"Beyond Taibbi's behavior, whatever it might have been, it really sounds like Omidyar has no idea what he wants to do with the company."

"That really bodes ill for The Intercept."

Taibbi is an economic illiterate with a lefty interpretation of everything, to judge from his appearances on Imus.

That might not work out well if you have to make money in charge of something.

Taibbi has some financial vocabulary and knows some of the details of finance but when he puts them in combination he is always very, very wrong. He would have a lot of things be illegal that are not and should not be.

"Startups call this radical shift in focus "doing a pivoturd"

Gotta remember that line.

rhhardin about sums it up. We'll all just have to wait just a little longer until Tiabbi can pull together his own little socialist utopia.

After so many centuries of similarly waiting, civilization can do that kind of time standing on its head.

I hope Taibbi finds another prominent publication to publish his reporting. He is one of the few reporters today doing real journalism, (rather than giving blowjobs to the rich and powerful in Washington and on Wall Street, as most present day journalists do).

I agree with both rhhardin and Robert Cook. Taibbi is an economic illiterate who is also one of the few reporters today doing real journalism.

In other words, his reporting is much more vital than his analyses.

But his reporting has often been terrific. He is one of the few left-of-center journalists willing to call out the Obama Treasury Department. He deserves to find a prominent gig somewhere.
