"I say, folks, you know, I’m sorry I did this to you, but you’ve got to get used to it. It’s one of those little problems in life."

"I’m going to win. ... You know, I’m not one of these other guys that goes down. I don’t go down. I go up."

Donald Trump says get used to it.

So, we have a president who rules by executive order, claims that he has the right to kill American citizens without a trial, ignores the will of the people's congress, and Obama supporters are afraid that Trump is a fascist?

Does this post compare Trump to Hitler?

By leaving off "you've got to" to the quoted "get used to it" you seemingly buy into Paglia's denunciations of Taylor "Nazi Barbie" Swift and her hit song Shake It Off, the lyrics including of course "you've got to" preceding "shake it off."

Ergo by not giving Trump full credit for refuting potentially Swift you appear to be declaiming he sides with Swift in neo-Nazi tradition.

My position is people are getting dumber and dumber because of technological advances therefore we need every mention of the Nazi's we* can get to remind people they existed, and forgetting would be perilous perhaps.

Of course I am considering future generations, and the Clinton's kicked that inefficient (cf. to today's instant gratification) the hell out of vogue.

This is one of the most interesting and entertaining election cycles that I can remember. People are much more engaged, very early. Lots of passion. Trump has started conversations, in the media, and among normally apathetic voters, or non voters. All of the GOP contenders are adding to it. but Trump gets all the press. And negative press just seems to add to his success.
Love him or hate him- this is the first time since Reagan that people are actually talking about the role of the press, the bureaucracy, states rights etc. It is messy, and no one knows where its going. The frustration and anger of the people is wonderful to see. Democracy is messy, chaotic, un structured. And its about damn time.
The press always thought they could control the process. Trump is proving them wrong. Daily.

Trump is a winner - in life. But so was Romney, and so was McCain, each born to famous, successful, or rich Fathers.

I don't envy or criticize this, I salute this.

But the question is whether Trump wins this nomination, not whether, generally, he is a winner. If Conservatives stop splintering their vote, consolidate around 1 candidate (possibly Cruz), resist the temptation to demonize or dismiss Trump, and simply fight on the substance and the merits, call me naive, but I do think they can beat Trump for the nomination. Securing delegates is a very long slog.

Is Trump the best candidate to beat Hillary in VA, Ohio and Fla? If not, choose someone else. If so, learn to love Trump - I certainly will. But think hard about question, devoid of excessive emotional investment.

Cruz or Rubio in 2016!

The political re-alignment moves forward. The preference cascade has started. Before nobody wanted to admit they supported Trump but when his policies are scrutinized... they are close to what we need. The plutarchs and progressives are going to squeal as every person in this country that just wants to live a free life without having their tax money funneled to cronies moves behind Trump. The parasites always squirm when being detached.

Sure there are some conservatives who are bleating too and don't forget the Plutarchs pull the strings in the GOPe. But if Romney is their best option at this point the little people the GOPe lies to will come around in the end and see what is necessary. Trump in all of his ingloriousness.

A lot of these people will secretly vote for Trump also. Just watch. They don't want to have to stand up to the PC police and all of their smart friends.

In the Persian Gulf Arab states of the Middle East, the influence of the Napoleonic Code mixed with hints of Islamic law is clear, even in Saudi Arabia (which abides more towards Islamic law). In Kuwait, for example, property rights, women's rights, and the education system can be seen as Islamic reenactments of the French civil code. Some of these aspects can be seen in other Persian Gulf Arab states (although less pronounced than in Kuwait), this primarily being due to the relatively democratic nature of Kuwait, rather than the absolutist nature of many other Persian Gulf nations.

buwaya म्हणाले...

French style civil codes in the ME are leftovers from French colonial influence over Syria, Lebanon and North Africa, French influence over the early westernizing reformers in Turkey, and even on 19th century reforms in Egypt, which once was effectively run by a Franco-British consortium of investors in the Suez canal, though the British bought out the French interests and ran the place much longer. The French influence on civil law was much greater however.
The "civilized" parts of the Muslim world profoundly influence the less advanced bits. There have always been Egyptian and Lebanese in technical academic and advisory positions in the Petro-monarchies.

