Twilight catch.

Last night, in the blue hour.

It was a Lab fest:

With Zeus, and (in yellow) Iris...

And our new best friend (in chocolate) Colt:

The photobombing non-Lab is Bowie, so named because he has one blue and one brown iris... unlike Iris, who has neither heterochromia nor anisocoria. If your pet has mismatched eyes, David Bowie is not the only celebrity you could name him after. Consider calling him Aykroyd, Cumberbatch, Kiefer, Van Cleef, or Mila.

No pics, but we're dog-sitting my kid's dopey (friendly) Pit while she's in New Orleans doing what people do there. This morning we went for a walk that turned into a run (well, for 61 year old me, that's like a slow jog thing). Fun. It's hard not to be happy when he's around.

Yellow lab next door loooooooves tennis balls. Bought her 12 - 9 squeakies and 3 regular.

I've heard that beagles are incredible problem solvers:

You need a thrower for the tennis balls and the lab. Much better exercise for the dog and less for you.

Basset hounds don't retrieve. They lay down and wait for you to get the ball.

Labs are the best dogs, so a lab fest is the best type of dog gatherings.

FWIW the very first moments of the am part of the "Blue Hour" are very important militarily--especially to the Navy. It's called "first available light" and every major naval vessel has an encyclopedia (probably computerized by now) listing the exact time for every point of longitude & latitude and all points between on the globe for a given day of year..

Link doesn't work. Here is my discussion.

"It's called "first available light""

It's also called "nautical twilight."

I love the predawn darkness and am sorry when I don't wake up naturally in time to get downstairs to experience the true darkness before the first light and the arrival of the light.

It's beautiful at sea. It's just when you can still see the stars and can also see the horizon to take star sights with the sextant. I navigated to Hawaii that way in 1981 in the Transpac race. There was SatNav but only the big boats could use it because of the battery drain. Now, of course, GPS makes it easy.

Something is going on with your blogger.

Right now Kinks the Apeman is up where your Twililight Catch dog show should be, and yesterday Conchita Alonzo was where the first of your Gilligan's Island clips should hve been.a
