In a statement Thursday, Sherrod said she was surprised to hear of Breitbart’s death: “My prayers go out to Mr. Breitbart’s family as they cope during this very difficult time. I do not intend to make any further comments.”

Note that while most people peay to God, Ms. Sherrod's prayers were directed to the family of the deceased. Apparently, her prayers were not answered, so she is suing. What a fine thing she is.; १०/१०/१३, ११:३१ AM

I am nowadays a legal pigeon, not an eagle, but there is no way the government is going to pressure K&E to drop the suit. Plus Pigford may be relevant to publicity but The Widow is going to have a hard time making it an issue in the trial.; १०/१०/१३, २:४२ PM

In my view, a list of links is not the "perfect" comeuppance for the Sherrod lawyers at Kirkland & Ellis.

The "perfect" result would be an order from the trial court dismissing the case and ordering Kirkland & Ellis to pay $2 million to the Breitbart estate, pursuant to Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.; १०/१०/१३, ९:५४ PM
Chuck म्हणाले...: Just because I am sort of serious about sanctions against Kirkland & Ellis, I should note that they didn't file the suit in a federal district court. They chose to file in the D.C. Superior Court. Presumably to obtain a favorable jury in a jurisdiction that just might be favorable to an African-American federal worker as the Plaintiff.

And while the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure don't apply in D.C. Superior Court, the actual Superior Court rules are a near-photocopy of the FRCP and yes they have a Rule 11 and it says the same thing as the federal rule.; १०/१०/१३, १०:४७ PM
