"With investigators set to turn over reports to Dane County’s district attorney Friday on the controversial police shooting of 19-year-old Tony Robinson..."

"... law enforcement and protesters are preparing for what will happen after the prosecutor announces whether he will charge the officer involved...."
As the investigation wraps up, protest leaders are already planning their response to Ozanne’s decision, and Madison Police Chief Mike Koval says his department has also been working on how it will manage demonstrations following the announcement.....

The chief asked for 24 hours’ notice before Ozanne publicizes his decision, Koval said, so police could reach out to community groups and have officers in place ahead of the announcement....

Madison’s Young, Gifted and Black Coalition... members say they don’t expect Kenny will be charged....

Koval said Thursday he believes Ozanne will likely wait until toxicology test results from Robinson are available — a process he estimated could take another two weeks....
The roll-out of information and decisions is, I take it, an aspect of the management of demonstrations.

Isn't Koval the chief?

We need more lemming stories. Focus on black followers, not black leaders.

SGT Ted म्हणाले...

They need to warn up front that they will charge "community leaders" with incitement to riot, which they clearly have been doing in anticipation of no charges being filed against the officer.

Negotiate how many white officers to burn at the auto de fey. You can get the young and gifted down to two redheads and one blonde, but you may have to throw in pulling their flesh out with red hot tongs.

Sacrifice to a mob is so modern.

When you're "young, gifted and black" you can jump to conclusions faster than anyone on the planet! Who needs evidence and witness testimony! Hang 'em! Hang 'em high!

I find it heartening that the police will reach out to community groups.

Because that is precisely what they should do. Reach out. Reach out and touch someone. Reach out, call up, and just say "hi."

"Tony" was a drugged-up, convicted armed robber (And home invader) who again invaded a home and battered a citizen and attacked a police officer on the on the day he was, most properly, removed from the Madison genetic pool.

The most effective solution to rioters is volley fire.

Indeed.

We will get the information a spoonful at a time, like a baby being fed.

I am Laslo.

Auto de fey is gay rights.

Is the tag "tony r" a micro-aggression?

What a day, what a day
For an auto-da-fe!
What a sunny summer sky!
What a day, what a day
For an auto-da-fe!
It's a lovely day for drinking
And for watching people fry!
Hurry, hurry, hurry,
Watch'em die!
Hurry, hurry, hurry,
Hang 'em high!

Shouldn't the tag be "tony r dead"

Racial racketeers do not care about truth.

So, at this point, what difference does it make?

I was expecting them to release the information during Spring Break. If not then, how about during Finals Week?

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"If not then, how about during Finals Week?"

-- They probably don't want to deal with people asking to reschedule finals because of the stress.

Jim म्हणाले...

Release the information at 0800 on Monday morning. The protesters that have jobs will be at work; the protesters that don't will find out when the wake up at noon.

I long for the good old days when the police chief was black and the unarmed shooting victim was white

Fewer boring assholes involved in the aftermath.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

"Isn't Koval the chief?"

Yes, and so that was awkwardly written.

Your question made me see that, in editing, I took "Madison Police Chief Mike Koval" out of the previous sentence.

I've put it back.

(I was going to bracket it in elsewhere and not use that sentence, but then I did. Hence the cut.)

C'mon YGB Coalition, burn that city! Raze that campus to the ground during the regionals and Final Four. That'll generate sympathy! Go for it!

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

The modern sacrifice of victims to show faith in a truth is exactly like the auto da fey ordered by Catholics. It was a celebration that showed a complete faith in the Church to burn alive anyone even suspected of heresy thinking, OR anyone that showed sympathy for the sacrificial victims.

Pleasing a mean God is hard work. And the Inquisitions also shared the dead people's confiscated property with the accusers who outed them. That was the real reason it was a celebration Day.

I'll guess the national news is done grieving for young black (and gifted) men that are killed by police.

If it wasn't for this blog, then I wouldn't know of this issue.

Michelle Dulak Thomson म्हणाले...

I remain confused about Robinson's race. The article says that he was black. So did news stories immediately after the shooting. Then he was "biracial." Later still his race was quietly dropped altogether.

Anyone in Madison know more?

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

@Michelle, his Mom is white, his dad is black.
