"What is this feeling that I have inside? It makes me feel gloomy..."
Lena D is out to "reduce shame and embarrassment." Meade laughed much more than I did, and I especially liked the part where the guys in the locker room join the catchy refrain: "It's my PEER-eee-udd..."

Was it really necessary to see her blue underwear or was that part of artistic juxtapostion?
Apparently black women don't menstruate.
Well, things could have been worse; I could have been born a girl!
Dang! I can't get this song out of my head.
Time to crank up some Led Zeppelin on my iPod.
Oh. My. God. That is a masterpiece of its kind, by which I mean the amount of "shame and embarrassment" I feel at being female is massively increased by having to share a gender with this woman. The red ribbon dancing was a particularly, um, vivid touch.
I want a man's erectile dysfunction made!
Yes a singing one to reduce the shame!
And maybe we can use green ribbons in our dance.
The jammin' bass solo was the best part.
I'm post men-o-paus-al, post menopausal, po oh oh oh oh post menopausal! Heheh.
Much bloodshed could have been AVOIDED had Carrie only had access to this eductaional video.
I cracked up at the red leaves falling at her feet at the end.
The song could have had a catchier beat. It would have been more effective if written in ragtime.
Inga,
I'm post men-o-paus-al, post menopausal, po oh oh oh oh post menopausal! Heheh.
Yep, me too.
Isn't it great Michelle? Free at last!
Ode on the Death of Mr Henry Purcell would be a nicer period piece.
The genius at work!
Is there really all that much "shame and embarrassment" arising from menstruation?
Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
Good one, fhhardin. You gotta love the comments at your link too.
I wish the term "Shark Week" had been around when I was young enough to use it...hilarious!
Shouldn't health care include free tampons along with free birth control?
It's only fair.
Thanks RH, I needed a palate cleanser.
I come from the generation where girls were glad to have their period because, you know, no shotgun wedding and stuff

OMG, that was like a depth bomb you dropped into the center of my consciousness! My thought (seriously!) was like
0sec: ragtime?
1sec: 'PEE-RI-OD' is kind of syncopated.
2sec: How to arrange it to a ragtime beat?
3sec: How does ragtime go again?
4sec: [Thinking of opening to The Entertainer]
5sec: Hmm. "The Entertainer" is cliche. What else do I know?"
6sec: The Maple Leaf Ra...
7sec: ...
8sec: ...
9sec: *BOOM*
Well played sir!
This song makes me have cramps.
