"The bright, wide-eyed, pupils-dilated, bushy-tailed look with the over-zealous grin is a dead giveaway in c.o.c.a.i.n.e users."

"Surprised her Fox employer didn't catch on sooner or maybe they just thought she was high energy."

The top-rated comment on a Daily Mail article titled "Fox Business producer, Chipotle executive and Merrill Lynch banker arrested in huge crackdown on cocaine buyers in New York."

Looking at the picture of her — and, really, go to the link and see the picture — I'm thinking that's a look I see way too often on TV. It annoys me, whatever the cause. Horrific.

Drugs as the problem in some flick can be a final straw for skipping the rest. It means writers with no ideas.

"It means writers with no ideas"

I know. Reality is boring I guess. And reality is unbelievable too, fiction rarely goes where experience leads, because it would seem silly or contrived.

I think of the character Julie Brown played on "Newhart". Irrepressibly perky.

Drugs are a way to enjoy being half crazy instead of learning by discipline and training to endure it. Ergo:religion comes in either a drug type or a discipline type.

The surprise is how easily most people can be talked into taking self destructive drugs.

we need some white people to go to jail for drugs. bravo

I'd think facial recognition software could easily be modified to determine who is using cocaine. Camera tracks you, computer says, "Beep!", police dispatched, straight to jail.

No need for courts, no need for trials. Profit!

So the government can't tell you what to do with your genitals, but it can tell you what to do with your nose? I wonder which penumbra gives Prof. Althouse that insight?

Just to be clear, massive ring? 7th degree is possession.

The drug war is a huge waste of time and capital.

Who cares if she snorts coke? Unless she tramples the rights of others, she can do all the blow she wants.

That picture reminds me of an old joke I just made up -

What happens if you don't pay your exorcist?
You get re-possessed.

The Pro-choice Church was founded when they pulled an abortionist out of the twilight zone, followed by the "unpredictable" escape of Planned Parenthood (i.e. clinical cannibals). Only with progress (i.e. monotonic change), will there be a scientific remedy to determine what else lurks in the dark fringes.

Any word on the case against Barry and his dealers?

People who have harmed nobody but themselves are handcuffed like desperadoes. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is free to campaign for president. TANJ!*

I was told in college by my druggy freshman room mate and his druggy pals that I should never do drugs, as I was weird enough without them. Never been sure if that was meant as a compliment or not.

LOL is that a euphemism for unemployed? BTW I think I agree with Clyde. It's way way over the top to put these people in handcuffs.

Had anyone heard of these people prior to this story? Why is this a story in Daily Mail?

I think it's just protocol. People in shock do weird things, and can hurt themselves.

Personally, I think they will all get off by enrolling in a treatment facility, and promising to testify at the dealers trial. He's really the one they want. They rest of them would just be wasting jail space.

I've had some post op experience with morphine like drugs. I saw nothing to recommend that deadened, blurred around the edges state. It beats being in pain, but even reality--which generally sucks--is better than being on opioids. Cocaine and amphetamines are a different matter. They're far more seductive and invigorating. In the short term they make life better........We can all be grateful that JFK negotiated the Cuban missile crisis while on speed and coke. It helped him to remain focused. And I'm sure Freud gained many valuable insights into the workings of the human mind during his time as a coke fiend.

It has been my observation that police and prosecutors are able to very quickly internalize whichever idiotic proscriptions the venal morons in the legislature write into law. Pass a law against hugging your grandchildren, and you will see Officer Braxton bitch-slapping granny as he muscles her into the back of the patrol car, so the DA can perp-walk her out front of the courthouse.

It sickens me to see honest, decent, innocent people abused by tax-supported scum-of-the-fucking-Earth.
