There are 3 comments over there, and 2 of them say what I immediately wanted to say:
Nominating a woman will not help Republicans because she can never be "the right kind of woman." It's the Emily's List syndrome. And:
Oh, it will be a war on women (or at least one woman) if the Dems nominate a man and the Republicans nominate a woman. Like the war on Sarah Palin. The third comment, from one "Judge Baylor," is from someone who needs to adopt this rule of thumb: When a statement seems strangely worded, google those words and you may discover an allusion to something.
I'd said: "The internet will never allow you to go back to your summer holiday week as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." Inapt response:
Oh, Althouse, spoken like an earnest high school social studies teacher, circa 1995. From what I have seen of the internet, it serves only to accelerate the dissemination of ignorant dreck to the MSM that then puts a glossy sheen on it.This makes me want to take a war-on-women shot over the schoolmarm stereotype and the assumption that women aren't funny.

The Republicans could really shake things up by nominating a transgender woman.
If the GOP got even a slight swing of the women's vote in their direction--maybe a narrowing of the gender gap by two or three points even--it would be curtains for the Democrats. So it's understandable that they do everything in their power to scare as many women as possible over the idea of the GOP being in power. And the GOP often enough will play right into their hands with their own messaging.
What will be interesting is to see how long that trope can continue. At some point the targets of this scare will feel they're being played, and react accordingly.
There is a weak spot if the Dems nominate Clinton--constant reminders of how venemously she attacked any woman who dared accuse her sexual predator husband. There's also the possibility that Hillary! overplays her hand, and enough women feel condescened to by the Clintons that the geneder gap narrows.
I like that you can click on the name over at instapundit and see all the comments made by the individual.
This makes me want to take a war-on-women shot over the schoolmarm stereotype and the assumption that women aren't funny.
An assumption that gets reinforced every time Sarah Silverman, Whoopi Goldberg or Wanda Sykes opens her mouth.
"Well, it’s going to be all war-on-women all the time anyway, at least until the Dems nominate a man and the Republicans nominate a woman."
Has anyone said "Stop Playing The Victim" yet? If not, I'd like to get that in there, as a statement of general purpose and support.
And don't forget Robert A. Heinlein's "bad luck" theory - turns the world on it's head, does it not? You can't mention Insty without that.

Belligerent Drunk Stand-up Comic says:
You know, there are some people that say women aren't funny; I expect you might even think I'm one of them. (sips drink) I've known plenty of funny women -- a few were even funny on purpose. Stop groaning, stop groaning: if you can't take the jokes you can't make the jokes, people (sips drink). Women, though, they tend to do that cerebral humor -- you know, the kind of brainy jokes you make when you don't have a set of balls to talk about...
(sips drink)
Still, I can't help but see a bit of penis envy every time a woman tries to be funny: it's like they are driving a four-speed but never get to use that last gear. (sips drink) I mean: a man gets his dick stuck in a pipe, that can be funny, but a woman getting a pipe stuck in her uterus -- well, that sounds a little too... medical. (sips drink) Like she should be able to sue somebody; makes my ovaries hurt just thinking about it...
(sips drink)
Now, I love it when a woman is funny. Intentionally. It's like watching a child ride a bicycle for the first time without training wheels: sure, they may be wobbly, they may not be quite sure exactly where they are going, and you half-expect them to fall at any moment, but -- dammit -- they're riding a bike. Warms the heart. (sips drink) Thank you, you've been a peach...
If all the Dems carnival show advertises is "Hillary, the Old Radical Woman From the 1960s", then not even P T Barnum could find enough suckers...except maybe in Mississippi.
A strong man will be what most voters will want as President to face the collapse of our system that Obama has pre-arranged for us.
Scott Walker better get ready.
"At some point the targets of this scare will feel they're being played, and react accordingly."
You hope. The blacks haven't caught on to the scam yet.
I want a war on women in politics...just for the drama.
I love drama.
tits.
I don't see how the dems can play the war-on-women card if Hillary is nominated.Rand Paul showed how to play that game a couple of months ago.Everytime the dems mention war-on-women,counter with Bill Clinton the serial sexual predator.
I had to look that up. Subtlety. Good-oh.
Guys' joke, related by Derbyshire :
Back in the days of British rule in Ireland, a circuit court was sitting in a remote country district there. At a certain point in one case, the presiding judge brushed the snuff from his surtout, leaned over his bench, and said to the defendant's council: "Mr. O'Shaughnessy, has your client never heard the expression sic utere tuo ut alienum non laedas?" Counsel turned to the bench, pulled himself up to his full height, gripped his lapels, and replied: "M'Lud, in the remote fishing village in County Kilkenny where my client lives, they speak of little else."
That's how it's done.
This is not a war on women. This is a war on libertinism and the social liberals are apoplectic, ripping their hair out in fear that they will be required to accept responsibility for their "free love".
As for voting directives, neither man nor woman, but the best candidate for the job. PC is progressive corruption and its effects should be mitigated in our lives and government.
I've read that married women tend to favor Republicans, and single women lean towards the Democrats. Does the single women rubric include divorcees or just divorcees without alimony?...... The analysis and breakdown of the women's vote needs further analysis. What are the political sympathies of those women who reach orgasm clitorally versus those who achieve it vaginally? There's so much we don't know about the woman's vote.
Has anyone said "Stop Playing The Victim" yet?
Sure, lots of times. But I don't think we've gotten through to you.
n.n. - you come across as a celebrator of misogyny. You act as if women are a bunch of 'fair maidens' to be kept pure & chaste by the men-folk until assigned to appropriate husbands. Very Taliban-ish.
I got the joke, and I LOL'ed. (Thumbs nose at FLOTUS)

Alex:
Not at all. Love with responsibility. Other than the direct responsibility of women for the development of human life from conception to birth, there are few intrinsic differences between men and women.
As for procreation, marriage, etc., that is an individual choice. The difference that matters is what society chooses to normalize.
It is self-evident that normalization should only be undertaken to promote behaviors which have a redeeming value to society or humanity. Most behaviors, including many dysfunctional behaviors, can be tolerated, unless they represent a progressive condition. That too should be self-evident.
women are hilarious.(no pun intended) Now go make Meade a sammich. ;)

I have yet to crack a smile during the act of reading the blog.
Or is this just highly articulate and intellecutalized irony that I lack the cultural literacy to appreciate?
