Yum, cheese curd. I ate a lot of that when I worked at the cheese factory. Didn't come fried, but it was freshly cut and and salted and ready for the press.
I ate some of these for the first time a few weeks ago. Business took me to Madison, and my colleagues and I had dinner at The Old Fashioned near the Capitol, which is gorgeous by the way.
I half expected to see Althouse or Meade or Representative Hulsey out and about. Alas, it was mostly sturdy college girls and tourists instead.
In South Carolina there would be an oyster inside that batter.
Despite my love for Wisconsin, I've never developed a great appetite for cheese curds, even the very fresh squeaky kind. Rather have a nice hunk of smoked sausage.
Sorry, I know Swissconsin is like the cheese capital of the Midwest, but cheese curd? I'm not sure I even know what the hell that is. Deep fat frying is, however something I understand. Being in Mississippi, the fry capital of the modern world where they fry pickles and butter... ( have a little fat with your deep fat?)
We will fry anything that will stand still for it.
The only thing worse than restaurants with pictures of their food on the menu is white people taking pictures of the food on the menu to compare it to the pictures they take of the food they actually received. And then post them on line to say how they DID NOT match up.
I suspect your exposure to Wisconsin cheese is limited to the Safeway, Hyvee or equivalent. If your opinion is actually based upon eating the product on site, well then I disagree but you are welcome to your opinion.
A room full of people talking about fancy cheeses: a good thing four hundred years of oppression are over or otherwise this would seem pretty damned silly...
Nothing is more deceptive than a list of ingredients for a cocktail. If there is a third ingredient for a cocktail, it should take an expert to tell what it is. A good cocktail is whiskey + somethin', gin + sometin", brandy + somthin', etc. Sure the are exceptions (e.g. the Negroni) but menus like that turn me off rather than turn me on.
I have been watching Netflix movies about unforbidden gay love. Specifically Jews and Palenstian gays, Nigerian UK gays, Saudi Gays, Iran and Iraq gays etc. I am enthralled and they make me so horny.
My dream job would be the gay liaison the the muzzie community. Not because of possible solutions but because of the unforbidden sex-could anything be hotter?
Some white people could probably talk about two hundred different types of cheeses, but will only count two kinds of black people: the ones that agree with them all quiet-like, and then those OTHER black ones. Keep fucking that grilled cheese sandwich...
God I hate cute cocktails! The only exception I'd make was at Trader Vic's -- the Suffering Bastard was worth the blush. You can't get a decent Gibson anymore (the young sprout bartenders think it's the same as a Gimlet), and they make Martinis with all kinds of crap -- chocolate, strawberry, lemon drops, cranberry -- instead of gin and (a very little) vermouth (no, not vodka; that's a vodka martini, and if that's what I wanted, that's what I would have asked for).
American cheese is actually "Pasteurized cheese food product" I read that straight from the label.
Also,
I don't actually like fried pickles, or butter either though I have never had it, I can't imagine eating that though I can picture the trip to the bathroom the next morning...
I'm more of a grilling type. I once wanted to start a BBQ team called, "Grillers in our midst" but no one else would go for it.
Oh my god. Does Baumgartner's still exist after all these year???
It is. You can find some of the best cheese in the world in Monroe. They make Limburger onsite, although I've never tried it.
I go to Ehlenbach's in DeForest because it's close. Their aged cheddar is so so good. You can get 1 year all the way up to 12 year old cheddar. 5 year is the best imo.

You are welcome in Wisconsin any time. Fried pickle is a regular menu item at Gaze (er, Graze).
I guess that's what a previous post referred to as a craft cocktail bar. Those drinks sounded pretentious and awful. Rhubarb juice does not belong in any kind of beverage. There's a reason why you can't buy rhubarb soda or rhubarb ice cream......I bet the kids who get hammered in such an establishment have particularly foul smelling and high arcing projectile vomit.

What was Charles De Gaul said about governing a country that produces 246 different types of cheeses… and speaking of Negroes ole Charles wasn't that enamored of them or Jews or Arabs and Americans.
Can't comment on the cheese curds but the drinks is something else. Not only do they look and sound pretentious and awful tasting but the prices….Madison is closer to bumfuck than Manhattan or Miami/

Theres not a thing wrong with a shot of Costco bourbon and a Lienie of you choice.
Eat a bite of cheese; not a thought given to oppression. Eat a bite of cheese; not a thought given to oppression. Eat another bite of cheese; not a thought given to oppression.
It's the only way whites can do it, or they would -- in a Right World -- lose their appetites...

Grazing (or drinking) at Graze is a great gastro choice
Vodka on the rocks
Yum!

What would Michelle say about your diet? Fried cheese curds and booze… for shame, for shame!!
(The hell with her!)
In South Carolina there would be an oyster inside that batter.

David, who said you can't have both!
Things white people do: take photos of menus of foods such as 'Tarra-Gone in 60 Seconds' with "Quince & Apple rhubarb hop syrup'.
Things Uncle Toms do: eat at these kind of restaurants.
Seriously: if Clarence Thomas was in town wouldn't you expect to find him here?

I've given up drinking. Have 2-3 Knob Creeks straight up for me.

The fried curds at Old Fashioned are superb. I've not had them at Graze. Gates & Brovi has good ones too, I've heard.
Betamax3000, You're right!!

It's turtle food all the way down.
The best American cheese comes from California and a few small places elsewhere. Not Wisconsin. Bleh.
Bob is wrong.
I suspect your exposure to Wisconsin cheese is limited to the Safeway, Hyvee or equivalent. If your opinion is actually based upon eating the product on site, well then I disagree but you are welcome to your opinion.

In Texas, there would be Rocky Mountain oysters inside that batter.

An economist, from our Cambridge office, who is from Monroe, is heading to Cheese Days this weekend in Monroe!!!!
Those are real cheese curds, not sysco.
Where are those turds from whore?
tits.

California cheese. Cute.
" Being in Mississippi, the fry capital of the modern world where they fry pickles and butter... "
Deep fried pickles are on the menu at this restaurant, but we didn't order them, though one person at the table was interested.

"The best American cheese comes from California"
"American" cheese isn't even cheese.
CWJ, I smell a cheese challenge. It should be in Wisconsin in the summer. Let's do it!
Let me say that if you haven't seen Wisconsin in summertime, you haven't seen all that heaven has.

Their kir royales are made with "sparkling wine"?!
Don't walk, run.
What is that dipping sauce? What would one want to dip fried cheese curd into?
What, no soft crabs?

I was wondering the same thing.
The only cheese curds I've ever had were at the local Culver's, which just opened a few months back. They were tasty.
Do not eat at a place with cute menu items.
I've visited Madison and eaten at Graze. Good food and drink (good beer selection).
I did like the fried cheese curds at The Old Fashioned.
Maybe there could be a new series of photos: homeless black people I passed in the street on the way to the overpriced cheeses restaurant.

Dip 'em in ranch.
Blue cheese is just too damn cheesy.
People do it because it tastes good, and since ranch dressing goes on salads and salads are healthy then by God cheese curds are healthy.
Quod Eratimenyde Demonstanatum.
homeless black people
There are plenty of homeless whites in Madison too, you know.

Hell, next we could have a post about trendy sausages; after all, white people have been grinding up black people for centuries...

Drinks good at home and cheap at a restaurant.
Jeez, Ms. Watts is a litterbug, too, to top it all off with a cherry on top.
The only people I ever saw taking pictures of their food were Japanese tourists at Epcot.
That menu could be from Percy's Bar in Ballard. They don't know what slivovitz is, but they can surely make up pretentious names for mixed drinks.
