Best election ever.
We're all against foreigners trying to influence our elections, so the Dalai Lama is in the same boat as Vladimir Putin I guess. So sad, so very sad.

Many years ago, when I flew first class on long business trips (the good old days) I sat next to a very nice young (25?) woman who had been a speechwriter for the Dali for several years. She spoke four languages and was in charge of making sure "his words" sounded right in a particular culture. IIRC there were about a dozen people like her on staff.
I am still struck by that in so many ways.

This Lama guy is like that Argentine Jesuit the Catholics of Rome made a replacement Pope. Both are on the world stage performing as if they are High Priests of traditional Religions, and as such both are intentional frauds.

Just goes to show that being elected to the position of Dalai Lama doesn't guarantee spiritual enlightenment or higher consciousness. I can't imagine any spiritual teacher publicly mocking anyone, let alone based on physical characteristics. The Dalai Lama is famous for his laughter and sense of humor, but that doesn't include other people laughing at him or his philosophy (pizza order -- one with everything). He was noticeably defensive and hostile towards the interviewer, only laughing when the interviewer became visibly uncomfortable. Trump is truly an iconoclast: first the Pope, now the Dalai Lama. Who's next?
The celebrity Dalai Lama has made a swell living for well over 30 years speaking at college campuses before adoring crowds of progressive peabrains and college kids. He knows which side his tea is buttered.

Well, here I am, also a foreigner attempting to influence a US election, and not for the first time.
But in the direction opposite to the Dalai Lama.
Wow. You'd think a supposed holy man would pray or meditate or whatever Lamas do, for someone's improvement; not mock them like a mean girl.
Well, Tibet was a vicious, cruel country before China over-ran them. They'd be no better if they ruled themselves. Fuck the Dalai Lama.
Funny, the Dalai Lama has made what seemed sensible remarks in the past. Who knows? It doesn't affect me, and I doubt it affects the election. I suppose remotely there could be some China angle.

damikesc, it is perhaps a modern concept, but we believe that locals are allowed to do pretty much what they want to each other, within their own borders, as long as it doesn't leak out too much, but the neighbors aren't allowed to move in and start doing the same to everyone there.
Think of it like fighting with your brother. Should the kid next door arrive and start insulting either of you, that kid very likely will be attacked by both of you.
