It's really too bad about that AC unit and its cord. It does for the feng shui what the phone wires and conduit do for this FLW house (which I pointed out back then in the comments): link
I would think a GC could do the outside repair to match. Meade could do the inside...is it drywall or plaster? Probably plaster if it's newer. You might need to retexture the wall to absolutely hide any traces.
Does that wall face east or west? If you had a window there, you could amuse yourselves marking seasonal sunlight on the gradated floor. Like they did at Stonehenge and inside the Great Pyramid.

There you go. I bought a book through Amazon.
What is the long diagonal in the bottom center of the photo?
... but more intensely fragrant.
I thought Althouse was anosmic?
Tung oil or polyurethane?
We just refinished a maple dining room table with tung oil.
No, tung oil is not oral lubricant. But does have lots of fatty acids: Palmitic acid, Oleic acid, Linoleic acid, alpha-Eleostearic acid.

That is the kitchen floor, which was there from before. It ends with a step down, and the ceiling is different above too.
In 1991, when I redid the kitchen, I removed a wall and extended the floor. You can see how the counter and stove extend into that space.
Pale yellow walls would look very cheerful on sunny days, yet reflect abundant light on gray winter days.

Yeah, and we have central AC, so we don't need that. We just haven't had it removed! Who does that kind of work? I want it done. It should be done.
Normally, I have a painting that I hang over it, but it projects into the room. It's not good.
"I thought Althouse was anosmic?"
Not entirely, so I'm kind of glad to smell anything!

You could also think of having a small window of some sort there--maybe something translucent -- that might be less work.

That wall faces east, but there is zero chance that we'll put a window in there!
Seriously, we have all the windows we need, and we'd probably have to apply to the Landmarks Commission to be allowed to do it.
