"City of Madison facing cyber attack, likely related to Tony Robinson shooting."

"The attack is similar to those that have happened in other cities after incidents like the controversial fatal shooting of Tony Robinson by a Madison police officer Friday night," the Wisconsin State Journal reported 4 hours ago.

Minutes ago, WKOW.com reported: "Madison Police Spokesperson Joel DeSpain tells 27 News the group 'Anonymous' is claiming they are responsible for the cyber attack." Also: "'Anonymous' posted a YouTube video Sunday that they want all audio recordings released in the recent shooting of Tony Robinson."

This is clearly the result of long decades of white racism whilst Wisconsin, a right to work state, was a part of the confederacy.

garage jumps on the "racist!" train re: Travon, Brownm, and Garner.

But Robinson? Crickets.

The chief and Soglin are morons thinking that expressing contrition is going to help...it's just gas on the flames. Like the rest of Madison lefties they can't fathom that they would be thought as racist, because they care so much. But Madison blacks aren't sold...they aren't elected to city councils, school boards, state assembly or Senate districts. And UW students don't have the Madison buy-in either.

Be careful Madison.

I had problems getting on your Alth0use.bl0gsp0t.c0m yesterday for at least an hour. I would see the webpage for about a tenth of a second and then the screen said that the webpage was not available. I tried at least 20 times during that hour or so.

Well, I don't think I'm connected to this story. I'm not on a city website. I'm on Blogger, part of Google. My internet service isn't the city's service. I'm either at home or at the university. But I don't see how the way I get on affects the way you see websites that are on Google's servers.

Sorry to hear you had trouble with it though. I wasn't seeing any trouble and didn't see any other complaints.

There is another report up (I can't find it again to say where) about another "unarmed young black man being shot by a white officer." This one stripped himself naked and ran through the hallways of a hotel(?) while terrorizing the guests.

I definitely think some effort had ought to be made to check if there is a new drug around that makes some people act this way.

These stories are somewhat reminiscent of a weaker version of the toadstool tea that the berserker ("bare shirt") Vikings used to stoke themselves up before battle.

"I wasn't seeing any trouble and didn't see any other complaints."

A while (30 minutes?) before I began experiencing my trouble getting onto your blog, I saw in the bottom-right corner of my monitor a little warning about malware. I did not study the warning, I simply clicked it close.

Then that while later, I tried to look at your blog and had my first trouble.

I browsed some other websites and had not trouble. Only when I came back to Althouse did I have my trouble.

I thought that that blogspot might be having troubles, and so I tried some other blogspot sites. I had no trouble at any other blogspot site -- only on Althouse.

This trouble began on Monday at around 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. I think the trouble ended by 5 p.m.

I thought about sending you an e-mail yesterday while this was happening, but ultimately did not do so, because the problem eventually went away by itself.

If I could do it over again, I would have noted the details -- the start and end times, the number of failed attempts, etc.

I decided to tell you this today only because you posted this article about someone doing cyber attacks related to the Tony Robinson shooting.

Mike Sylwester म्हणाले...

The main reason why I did not send you an e-mail yesterday was that I could not get onto your blog to get your e-mail address.

I had this trouble while I was at work. I thought I would be able to get onto your blog after I got to my home computer.

I don't remember whether the problem disappeared before I left work at 5 p.m. or after I got home an hour later. In either case, I eventually decided not to send you an e-mail about it.

When I glanced at the malware warning, I understood it to say that my computer had blocked the malware. That's why I reflexively clicked it close without studying it.

I already had visited your blog earlier that day, before I saw the malware warning.

I am guessing that someone might be able to attach a malware to computers that visit your blog.

I visited a lot of websites during that period but had this trouble only on Althouse.

No parole revocation for Mr. Robinson, at least.

As you can see from my profile, I myself have four blogs on Blogger.

I am rather lazy about computer security. I never have changed my Google password in many years.

Therefore, I might be particularly vulnerable as a carrier for virus shenanigans on Blogger.

I had that thought in mind when I decided to visit some other blogspot sites to test my problem yesterday afternoon. However, the only blogspot where I had the problem was on Althouse.

Democracy and self-government are fragile things, requiring consent of the governed and their trust in those who govern. Doesn't take much for it all to start unraveling. That happened big-time in Ferguson, both for those who rioted and those who didn't -- the rioters turning on the Local and state officials in Missouri, and the non-rioters turning on Holder and the feds. Very different story in NYC after Garner's death, where the narrative never got the better of the facts (since there were no facts to show a racial animus). Now it's Madison's turn.

I suspect Madison's experience will be more like NYC's, partly because the narrative took such a beating in Ferguson.

Alex: "Isn't Madison PD supposed to be the most liberal in the state? Yet they are still gunning down innocent black people."

Yes and given the lessons taught to us by the lefties lo these many years it is an unavoidable conclusion that the racist Madison PD is representative of the racist white Madison citizenry.

Which is why some white, rural, bitter and clingy madison whites feel comfortable using the term "blackys" and stating publicly that they want to shut down fraternities like Omega Psi Phi.

Did you hear that Sally Kohn, liberal of CNN, says that the killing of Robinson and Right to work are connected?

"Let’s not be surprised that within span of days in Wisconsin, unarmed young black man shot AND union rights eroded. Injustice is connected."

I can't offhand remember which website I heard it on, but there was a 15 minute police traffic recording of the Madison dispatcher in which Robinson was mentioned by name.

I have that happen when my wifi range extender overheats. I unplug it and sometimes have to reset it, to get normal internet service. I have also had this happen when using free wifi sites, and if I knew the people well enough, I would ask them to reset their router. Then it would work.

Time for AG Holder to investigate the racial hostility in Madison. Can't have white cops gunning down innocent black kids execution style for no reason except he didn't like the color of his skin.

Gusty Winds म्हणाले...

I've expressed my disdain for Madison politics. But I have to admit, I'm feeling bad for the community. Their gonna get squeezed from the inside and out.

Maybe they'll learn that throwing around accusations of racism so easily is an unproductive broad brush. Can't help but remember Sharpton landing in Ferguson and thinking...uh oh...

I watched some short diatribe of some local Madisonian rant on a Capital Times video that 'Madison is not Ferguson'. How does he know Ferguson is his version of Ferguson?

I feel bad for the kid and the cop. How many kids like him will now take it as a point of pride to push back at the cops, and escalate the situation to everyone's detriment and their own demise?

Cops don't want to draw weapons, just like soldiers would most likely choose to avoid battle.
