Exuberant.

She is a beauty. Give every depressed person a Service Dog like her and the drug companies would all go bankrupt.

You need a black poodle, set against a burning orange sky, for balance.

Looking at these dog pictures that Althouse puts up has been therapeutic to me. I was (still am but to a lesser extent) afraid of dogs, irrationally so because never been bitten by one. Last week, we were walking on a sidewalk in PTown and this guy with his large dog is coming towards us and I stopped because there was not enough space for all of us. But my hubby walking behind me thought I froze because of the dog walking toward me and lo and behold, he envelops me in his arms shielding me from the big dog. It was an endearing moment but I was not really afraid. The guy laughed (at my hubby) insensitively.

I encountered a pit bull this week. In The Projects. I was walking along and did a double take when I saw a large, unleashed pit bull trotting toward me. I sauntered to a stop, assumed my most non-threatening posture and watched. He kept coming, started to move around me, then swerved, and leapt up, delicately, and demanded that I scratch his ears. How bizarre was that? I choose to believe it was my guardian angel saying Hi!

So perfect it’s indistinguishable from the work of Jeff Koons.

Technicolor.

Question: Can it really be a blue ball for long if it's in her mouth?

That picture almost makes me wish I had a dog.

Almost.

Nice job. It is great when the elements all come together.

That is a wonderful picture.

I'm just wondering what Althouse, or Crack for that matter, has to say about John McWhorter's piece in Reason?

We inherited a large dog last winter and fell into dog ownership like parenthood: serving his whims, walks and attention all day into the night and literally housebound.

The greatest, most exhausting experience in a very long time. And then he died this summer.

Be sure to have a fenced in lot for your energetic dogs.

I pine for another.
