The Sultan of Brunei declares that the punishment for illegally celebrating Christmas to be up to 5 years in prison.
Muslims are forbidden from doing anything Christmas-y, like putting up Christmas decorations or wearing Santa Claus hats. Christians may celebrate, but only in private.

Can't accuse the Sultan of cultural appropriation.
"Christians can celebrate but only in provate."
A long-standing goal of the Left as well.
Well, that does it for me.
I am NOT going to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr nor Eid Al-Adha.
Tit for tat. Screw them.
A truly devout Muslim and infamous hedonist.
He likes to pander to Islamist, while maintaining a lifestyle that, well, isn't very devout let's say.
Lots of Filipino OCW's (Overseas Contract Workers) in Brunei. Nearly all are Christian.
But Islam is still a religion of peace. Hillary and Obama have told me so.
Christmas in Brunei:
Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise!
Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
If our President talked less fearfully about Muslims, this Brunei guy wouldn't be so fearful of Christianity. Am I right?
So tolerant.
AHA! So this is why progressives want to let huge numbers of Muslims in the country- to get rid of the Christians! But what happens when the Christians are gone and the place is lousy with Muslims? Reach for the Kurdish? They bring in the Kurds to get rid of the Muslims who got rid of the Christians....
What's the current punishment at the University of Wisconsin?
No Lyle, you're not right.
I imagine Starbucks in Brunei offers Christmas Blend, too.
Muslims in countries that are majority Muslim are awful, but Muslims in countries where they are a non-persecuted minority are good citizens. How can we make the latter happen?
Wait, doesn't that blind sheikh that lived in NYC wear a Santa hat?
Nothing says "religion of peace" like 5 years in the slammer for not doing what it or one of its appointed leaders declares.
Beginning to sound a lot like the US, you know.
Skyped with my Lebanese daughter yesterday. I was actually shocked that Her neighborhood had more Christmas decorations than ours.
Funny how those who don't follow true Islam manage to run the countries but the Islamic scholars at western universities are the ones who know what true Islam is or is not. I don't care what some Harvard professor has to say about Islam. I care what the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and the Grand Mufti of Syria has to say about Islam.
An emissary of the "religion of peace" practicing peaceful and the hue and protesting cry from peaceful Muslims worldwide is deafening.
Isn't it?
So he's a pig. Someone expected something else?
Here's a bit more on just how pious and chaste the sultan is:

God rest ye merry gentlemen...
These Muslims remind me of Khan and what Spock warned Spock about.
But unlike Spock, I would have sent them back with the missiles to the Vengeance, still ticking.
"Muslims are forbidden from doing anything Christmas-y" translated into English would read "Muslims are forbidden to do anything Christmas-y." Those who insist on using "from" need to say "Muslims are prohibited from doing anything Christmas-y." Don't feel bad: Eugene Volokh consistently makes the same mistake.
The Godfather said...
"Muslims in countries that are majority Muslim are awful, but Muslims in countries where they are a non-persecuted minority are good citizens. How can we make the latter happen?"
You have to be joking. You are joking right?
Yeah the chances for reforming Islam don't seem very good if they ban the secular celebration of Christmas, let alone the religious one.
In case no one has pointed it out, the link in this blog post appears to be broken. (No need to approve this comment.)
It sounds like something many on the left want for this country. Don't mention Christmas!
I kid, but not completely.
So, Isis doesn't really know what Islam is about. They can't be representational of Islam for some reason.
So, does Saudi Arabia represent Islam in any way?
You know, I don't think SA really knows what Islam about. Clearly white liberals know islams true face. SA is ignorant of the religion that has guided it since its been Saudi Arabia.
Since the Sultan has authority only over his tiny oil rich country, and I am not there, I will continue to ignore his edicts on how to celebrate the religious and cultural holidays of my homeland. And if he comes here, he's gonna get a loud "Merry Christmas!" from me.
