What should you be paying attention to right now?

"Errol Morris' documentary 'The Unknown Known,' a look at former Secretary of Defense and Iraq war architect Donald Rumsfeld will also hit the festival trifecta."
The director famously profiled another polarizing defense secretary, Robert McNamara, in his 2003 film 'The Fog of War'; that movie brought Morris and Michael Williams the Oscar for best documentary. The Rumsfeld film's U.S. release date has not been finalized.
I love Morris, and "Fog of War" was great. I look forward to seeing how Rumsfeld handles the intense Interrotron interrogation. By the way, I see that Rumsfeld is criticizing Obama's approach to war in Syria.

And here's McCain urging Obama along (via Real Clear Politics).

But don't get distracted. Pay attention to something that's truly alarming: Sandra Bullock in SPACE!

Hart Seely, on slate.com, printed the works of Washington's greatest poet:

The Unknown

As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know.

Rumsfeld is right. McCain is wrong. The trailer looks great. There is nothing I can do except moan on the of so I think I will go and watch the movie when it comes out.

So Errol Morris likes to make documentaries about incompetent, egotistical assholes.

When does he start filming McCain?

Can we someday ever be free of the tired, and impossible movie cliche of one person dangling over a cliff by one hand and someone yelling, "Give me your hand!"? Now they want to make a whole movie in space about that cliche? Lordy.

That Gravity trailer is the single most gripping trailer I've ever seen. It appears to be an exact section lifted from the full movie. But perhaps it's cut a little different to get all of that action into trailer length. Either way, it should be a wild ride.

Sidenote - I'm not sure how much the fact that the space shuttles are retired now helps or hurts the film.

That is alarming. Sandra Bullock's talents are completely wasted in space.

@Eric

Notice that the title of the film is the one combination he did not use in the famous quote.

I think the title implies that Rumsfeld is a known (he's famous) but the adjective unknown fits because we don't know who he really is.

"The hope of mankind will appear as a stranger!" Is his name Obama? Just asking! Showing in Syrian theaters next week featuring a Nobel Peace Prize winner, don't ya know!

Spaaaaaace! :D

Almost as good as Sandra Bullock in the future, but I suppose not all movies can be as good and politically insightful as Demolition Man.
