as I loathe nearly all of Obama's foreign policy decision, the roots were sewn by his predecessor in the massive overreaction to 9/11. As I used to be fond of saying over a decade ago, the most striking thing about Bush's neoconservatism was how unconservative it is. I guess I could've added it also isn't "neo," since it was merely a continuation of all the same dumb progressive idealism that led Wilson to his catastrophic decision to drag the country into the First World War, easily the single worst foreign policy decision the US ever made.

damikesc म्हणाले...

Couldn't agree more. I'm fucking tired of politics all the damned time. I want to not have to think about how the government is fucking up today. I'd like an escape. And the Progs are so damned determined to insure that there is no escape.

And when we talk about black issues, hispanic issues, women's issues- and focus on them- isn't there a group that isn't being represented in the debate? How do they push back, and get included, without then having to hear "Oh look, it's white men looking for 'white issues'- that's white priviledge!"

Thing is, I'd contemplate entertaining this shit-on-stilts as a cogent argument if there even a modicum of consistency. Using the logic of the Left, my two boys have MORE advantages in life than Obama's daughters. Does anybody not find this logic mind-bogglingly stupid?

It's like "cultural appropriation". Why is it "offensive" for me to wear a sombrero and NOT offensive for a minority to drive a car. White folks made cars. Planes also. Do minorities refuse to use them because of cultural appropriation? No. Never once. And we sit back and let them basically claim that white people have no culture at all worth preserving when, bluntly, the majority of useful shit in the world came from us.

I'll forego everything blacks invented if they forego everything whites invented. Otherwise, they're full of shit. They are living comfortable lives on the backs of my people who did the hard work to develop this society.

It's basically turning whites like me into "racists". You want to blame me for all of the world's problems? Then let's take a look at what your group brings to the table. Blacks sold their own brethren as slaves to whites. Can anybody explain that? Has anybody tried? Does Africa owe "former slaves" anything?

Moore is an interesting example of a person who seems to be consumed with rage against almost everyone.

Read on how the fervently pro-union Moore treated his employees who tried to unionize.

When it comes to buying a home, I can only guess why the Michigan-native chose 97% white Torch Lake to 80% black Detroit.

It is amazing how much these progressives who bemoan how unfairly blacks are treated by police live in the enclaves where the residents expect and demand that exact sort of treatment.

At least McCarthy was worried about Communists overall (not just Russians) infiltrating our government. Hillary just wants to make Putin her bête noire because he thinks Obama is a lightweight non-entity. You know, like Barack actually is.

How did we go from "Russia is not our geo-political foe" to "their are our top priority"? Iran is a way bigger concern, but Obama can't blow them enough.

As much as I loathe nearly all of Obama's foreign policy decision, the roots were sewn by his predecessor in the massive overreaction to 9/11.

I thought Afghanistan was necessary, but still being there is counter-productive. I thought Iraq was a noble mission but also not worth the blood.

What is our issue in Syria? We can side with one horrendous group...or a different equally horrendous group. There's no plus to us even being there. I hate that Russia has invaded Ukraine, but we can't be asked to pull Europe's bacon out of the pan all of the time. They HAVE to do something on their own.

What was interesting was a Cuban theologian talking about de-colonialism, etc. Along the way he made two interesting points. One, how bad NAFTA is for the people of Latin America, and how Trump is opposed to NAFTA actually is better for the people. Second, that the mass immigration of people to the US means a huge loss of the most productive, industrious people from Latin America, and that losing these people is a major problem. He said these things and added what seemed a bit to be an ironic shrug, as if Trump is of course the unacceptable candidate no matter what.

There are a lot of signals this wasn’t the country it was 30 years ago, and a lot of people feel that they are losing power. It may not be that they are upset about other people doing better, but they feel they are losing something.

I don’t know what you do with that. One problem is it keeps getting coded as a conversation about racism. And that makes people very, very defensive and very intent on winning it — and I think that’s creating an exceptionally toxic system in our informational commons, where people have to spin off into places where they’re safer from the other side of this debate because it’s such an emotionally difficult debate to be a part of and accused of.

I mean that from both sides. Trump has done that in a way that’s helping him. But what comes after him? How does American society absorb this in a more productive way than Trump?

Molly Ball
I think this is the identity politics election and I think it is true that a lot of it is reactionary. It’s reactionary in the sense that it’s a reaction to the rising identity politics of the left and of minorities.

You have a feminist movement more active and galvanized than it’s been in my lifetime. You have a civil rights galvanized and active and demanding in a forthright way not happening in the ’90s or the first decade of this century. And so a lot of the anti-political correctness sentiment Trump is tapping into, and the tribalism in his followers, is a reaction to what they see as the tribal assertions of their opponents.

