Get that with a dark background. After my wife gave me my DSLR I ran around for a couple of years doing backlit flower pictures, until I regained sanity.
"On Tuesday, a 43-year-old Mississippi woman and her six-year-old daughter were snapping a selfie in front of a wild bison when the massive animal attacked."

I just have my 1 mile walk to a café and 1 mile back and I see what I see. I don't "run around" looking for anything in particular to photograph or even with a plan to photograph. Just getting out of the house, into the world, moving about a little within a pedestrian range. If the sun points something out like this, it's my soft duty to respond.
We are different of course. My instinct was to hunt down pictures. Had in mind what I wanted, then peered everywhere looking for a match. The keep an eye out for whatever one runs across requires a broader sort of mind I suppose.
For me, 68 degrees F is right for working in, and I wore just a short-sleeved shirt and slacks at the office. Raise the temperature to 75, and I am pretty much out of it as far as working is concerned.
At Sandia Natinal Laboratories, I heard years ago that they solved the male/female problem by installing two thermostats - the real one in the wall behind, and a fake one in front for the women to twirl.
I read somewhere that there is a biological reason for this. Though you would think women should be better insulated against cold than men, what with the extra fat layer for the curves and all, it turns out that they are set up to keep their internals warm to protect any babies, and their extremities actually do run coooler than men's.
I think that by the time Obama leaves office, most of the Federal departments and agencies are going to be well nigh ungovernable.
The next few presidents are going to have a hell of a time getting control of their administrations while at the same time coping with their problems at home and abroad.
On a Sunday drive last spring to see our Texas wildflowers in bloom, my wife and I had a long and interesting discussion about flower phototropism that started with a joke from me about all the oenothera pointing the same direction.
Of such brief and silly moments are great marriages made.

Today's theme would appear to be "Bad Parenting."

This is totally off topic, but of course I thought of Althouse on reading the conclusion to this article.

That is a fascinating and beautiful picture.
