"Key assertions by Hillary Clinton in defense of her email practices have collapsed under FBI scrutiny."

AP writers Stephen Braun and Jack Gillum do some useful itemization:
CLINTON: "I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material." News conference, March 2015....

CLINTON: "I never received nor sent any material that was marked classified." NBC interview, July 2016....

CLINTON: "I responded right away and provided all my emails that could possibly be work related" to the State Department. News conference, March 2015....

CLINTON: "I thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for personal emails instead of two." News conference, March 2015....

CLINTON: "It was on property guarded by the Secret Service, and there were no security breaches. ... The use of that server, which started with my husband, certainly proved to be effective and secure." News conference, March 2015.

CLINTON campaign website: "There is no evidence there was ever a breach."

CLINTON: "I opted for convenience to use my personal email account, which was allowed by the State Department." News conference, March 2015.

You needed the AP to tell you this?

This was the true power of Comeys statement. He had one chance to see justice served and this was the path he took. Let's see how it plays out.

Morning RINO on MSNBC this morning showed a summary of Hillary's lies with Comey's refutations in between. Just shredded Hillary. I thought it was Trump ad. Just devastating.

What difference does it make at this point?

She belongs in jail.

I have little doubts that the press is going to ignore this and report all attacks as "purely political" and based on "old news".

Upon reflection, this seems to be a response by Comey to orders from Lynch, after her meeting with Bill C, to drop the investigation.

I can't explain why he would do what he did otherwise. His statements about a "reasonable prosecutor" just don't make sense. There are prosecutions going on right NOW on the terms he said don't apply.

I don't trust my judgement anymore, since I wasn't cynical enough to see this coming, but I do entertain the possibility that the press was actually, underneath it all, stupid enough to believe Clinton, which we dismissed as a possibility, and simply assumed they were shilling for her. If that is the case, they have to be undergoing some shock to see her so obviously shown to be the liar right wingers have been calling her since the cattle futures incident.

I am not sure that Hillary can make another "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" speech and win them back. But like I said, I have been insufficiently cynical in the past.

The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails ...

Again, barring an economic collapse, Hillary is easily elected.

Keep hope alive!

btw, the American people er average voter have the attention span of a peanut.

Apologies to peanuts.

I yield back the balance of my time.

Sounding a little shrill, there, Shiloh.
Something wrong?

Brando म्हणाले...

We all knew her defenses were bunk from the beginning, and she has never submitted to careful but relentless public grilling over it. The only question she should have to answer is "why did you set up the private servers to do this?" Anything along the lines of "Powell did it too" or "I didn't want to carry a second device" must be brushed aside so we get back to the real question--why go through so much trouble to route all her e-mail outside the State system?

This is just a perfect example of why no one trusts the Clintons. This is what they do, all the time, and they can count on (a) the Dems giving her cover, as ridiculous as they look when they do so, and (b) the GOP being so hapless they cannot snare them because they miss the forest from the trees.

Lincoln was wrong. The election of Obama twice means that all one needs to do is "fool enough of the people enough of the time." Hillary is a lock...

Humperdink म्हणाले...

Shiloh, you don't seem to handling this "victory" very well.

She was still calling it a security check up, or some such thing, just a few weeks ago.

To anyone who believed Hillary's explanations, there's this. What disturbs me more than anything are the people who can see the evidence of her lies and criminality and still vote for her. That's why I can never again vote for any Democrat for any office. When they ignore the law for political motives, they're unfit for any office.

Too bad politicians aren't held to the same standards that the military academies have in their honor codes: "We will not lie, steal, or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does." Sadly, even the academy honor codes aren't enforced as strictly as they used to be.

cubanbob म्हणाले...

Larry J besides parasites criminals and crazies and their families are core Democrat Party supporters.

The Democrats already let her skate!

Sebastian म्हणाले...

"see exactly how Comey's remarks refute these things" So? Some of us saw it as soon as she opened her mouth.

Doesn't matter. Enjoy your "discussion" of Hill misdeeds. No one cares. Dems will do their duty. So will you.

I have to hand it to Bill Clinton. Whoever said that he is no longer a master politician is dead wrong. He is equivalent to a chess Grand Master at politics. Everyone thought that he blundered badly by meeting with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac. However, what was the upshot of it? Lynch said that she would defer the decision to the FBI. A few days later, Comey, who would normally pass his findings on to the DOJ to make the final decision, instead was able to recommend that Hillary not be prosecuted. Thus Lynch was spared from having to make the decision and nobody could fault her for it.

Given that the whole thing was rigged, she wasn't inaccurate. She'd have been accurate in calling it "kabuki theater"

Good point--at the time I was baffled, wondering why Bill would do something so dumb and basically force Lynch to indict if the FBI recommended it. I wonder if he had advance knowledge of how the FBI was going to go? Or maybe figured his tarmac meeting would force the FBI to announce early so they could put this all behind them in time for the convention?

And coaxing his golf buddy (and allegedly rape-plane buddy) Trump to run for president last year will go down in history as a masterful stroke. Even if Trump somehow wins this year, he's still the best chance of a Hillary victory. You can't say Bill isn't trying to make amends for his dalliances.

And now folks you need to apologize to Richard Nixon. He only erased 30 seconds.

By decent I assume you mean one of the Uniparty candidates like Rubio or Walker. We could hope for slightly slower deficit growth and a new entitlement like the last time they had power. Maybe we could nominate the guy who wrote Obamneycare again.

You folks keep pointing out the weak milquetoast candidates the GOP put up this year, but considering this is an election of voting "against" someone, the GOP would have a much better shot at winning with a non-entity rather than someone who is going to handle all of Hillary's turnout for her. At this stage, even "low energy" Jeb would be way ahead of her.

Nichevo म्हणाले...

You know, Brando and you other sore losers, if you're not going to support the party's nominee, you could have the kindness and sense to just shut up.
