And it’s clear he wouldn’t have been able to rest until he explored every weird angle of the subject and got it out of his system so he can move onto the next obsession. You’re not going to see these exact clothes on the rack, certainly. But you’ll see far more wearable versions playing on these same themes.Tom and Lorenzo explain Thom Browne, and, more generally, fashion shows. I'm linking to this because of that, because the stuff is quite hilarious, and because: men in shorts.
(And yes, I know somebody somewhere wrote an essay about men in shorts recently. Please stop emailing me about it. Nothing amusing or interesting was said, I declare with my 10 years of experience denouncing — and otherwise judging — the men in their short pants.)

This being a Spring collection, Browne breaches accepted Memorial Day to Labor Day protocol with his green seersucker lawn mowing ensemble.
For those of us North of the Sweet Tea Line, anyways.
Or perhaps he believes my lawn won't need mowing before then?
His menswear collection is far better (if you are looking for a laugh).
Yeah, I could see actually wearing some of the women's things, like the melting-colors coat.
I liked the mulit-melty-coat too, minus the giant see-through saucer black hat deal. It was interesting at least. The "attach some feathers to it" coats didn't really work.
The first group of 6 smaller pictures show that at least part of his current obsession was the silhouette of an old floor lamp.
In re shorts - you Eskimos should spend a summer in Arizona or Florida. Walk a mile in my shoes as they say.
Clowns are entertainment...in fact the center of attention everywhere they go.
So this designer must sell everything he does to the rich girls with sugar daddies.
Good to see full-on nuttiness this late in the season!
People who design clothing like this don't respect people and people that wear it don't respect themselves.
That said, I do like seersucker, but the trend today in men's suits is high rise pants and short jackets. I guess men are supposed to dress like Ellen DeGeneres.
"Every time we’ve gone to one of his shows, it was clear we were seeing the result of one little obsession that’s been gnawing away at Thom Browne’s brain for the last 6 months, whether it’s nuns, Victorian dolls, or in this case, a twisted garden party."
"We don't even THINK about race!"
Awww, it's all so precious just precious. Especially the H in tHom.
Loved the hats. Especially the coneheads. Must be the French influence.
Say, anybody here take any a' those Owsly orange tabs back in the early '70s?
Blacks invented the silent "h" in Thom.
It's little wonder the models never smile.
I get that these clothes are mot meant to be sold in stores, it's not a failure that nobody would actually wear most of this.
But then, why? What are fashion shows for? Why do prominent designers put so much energy into them?
