The prefab stuff just looks...well, prefab. it doesn't have the look/feel of hand-finished. Like restaurants - even the best big chains don't compare to like local one-offs.
Looks like quarter sawn red oak. Nice choice. Please make sure to keep those labby paws off that new floor for a week or two, until the polyurethane cures. Maybe some dog slippers from Amazon?

That's what I call it too: real floor.
I had to control myself in the showroom from over-repeating myself: This looks fake to me... it just looks fake...
Some of that pre-finished stuff is very elaborate, like it's trying too hard, but I didn't like any of it.
