Heights never bothered me........and then I became older.
Most ski lifts are never more than 15-20 feet high, but sometimes they go to 40-70 feet. I can hear my sphincter slam shut.

Over/under on the number of months after her retirement until she starts posting cat videos?

I'd be more impressed with that if it were unedited.

Unlike the edits of the mainstream media, I think it was edited for time rather than content.

Now that you're retired, Althouse, you could do that!

I remember when I went to the top of Lake Placid's Whiteface (about three decades ago) intending to ski the Olympic downhill course. I thought I was a pretty decent skier, I probably could have made it onto my local mountain's junior ski race team if I had dedicated myself to that goal.

It was the most nervous I've ever been on a chairlift. Back then the lift was a double with minimal safety features even by the standards of those days. Then I looked down the hill. Ooh boy. I skied that pretty cautiously, I was amazed that Olympic skiers went down that mostly in an aerodynamic tuck. It really made clear the difference between a very good casual skier and an Olympic class skier.

Personally, I think anyone attempting that trick is insane. The man is wearing a safety harness, ½ harness actually, and the line around his waist had a tether attached to the slack line. But if he falls, and ends up hanging from the line, I'm not sure what happens next. But then, maybe he did fall from the line more than once, and the video representing a succesful crossing is really just the last video.

He's still nuts.

And if you genuinely have to take risks to be happy, why no do something useful that's also dangerous? Join the Army. Become a firefighter. Research Ebola in the field. Say something positive about Trump in social media.

Daring feat. The video quality is impressive -- I didn't know GoPro cameras had that resolution.

GoPro is egging on a lot of very risky behavior. People are trying things they would otherwise not risk. Maybe not a bad thing but a thing nonetheless.

I don't know. People have been doing risky things like skydiving for a long time. GoPro lets them record themselves doing stuff we otherwise wouldn't get to see. Perhaps some people push themselves harder to get a cooler video, though.

No worries: he has Obamacare, but like Medicare and Medicaid, it does NOT pay for treatment overseas. Why do the non-risk-averse continue to subsidize couch potatoes?
