I loved the movie but don't remember much about the characters except that Nick Carraway should be played by a grownup. Tobey Maguire will be 76 and still playing the young man learning at the feet of a greater man.
There's another version of the movie on Youtube that came out in the Forties. It doesn't miss the point of the book but it's kind of boring so somehow it missed the book itself - all that exciting language. It was black and white but that isn't why it was boring. I think they should have done it with stars - Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall as Gatsby and Daisy and the young Jimmy Stewart as Nick and Bette Davis as the garage owner's wife.

That was refreshingly hilarious. No wonder there is an open jar of peanut butter on Bpb Wright's desk in the blogginghead.
It's gotten great reviews, it's gotten lousy reviews.
Like the book.

Gosnell plea bargains to life
The laugh track. I'm not clear why?

No,not for me.
Gosnell of course doesn't get the Death Penalty.
I'll give it two years til he is the target of a "Free Mumia" style rehabilitation campaign.
Hopefully some of the prisoners in the general population have a better sense of justice than the state of Pennyslvania towards this monster.

Come on, that bit with the peanut butter is funny! Nomnomnomnomnom and it's someone else's voice because she cant read.
I've wanted to read the book myself, but there's nothing like "American classic" to put one off.
I'm not generally a Colbert fan, but this was good stuff.
The Tobey character was actually in love with Gasby in the book but in the movie there was no actually love.
I blame homophobes!
