The Joan Rivers funeral.
Also, here's Joan, back in 2011, advising her daughter to carry on after her mother's death, which, Joan anticipated, might come from surgery:
Joan uses words older individuals going into surgery often use to comfort their loved ones: "I've had a great life...."

From the video:
"I didn't intend to cause her so much angst," said Melissa.
Cryptic to me. Was Joan doing this to please her daughter? Was Melissa the cause of her angst by simply being her daughter? Maybe it was not the demands of the "business."
As an aside, my mother also "prepared" me for her imminent demise for years before she died. My mother-in-law did the same. It is a ritual.
Yes we loved you, Joan. Anybody can be loved who strokes people's egos and never says what they don't want to hear. But only Joan could insult folks and still win their love.
She would have been happy to know who all came to her funeral
I've worked with many hospice patients, and many deathly ill patients during my two decades as a nurse. The old know that they are going to die, and have thought about it plenty. J. Rivers had a great life and knew that even if it wasn't that day her death wasn't far off. She was unlikely to be angsty, just wanting to help her daughter ease into understanding her death was coming. She was at peace with her life and her fate.
My wife was empathetically offended by the F bombs dropped in the synagogue. Was that necessary to celebrate the life of a noted comedienne? That some thought it appropriate in that place and as a celebratory epithet is telling. If it was appropriate, also telling.
