"Better Call Saul!" is fiction. "Thanks, Dan!" is real.
Throwing Things says, "You know me well enough to know that I don't blog about every attorney's publicity-seeking web ad, but this one is special," and he's absolutely right.

You have to convict a defendant against the best possible defence, not against a weak defense.
"Did I mention I'm Jewish?"
Too funny!!
OMG that's genius. He doesn't even use the term "alleged" with his clients. Well, it's a good thing he's Jewish because that took Chutzpah!
"Did I mench'on I'm Jewish?!
I just sent this to my criminal defense lawyer cousin...I've never laughed so hard.
"We don't need a criminal attorney. We need a criminal attorney."
This ad is deceptive -- it suggests that not every attorney licensed to practice in PA is licensed to practice in every county therein. How dare he!

Well, he never said that he wasn't a liar and a scumbag
He just advertised that if you hire him your Jury will know that you are a criminal.
I was born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
It's like Justified with defunct steel mills.
Maybe he knows his demographic. The ad is not aimed at lawyers. He may be a scumbag, but he's your scumbag.
@Cracker, nice broomhandle.
One of your star pupils, Professor?
Go back and reread the Supreme Court decision that held that state restrictions/prohibitions on lawyer advertising were unconstitutional. It described these young idealistic lawyers who wanted to provide affordable legal services for lower income people. Wasn't that an objective we should support? So as a result essentially all lawyer advertising is constitutionally protected.
I don't know if this ad is a gag or for real. It could be either. There's a TV ad here in NC for a bankruptcy lawyer who touts bankruptcy as the panacea for all your financial woes -- and it will help your credit score!
Even my (former) giant, white shoe DC law firm did some cooperative ad campaigns with some office machinery company, that included BS about how the firm "gets results" or something.
I know a lot of people have contempt for lawyers, and ads like this foster that contempt. Respectable lawyers have to preserve their reputations without a net. Or you can choose to play the piano in the cat house, I guess.
