JackOfVA म्हणाले...: We moved into our present home 26 years ago - new construction then with dark polyurethane stained oak tongue and groove flooring throughout.

With south-facing windows and our southerly location (Virginia) it didn't take very many years for the sun to bleach the dark stain to a light brown over about half the family room flooring.

Big Mike म्हणाले...: All that blue tape -- why? That's more blue tape than I used fixing up my late mother-in-law's entire house. And I used it to mask areas that were difficult to do freehand because of odd shapes (read "arches"). That just seems stuck on the wall for no good purpose.; ५/८/१३, ६:३३ PM

We got everything out of the room except the internet devices which we put on top of the old room A/C. But the power strip wasn't long enough to reach that spot, so we needed to tape it to the wall.

Painters' tape protects the wall, but it's not strong. So we used a lot of tape.; ५/८/१३, ६:४१ PM

I believe the room is the perfect color, so the temptation to pain is small.

Big Mike म्हणाले...: Okay, that makes sense. Blue tape is very weak but leaves no residue. (As you and Meade obviously know.)

You don't have to paint the room a different color. If it was last painted 5 years ago or longer, there will be plenty of scuff marks on the wall and dings and things. A new coat, even if it's the same color, might be a good idea. And if he paints like he gardens, Meade will be good at it.; ५/८/१३, ७:४९ PM
Sorin म्हणाले...: I love this space. I didn’t recognize this space in the photo yesterday but now I do in the light of day. Wood is our choice of flooring throughout our home. I can’t tell from your photo what type of wood you are laying down. What is it? Oak to be finished or a pre finished flooring like Bella wood? Are you matching the wood of the windows? The flow from the floor to the wood of the windows would be beautiful. As to the color, I think that Meade or you chose a good palate for the exterior of your home.
Good luck, we would like to see how it turns out. My wife and I have some difference regarding paint colors. I love wild colors but she tells me that no one would buy our renovations if I chose the paint colors! She is probably right.; ५/८/१३, ७:४९ PM

That's what we did when I refinished the floors after pulling up the pink carpet. I love walking on "natural" oak floors with bare feet.; ५/८/१३, ९:२७ PM
