Did you understand the "Defeat Bloomberg" ad that ran during last night's debate?
My reaction, as I watched the debates last night, was just: Huh?
I didn't notice that it was an NRA ad. I'm reading about that here: "Wednesday’s ad was part of the NRA’s million-dollar campaign to paint Bloomberg as a nanny-state liberal, plotting to use his billions to take away Americans' guns and influence the presidency."
I guess they're building a meme. Maybe you're supposed be confused. You're being drawn in by confusion.
What? Huh? Bloomberg? Bloomberg isn't running! Food. Food, I like food. He's taking my food. But he's not running. Soda. My soda. But he's not running. Guns? Guns!!!! I must be alert, lest some insidious, subterranean gnome is deviously insinuating himself into the political process....
Bloomberg, the other billionaire.

You can paint him that with nothing more than a layer of clear-coat.
Bloomberg spent $150,000 in a failed attempt to defeat the Milwaukee County Sheriff -- views of gun rights were an issue in that race.
If Mikey B is going to spend that kind of money on local races, expect the NRA to give him the Koch Brothers treatment.
Didn't Bloomberg advertise against guns during the Super Bowl?
What I remembered
FIORINA: You know, it's interesting to me, Mr. Trump said that he heard Mr. Bush very clearly and what Mr. Bush said. I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said.
I am woman hear me whore.
Bloomy spent like $5mm in Washington state recently on a ballot measure. He uses his money directly and also opreates through astroturf front groups like "Everytown for Gun Safety" and "Moms Demand Action" (the latter run by a "mom" who just happens to be a PR flack who previously flacked for Monsanto). They regularly draw dozens of people to their "rallies" and they claim that everyone who has ever "liked" them on Facebook is a "member". The NRA on the other hand has over 5,000,000 members who shell out cash to be members.
Bloomgberg spent several hundred thousand dollars in a state assembly race here in CA. I am quite sure gun control was the force behind his decision to get involved in a race where he has no other interests. What an asshole.
Nanny Doomberg will spend his millions and so will the NRA. I finally became a life member of the NRA this year ($500). Best investment I have made in a long time.
The NRA is not the only organization standing between the commie-pinko lefties and gun confiscation, but they are, without question, the most effective.
If Doomberg had any testicles (cough), he would spend his money to start the process to repeal Amendment #2. Instead, he dances around trying to subvert it instead.
Wish the NRA was running for President.
Some day Bloomberg and the rest of the gun grabbers will figure out that prohibition of guns will work about as well as prohibiting alcohol did. I imagine criminals getting rich running guns instead of running booze, but getting rich nevertheless.
The target audience for that ad is well aware of Bloomber spending his money trying to affect races having a gun control aspect across the country.
I think he spent a lot of money in Colorado last cycle, trying to win a Senate seat for the opposite party (He claims to be a Republican) to little avail.
The funniest Doomberg confrontation that I have seen regarding gun control. I am sure there are others. The best question during the video was asking Hizzonner if he wants sip of Jason Mattera's "large" soda.

The only improvement I see that could be made is to put a gunsight cross-hair image across Bloomie's face and then let the balloon pop.
Bloomberg is essentially the money behind the entire US anti-gun movement, along with maybe Joyce and Soros, but Bloomie is the big kahuna of donors.
If he lost interest in that issue and stopped the money flowing, most groups would go belly up instantly. These groups have very few members, and exist solely as sockpuppets of Bloomberg.
If you want to do a post on money in politics, this guy and this issue would be a great example. Easy to understand, and really, really slimy.
@Ann, to answer your question: I didn't see the commercial, but I know it was from the NRA. The NRA would love to tar Bloomberg, the way that many others have tarred the Kochs.
To mention another instance of Bloomberg meddling in non-New-York politics: I've seen several references to Bloomberg "buying" Kathleen Kane her elected position as Pennsylvania State Attorney General. Bloomberg definitely spent money to support Kane's election, probably because she was vocally anti-gun.
Kane didn't run on her anti-gun proposals; she ran against the AG who had outed the Penn State Coach and the sexual abuse committed at Penn State. Shockingly, that was a way to win election as Attorney General in PA.
Kane has been using her power as AG to undermine gun rights in PA, mostly in small ways. (Blogger Sebastian at Shall Not Be Questioned has blogged this on and off, as he is a PA gun-rights blogger, and has a good eye for both regional and national gun-rights news.)
Since her election, Kathleen Kane has gotten into lots of legal trouble related to misdeeds while in office. Up to and including indictment by the Montgomery County DA, for leaking secrets related to a Grand Jury.
If Kane's misdeed had more National exposure, I'm sure the NRA would have loved to have dragged Bloomberg into the Kathleen Kane mess.
Thanks for the Pa.Gun Blog tip SJ. I have been following the Kathleen Kane's tribulations. All self-inflicted. Even our lefty governor Wolfe wants her to resign.
Today it got a bit stickier for Ms. Kane. According to the Pittsburgh Trib: "the Montgomery County district attorney on Thursday sent detectives armed with a search warrant to the attorney general's office, the third such search ...."
One humorous anecdote: During one court appearance, Kane sent her twin sister to run the media gauntlet in her place while she slipped through a back door. Gutsy!
"My reaction, as I watched the debates last night, was just: Huh?"
The left has been going after donors that support conservative causes. It is time to out the big money behind the forces trying to steal our freedom. Wealthy elites are trying to turn us into serfs. They need to be called out publicly.
"expect the NRA to give him the Koch Brothers treatment."
I think the NRA is concerned that Bloomberg will step into the post-Hillary chaos in the Democrat Party and propose himself as a Trump-lite to self fund. They are acting wisely to head that off.
The NRA is the most successful civil rights organization since the 50s. I've been a life member for years.
