Go to Devils Lake, which in my view, is the most beautifil place in Wisconsin.
The entire Lake Wisconsin area is nice.
It's only 20 miles from you. I hope that isn't too far from home!
Also, please go to one of the Supper Clubs on Lake Mendota. I think there are three and they are all run by my parents friends. The "Von Rutenbergs". The son who owns the Nau=Ti=Gal is my classmate at Waunakee High School. And a "family member"-major mo.
You love Madison\Wisconsin but I fear you don't like Supper Clubs. Embrace the supper clubs Mary, it's so Wisconsin.
I'll second the suggestion of Devil's Lake -- there's some pretty decent rock climbing there. Not exactly the Shawangunks, but good crags all the same.

Stay away from the cliff's edge, Meade!
If that's the Arb, I'm going there, tonight, for a run.
We need a word study on Traipsing around.
"If that's the Arb..."
It's Governor Nelson State Park.
We should all enjoy such scenes--Before the expanding polar ice sheet covers Wisconsin up again.
Ahhh, heading out there, Saturday. Great walks this time of year.
Looks like the places I traipse around here in Indiana. Mowed trails are the best.
I find that state park kind of lame.
