I some times feel like a party of one, but I have had an aversion to Depp since he gave up his US residence (citizenship?). Somehow I feel like he is a tamed down Jane Fonda. He doesn't like the US yet many here fall all over themselves for him. What little I have seen of his movies are a joke - Pirates of the Caribbean versions one through fifty and the Lone Ranger, get serious.
He tries WAAAY too hard. Talk about over accessorized. He's wearing less baubles and bangles than normal. It must take him an hour to put himself together before leaving the house.
I no longer wear bell bottomed trousers , wide collared shirts with a floral pattern, or earth shoes. So I'm willing to change, but once you hit on the right outfit, you should stick to it. Jeans, a sweatshirt, and New Balance running shoes are the perfect balance of chic and informality. I've been wearing them for the last forty years and see no reason for further change. We have such a brief stay on planet earth. Do we really want to waste a lot of time on choosing outfits?
The white tee-shirt, bermudas and crocs style is forever.
Women though like to show off what a good deal they made in a partner to their friends, and may suggest things for you to wear instead so that the friends are impresed.
The problem with that outfit is how expensive it looks (and is.) It's so elegant in fabric and tailoring that it creates a huge distance between the wearer and the onlooker. Maybe this is what Depp wants. But usually he dresses in a way that the average hipster wannabe thinks "I could look like that." He could, if he were Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp: from acting in live-action cartoons to dressing like a cartoon in real life. Art.
Adoring fans line the fence just to get a glimpse of the aging Johnny Depp?
Don't they have jobs?...families? Are their lives so empty that they stand and wait for Mr. Depp?
Have these women no self-respect?

The male Lady Gaga.
He wears an old bowling jacket and everybody is on his shit?
Mrs. Tank does not care what he wears.
Pretty good actor, I think.
Good actors, like other accomplished human beings, can dress however they want.
What Tank said.

It's a girl thing.
...said the writer to the A-list actor who's pulling down more money, making more art, and impacting more lives than the writer ever will.
"Don't they have jobs?"
Given the years-in-progress-and-still-going disappearance of jobs in modern America...possibly not!

I don't know -- that getup in the photos looks like it would fit a 60 year old man perfectly. If he buttoned up a few more buttons, at least.