The Trump supporters I’ve spoken to, that’s a lot of what they talk about. I’ve talked to Trump supporters right after he declined, briefly, to disavow the Ku Klux Klan. They said they didn’t understand why Trump should denounce the Klan if Obama doesn’t have to denounce Black Lives Matter.

To these Trump supporters, those were equivalent racist movements. So there’s a feeling — I’m not saying it’s correct, of course — but in terms of understanding how people feel, identity is a very powerful force. And a lot of white people feel they don’t have an outlet to express their identity the ways others do.

Darrell म्हणाले...

Except that a lie. Trump DID disavow the Klan multiple times a day before on the same network--CNN. The next day they gave him a faulty earpiece and asked him to disavow the Klan and David Duke. After saying to repeat the question multiple times, he said "I don't know who that is but I don't know him. Never met him." It was a bullshit setup. Like when Letterman talked to Bush using a satellite with an extraordinary delay and made him look like an idiot, laughing 45-seconds late and answering the previous question.

Isn't it Hillary running on the imminent nuclear war issue? She says how dangerous it would be to have the volatile Trump in charge of the nuclear button. She even said at the last debate that if unstable Donald gives the command, the generals have to unleash the nukes, and it takes as little as 4 minutes.

MayBee म्हणाले...

If Trump gets into office, Hillary is saying, Trump will get up in the middle of the night and unleash a nuclear weapon rather than a tweet.

In the last debate Hillary said, Trump is "casual about the use of nuclear weapons"

So who is saying nuclear war is imminent?

Russophobia is embedded into the elite system. It was just four years ago when Romney was labeling them our greatest geostrategic foe. Most of it stems from the fact that the US relies on WWII and Cold War metaphpors incessantly to justify its global meddling and interventionism. And it really kicked into high gear during Clinton's presidency. Neocons supported Clinton, and he likewise bought into all their short-sighted, global hegemony, unipolar nonsense. Whether it was constantly interfering in Southeast Europe, supporting separatist movements, pushing for radical market economy reforms that tended mostly to enrich corrupt oligarchs, or needlessly pushing NATO up to Russia's borders. The first "reset" of the US-Russia relationship came at the hands of George W. Bush. Who can forget his silly remark about looking into Putin's eyes? But even then the US needlessly antagonized Russia by ballyhooing so called color revolutions in Georgia, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan and supporting separatist movements in the South Ossetia and Abkhazia regions of Georgia. Obama didn't skip a beat when it came time for his administration to support antagonistic movements in Ukraine. Victoria Nuland, wife to one of the Kagan brood, was a big player here. Much of the complaint from the right at the time was that Obama was not being antagonistic towards Russia enough.

In truth, the left/wright, Democrat/Republican dichotomy is pretty useless for trying to make sense of these things, since both parties are essentially run from the same elite core. Consider using a nationalist vs. globalist binary , and things tend to look much clearer. Donald Trump has built his campaign on a nationalist platform, and I've always said his candidacy was a hail mary pass. The American nation has been splintering for the last half-century, and we've likely passed some kind of tipping point. You thought post-Soviet Yugoslavia was a mess? Just wait for post-white America.

Clinton did nothing. Nothing! The "neocons" appeared mostly during Bush's term when they supported going into Iraq.

I supported the Iraq invasion but for more complicated reasons. We have l]had long debates about it at Chicagoboyz.

Bush was faced with a revolt by the Saudis after 9/`11. They wanted us out because our troops were threatening their religious "virginity."

Martha McSally, now my Congresswoman in Tucson, was an A 10 pilot and refused to wear a burkha. If Bush had left after 9/11, he would have been seen as defeated by Saddam who was making a mockery of sanctions. It's a long story and, if you are interested, you can find the discussion at Chicagoboyz.

I do think Bush botched the occupation.

The 10,000 years claim of a "run" by white men is what might be called a mortal credibility wound, if the territory or area of influence in question could ever be settled. Tamerlane, Kublai Khan, the last Ottoman Emperor who sided with the Axis naturally, all had some influence during that period (if even to observe how not to do it), not to mention Assyrians, Sumerians, Babylonians, Persians, Egyptians, Carthaginians, etc., if history books are to be believed. The "run" included agriculture, metallurgy, chemistry, steam power, electricity distribution, internal combustion, industrial scale killing in the name of socialism, Nazism, and other collectivist, coercive notions and to stop the agents of such notions, rocketry, exploration of space, and much, much, more. I, for one, am looking forward to more inventions such as these coming out of the Southern Hemisphere and the other geographic and cultural areas apparently celebrated by Michael Moore (though he does not seem to live in any). Now that math and science are apparently being rejected by these new thinkers and their shock troops, such inventions are likely to be amazing to behold.
