In Yemen, dancing around like a 14 year old girl can get you killed!!

Some people here in the U.S. shoot pistols into the air to celebrate New Year's Day. People have been killed from a falling bullet.

Life can end just like that. Poof!

Where are NRA firearms Safety Training Courses when you need them :)

Couldn't have happened in a better place.

No girls there. Guy would have been more careful if there were babes there.
Another machismo related death.
Then again, it could just as accurately called another gangnam style related death.

Wince म्हणाले...

The guy with the AK's got a lot of mansplaining to do.

Reminds me of drunk driving.

Will more hate stop future idiots with guns or drunk idiots with cars?

If so, then hate away with prejudice.

अनामित म्हणाले...

What is your point NotquiteunBuckley? What does accidently killing people have to do with hate?

BTW: Your are very "unBuckley".
William F Buckley would never make an asinine statement like that.

Now THAT'S a culture that loves guns.

I blame the NRA.

The one time misogyny pays off.

Guildofcannonballs म्हणाले...

Sam why do you think I have a point?

Since I do, what do you think it is?

Just guess. Fire off some Freudian whatever-comes-first-to-mind theories and I will let you know either "warm" or "cold" or some variation.

They thought they would be killed by a drone strike, not friendly fire.

Is my point firing off guns and drunk driving are activities one should learn how to make love to (in theory)?

Would our encouragement help more guns be fired off stupidly and more cars to be driven drunkenly and therefore be something to encourage - and, while we are at it, demand taxpayers pay for?

Was this a shotgun wedding?

In Baltimore, MD, on New Years Eve, I could sit in my living room in Hampden and count the shots - 6 for revolvers, 15 for the Glock 19s, 17 for the Glock 17s, 7 for the 1911s.

My neighbor, an electric company lineman, was amazed at how often the drunk shooters managed to hit a wire, a transformer, or an insulator just by pointing the gun up in the air and pulling the trigger.

His collection of shell casing from line repairs was extensive and included everything from 22LRs to 12 guage.

Piers Morgan is planning a one hour special on how AK-47s should be outlawed in Yemen.

Reminds me of that time a bunch of our legislators passed this big bill without reading it.

अनामित म्हणाले...

"Gangnam Style" sounds an awful lot like "gangland style" even if you're a native English speaker. You can see where Yemenis could get confused.

JHapp म्हणाले...

Never mind, that wasn't an accident.

...and that AK-47 deserved it.

Inga: "The one time misogyny pays off."

It's not misogyny.

It's just your standard everyday kind of a thing in a muslim country.

You know, the kind of countries that are never criticized by the left.

For obvious reasons.

This is the reason why most people don't take their rifles to weddings. You can't drink and pack safely.

No seriously: that's a lyric.

Drago, Inga still believes the Benghazi attack was caused by a Mohammed video.

No seriously: that's a lyric.

Pete Seeger did it too. And it's not just a ‘lyric’, it's straight out of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, to wit:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV
[1] “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
[2] “A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
[3] “A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
[4] “A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
[5] “A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
[6] “A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
[7] “A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
[8] “A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Reminds me of what used to be said about Vermont- that it had a low murder rate, but a high hunting accident rate.

Perhaps it wasn't an accident?

Jesus, as stupid as the tradition is, you're not supposed to *empty the weapon*. The husband of an old friend of my mother's badly hurt his back going outside on a New Years to fire off his shotgun. As far as I know, the weapon didn't go off - one of the few cases I'm aware of where someone was badly hurt *despite* good trigger discipline.
