Don't you want to lean on the Bernie Sanders guy with the silky-soft, mouse-brown raincoat?
ADDED: Meade was consuming this through headphones and I heard him say "Oh, my gosh." What was that? Oh, he was just repeating what some young woman in the video was saying as the guy in the raincoat embraced her. Then Meade said "I think Gloria Steinem was right" and starts singing "Where the Boys Are."

Real upbeat, feels good, emotional.... then Bernie starts talking....THUD!
♫Where the bros are
where the bros are
where the bros are
welfare states for me♫
Excellent Meade. I suspect Steinem is right about going to meet the boys and I suspect most of the boys are going to meet the girls. Yo Meade...the campaign theme out to be "Money for nothing and chicks for free".
Ewww...no, Professor, I wouldn't! :)
Woodstock in a blizzard. The Winter of Love. There is nothing new under the sun.
They always lean on old songs at these times. Nothing new is applicable.
In BernieWorld, everything is free! That will attract all kinds, particularly the unemployable.

Fifty Shades of Something
That guy is considered a catch?
Whatever the band's politics (internal or national), the Magnetic Zeros have sucked since they kicked Jade out.
Do you think that guy's got a bad temper like Jenny's SJW boyfriend in Forrest Gump?
"Money for nothing, chicks for free." LOL
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
That they'll be givin' away
When we all live together
I love that, "Maybe I'll be there" Not "Baby I'll be there" Can't even commit to showing up for handouts with her. But still she will give him what he needs. Whoever said that "women's lib appears to have been invented by horny teenage boys" was onto something.
I'm sure an 80 year old woman has her thumb directly on the pulse of young women everywhere. Win or lose, if Sanders accomplishes anything, I hope it's getting rid of all the old wood in the Democratic party. For good. They are embarrassing.
Let's say Gloria is right.
She loses either way, because you can't say what she said whether it is true or not (those are feminist rules), and if it's true, well, Gloria's a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle theory is out the window.
Maybe these swooning girls in the video are the normal ones, looking for a man to lean on.

Indeed you have a point. Sanders will finally clear out the Clinton deadwood out of the party and a 40+ States wipeout of Sanders and a lot of pickups by the Republicans downstream will restore sanity to the Democratic party.
The DNC will not let Sanders win. Period.

Who are you?....and what have you done with Garage??
Thank God for the Internet! That weasly raincoat wearing peace and love fucker will NEVER be able to attain a position of responsibility for the rest of his life. I predict he ends up dying of a tropical disease in some third world country while working for an NGO.
♫ I dont want any Bernie else
When I think about you I touch myself ♫
"I'm sure an 80 year old woman has her thumb directly on the pulse of young women everywhere."
She may be trying to work that thumb around to the carotid artery. Then squeeze. "Take that, you dewey cheeked firm assed little bitches."
Who are you?....and what have you done with Garage??
Don't worry, when Hillary finally snuffs this Bernie thing, using more and more Iowa tactics, you know, like the district where only one guy showed up to caucus, and he was a Sanders supporter, and the delegate still went to Hillary? More stuff like that, and garage will be right back on the band wagon slinging monkey poo.
But for now, good on him.
Come clean with Gene.
Whole lotta smug going on about how easy it will be for the Republicans if Bernie is nominated.

I remember when it was "they" would never let a black man be nominated, much less elected president. Until "they" did.
Bernie Sanders absolutely can be nominated and may in fact be nominated by the party that chose McGovern, Mondale, and Dukakis. Sanders is the McGovern for a new generation.

Bernie may be harder for the GOP to beat than Hillary. I still want him to get the nomination. A Hillary Clinton presidency would be so much worse that even if I thought she only had a 30% chance of winning, it is not worth the risk.
You know there are plenty of dopes who will turn and vote for Hillary after spending the last year denouncing her "because she's still infinitely better than ANY Republican!" (gag.)
Trying to shove along the worse Dem candidate is a losing game. Dem voters do not get all principled and sit out or sabotage elections en masse the way GOP voters did in 2010 and 2012. If you get a shitty candidate nominated, rest assured that shitty candidate will get (near as matters) just as many votes as the other candidate would have.

I was in college in 1972 and couldn't believe the crap that McGovern said during the campaign. What a wipeout it was for the Democrats! I thought the rules were changed to prevent this sort of thing. What are super-delegates for, if not to keep the elites in power?

I don't remember that. I remember the opposite, with people falling all over themselves telling us all about how great Obama was:
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

You're right, with the execption of Bill CLinton: "A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee,"

One example. Yet this same time there was all the hand-wringing about whether Obama was "black enough" (and about what the hell that even means) and simultaneously how surely America was too racist to elect a black man as president.
They don't sing the "Internationale" anymore.
I like the "Arise ye prisoners of starvation" version.
Nice tune, in the beginning anyway.