Cruz is going after Trump’s supporters on the immigration issue. Below are the bullet points on Cruz's immigration position:

[quote]

SECURE THE BORDER

* Build a wall that works …. I will complete the wall.

* Triple the number of Border Patrol agents.

* Increase vital aerial surveillance and other technology along the border.

* Finish the biometric tracking system at our nation’s ports of entry.

RESTORE THE RULE OF LAW

* End President Obama’s illegal amnesty. …. I will rescind each and every one …

* Increase deportations and end catch-and-release.

* End sanctuary policies, sign Kate’s Law, and deport criminal immigrants.

* Prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving financial benefits and strengthen E-Verify.

REFORM LEGAL IMMIGRATION TO PROTECT AMERICANS

* Suspend the issuance of all H-1B visas for 180 days to complete a comprehensive investigation and audit of pervasive allegations of abuse of the program.

* Halt any increases in legal immigration so long as American unemployment remains unacceptably high.

* Enforce the public-charge doctrine. Current law requires legal immigrants to certify that they will be economically self-sufficient. A Cruz Administration will ensure they do not receive government assistance, which defies the law and harms American taxpayers.

* End birthright citizenship. …. I will take steps to pass legislation or a constitutional amendment to end it.

The points are elaborated at the webpage.

Ending birthright citizenship for children of illegals should not require an amendment. The children born to foreign diplomats do not have birthright citizenship because their parents are not officially here. They are officially living in their home countries' territory. Illegals are not officially here either. Therefore, their children are not officially born here. A federal law or even a State Dept ruling should be enough to establish this as fact, as it is with a diplomat's children.

I have made that argument myself but apparently the courts haven't bought it. Or it hasn't been judicially decided. Perhaps some here can do the research. However if it turns out that this can be done by legislation the the other question that remains is that electoral college votes can't be derived from illegal aliens.

Frankly, I can't understand anyone living in America who consumes pop culture thinking this is good advice, unless being a beta crushed by inner turmoil and society's hatred is the aim. Is it some kind of Noble Obliques? Or Noblesse Obligques?

Obama was and is cocky.

Romney and Dole epitomize uncockiness.

Cassious "Muhammed Ali" Clay: Cocky.

Kid Rock:

"Cocky"

Guess who's back? haha
I used to be broke, confused..no joke
Got used, smoked dope, paid dues
Refused to give up quick,
Now theres 10 million motherfuckers on my dick
So what, say how, say who
Fuck what, fuck me, fuck you
Come clean, you know I will
Drink a fifth of Jim Beam and still stand still uh
I'm the illest fool
Cooler than the water in a swimmin' pool
Fly like a seagul, kickin' like a mule
More jams than a beetle from Liverpool
I deliver fool
Now who the fuck are you?
I'm Kid motherfuckin' Rock from the old school
Got more money, than Matchbox 20
Get more ass than Mark McGrath

[Chorus:]
They say I'm cocky, and I say What?
It ain't braggin' motherfucker if ya back it up
They say I'm cocky, and I say What?
It ain't braggin' motherfucker if ya back it up

I'm from the outskirts of Detroit rock city
A shirts, Cadillacs, big titties
Skinny models you can keep those
I like big corn fed mid western hoes
Don't you know? Talk fast, pimp slow
Show up to black ties in t-shirts and slippers
Sippin' liquor, fuck models, love strippers
Known as the big tipper with the big dipper
I got queens holdin' keys to my zipper
Fuck a real good girl, I got the baddest bitch in the world

[Chorus]

You think you got it good in Hollywood
I got acres of land laid back in the woods
Holdin' shares, cool like Fonzy
Rollin' Lake St. Clair in my 40 ft. donzy
You got a Bentley? Wow!
I got jets with wet bars and trucks with gold plows
Bitch bow when I pimp through
For the Kid the Rock the red, white and blue
Who knew the Kid would be
Everything from old George Jones to Jay Z
Baby I'm sick of gettin ripped off
So pissed 'bout to be pissed off
Mackin' me cause you know I'm paid
That's why I'm clapin' my gardeners and fuckin' my maids
Nevermind my age but if we're takin' number
