That was a nice little video essay that you linked.

Too bad the NYT has no idea how to promote this content.

I did already "eck" it out. I eck out every SCt case. I didn't see an interesting way to blog it. I blog based on "interesting," not "BIG."

Well, I thought the name alone would be enough to make people care.

Hmm…since no one else commented on Gordon Willis, I guess folks have no idea of his contribution to the motion picture industry, and yet they've seen it.

For those of you who've come in late, Mr. Willis was the best of the best cinematographers who ever lived to date. His work speaks for itself. He worked on all of THE GODFATHER movies and many of Woody Allen's 1980's films, such as Annie Hall, Manhattan (in B&W), Zelig and The Purple Rose of Cairo.

I don't know if anyone really appreciates the role of a excellent cinematographer with an equally talented director and what they create together to draw us into a movie and keep us captivate for a couple of hours pleasure. It is quite an accomplishment few can do.

Gordon Willis deserved at least that much of a tribute since you were kind to note his passing, Ann.

RIP good and faithful servant.

Everybody, together now…

"INTERESTING NOT BIG."

Althouse, sees all, knows all.

He was also a fine still photographer. A real talent and he will be missed.