I believe it was those same super-delegates that gave the win to Obama.

I think that's probably the best nickname for Bill Clinton I've ever heard.
Commies used to have much more style -
Ay Carmela! - very much worth watching - get the whole thing -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCchEbswURs
The other side were much better shots though.
I can't ridicule Sanders and his supporters without ridiculing Trump and his supporters.
They have more in common than either would like to admit.
So where does Sanders stand on our only real allies in the Muslim world that are Jordan and Egypt? If he is against them, then he is probably against Israel too. Many Marxist Jews hate Israel for some Intellectual pride reason.
I have never seen Sanders' position on Israel mentioned in any media.
The actual song - "Ay Carmela"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tvG7R3Rs2M
The Commies won the PR war going away, 1936-39
They owned the international press and images as if the other guys weren't even trying.
But they lost anyway.
The family was purely Republican sympathizers in those days.
Used to have some old timers sing "Ay Carmela" even in my time.
When I first read "Don't you want to lean on the Bernie Sanders guy with the silky-soft, mouse-brown raincoat?" I thought it meant lean on him like a mob enforcer.
If it did mean that, I must answer in the affirmative.
They don't sing the "Internationale" anymore.
No, they sing "Imagine." Same song.
Imagine that that slovenly. physically weak specimen of a "man" (all too typical millennial) checking himself in the mirror before he leaves to face the world and satisfied he has the right look walks out the door.
I would have loved the Sanders campaign (as shown in this video) when I was in college. At that time we had songs with words like "Nothing is real/Nothing to get hung about/ Strawberry fields forever." I thought that was gone; but no, it is intermittently eternal apparently. "Feeeel the burn", genius slogan/song for twenty-year-olds.
These kids will have to deal with the world Obama created - with ISIS, without allies, with debt, without jobs, with diseases, without families. Sing while you can, while the blizzard is still outside.
Google "total delegates for Clinton" and check out the super delegates count.
That was an excellent idea, AllenS:
But these numbers mean Clinton has already gotten 15 percent of the delegates needed — two months before any voting has begun. In other words, Clinton starts with a 15 percentage point head start over Sanders.
The other side were much better shots though
"Remember the war against franco?
That's the kind where each of us belongs.
Though he may have won all the battles,
We had all the good songs."
—Tom Lehrer
I watched that on cspan yesterday. Being a fairly low info voter, I was not aware the candidates were live in New Hampshire. Anyway, that singer was all about, "c'mon everybody" and "join right in" Dead silence. It was embarrassing. Then the old guy shows up, even more disappointing. Then who? I forget. Then Trump rally. He is not bad off the cuff. More energy and actually seemed enthusiastic. Then Rubio rally. He talks well but even I am becoming familiar with the "my parents were immigrants" thing.
Then Meade said "I think Gloria Steinem was right"...
Realizing that Ann needs him like a fish needs a bicycle.
You two are like the low self-esteem twins.

Yes, they are. And they reflect the shitheel morons like you who have voted them into office.
Nice to see that even the likes of you can have a moment of lucidity. Your fucked-up values, low standards and single-digit IQ notwithstanding.
I mean all this in the most respectful way, of course.
The woman on stage at the end.
Judging by that picture, I'd say the guys are in it for the girls. More peace, love and the rest at home - as it should be.
What guy wants to be ordered by a bellicose old lady into another Mid-Eastern hellhole of a useless war and his eminent death, when the alternative is the above?
You guys must think the republic is way more suicidal than it really is.
There is not a teaspoon of testosterone in that bunch.
"where the boys are"
yeah. and where have all the flowers gone too?
A thought just occurred to me- maybe it's obvious and everyone else has already had this insight but I havent seen it discussed- that the appeal of Sanders is as a father figure. He's a perfect stand in for the provider role of the socialist state, isn't he? And a generation of kids, many without fathers or with inadequate male role models anyway- is drawn to him.
So maybe Gloria Steinem was partly right, but instead of boyfriends the girls are looking for Daddy.
Let's bring it all back!
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
- Krumhorn
Well, I lasted through all of 9 seconds of that video. Gag.
Here is a post where a woman (Emily Ratajkowski who might almost be asoft core pron star) says she was strongly attacked on the Internet for announcing her support of Bernard Sanders:
https://medium.com/@lleeiii/this-is-what-happens-when-a-woman-supports-bernie-sanders-online-42b642ba673f
This was her introcution of Bernard Sanders:

She then posted about that and got somewhat vicious pushback.
