"We are a group of adults making the choice to learn but also have fun while we do it."

"That's one of the main reasons people love Wisconsin. And if you think Madison would be the same without that idea, you're wrong."

"The police stopped at our house and said if we have anything that resembles any kind of party they would shut us down... I feel like it's unfair. Our entire house is 21 and we should be able to drink on our own property on any weekend we want."

Is that the kids or Casa Irene?

I'm looking forward to the video of the Madison Swat teams going house to house searching for adults with an alcoholic drink.

It must be really nice living in a liberal wonderland.

Damn those uptight right wingers!

Here's a solution. Vote out all those lefty Dems currently running Madison who want to impose their boring notion of the Good Life, vote in some real libertarians like Ron Paul, and all will be well. There should be a large enough population of feckless partiers enrolled at UW to pull it off.

Count every vote. Power to the people.

Mogget म्हणाले...

Hahaha. In the end, these kids won't successfully stand up to Madison's Mayor McCheesburger. They'll fold.

The dark night of fascism is always descending on Walker and yet only lands in Madison.

Judging from this and Bloomberg's fans the left believes freedom means the right to make choices they support.

House parties should be held. Drunkenness should proceed. The cops will not shut any private party down. If Madisonites have any belief in real freedom then every home should have a house party. In solidarity for property rights. The right to assemble. Screw the Man.

Well fellas, this is what leftism looks like. I hope you enjoy it. Boston got a nice taste of it and we all got to see it on TV. I got my popcorn.

If they entertained like civilized adults, they wouldn't attract police attention.

The best commentary on police was Andy Griffith only allowing Barney to have one bullet, and it had to be kept in his pocket.

You didn't build that.

That wouldn't do any good, righties/libertarians/Tea Party are all but silent on people getting arrested and dragged out of the Capitol for wearing buttons and holding blank pieces of paper. I doubt they care if some college kids can't party on their block.

Phil 314 म्हणाले...

The block party began in 1969 as a Vietnam War protest, but has changed over the years to become a large beer bash.

Says it all.

"I feel like it's unfair" ?!?!?

Good god man, open your window, stick your head out, and shout "THIS IS BULLSHIT!"

Unfair?

Pussy.

You don't get Madison do you?

Madison is a bit of the Boston/SF/Manhattan dropped in the Middle of the "Mid-west".

They live in Wisconsin but they are not Mid-westerners - get it?

jeff म्हणाले...

I like garages take. Sure, Madison is run by the left, but its the tea parties fault because they didn't object to his satisfaction over something completely different,

He he...that's pretty accurate I suppose. Amazing what local imagination can do. I've lived in Madison and the place reeks Midwest, period. Nice folks, but "rubes" just like me. :-))

The logical next step would be for government to control the distribution of all alcoholic beverages and the reintroduction of liquor control board "state stores" where all alcohol must be purchased.

Michael Haz म्हणाले...

Tut tut tut, not to worry. Your little drinking party will be shut down by union police who protested Act 10 and Governor Walker, so it's all cool.

I was in Madison lest evening, for dinner with the friends in a nice restaurant on the Square called Harvest. After dinner our group took a stroll around the Square and then down State Street.

We saw several groups of responsible adults exercising their choice to vomit on the sidewalk, urinate on trees, scream profanities at each other, insult women, and generally exhibit the mature behavior historically ascribed to UW drunks.

Apparently 'Grow The Fuck Up 132' is not a required undergraduate course.
