"I was just a stay-at-home mother. I was pregnant with another baby, and I wanted to do what was right. My Tea Party group was becoming really large..."

"... and I couldn't run the money and the donations through my bank account. I was advised the IRS would come after you for that."
So I started calling other groups and I thought I would file and create an organization, and here they were all getting targeted by the IRS, and I got scared....

"Send us your Facebook pages, your Twitter pages," and I said, "Does that include personal pages?" and they said, "Everything."  They wanted to know your personal relationships with politicians and political parties. And I asked, "What would happen if I don't send this to you?" and they said, they made an insinuation like, "Look, it can be considered perjury if you omit things from the IRS."  I'm a pregnant stay-at-home mother on one income, I thought, "Oh, my goodness, I'm not doing anything." I stopped.

Do you often blame victims for not wishing to be victimized?

The great thing about when Republicans go off on these victimhood tangents is that they waste time and energy that would be more productively employed trying to make conservative ideas popular with American voters. But these fantasy romps into victimhood land also leads to conservatives feeling disappointed and rejected.

There seems a lack of imagination here. The government might be much worse, much more poised to destroy individuality, than we have thus far thought possible. I am guilty of this lack of imagination.

Suppose that the government is controlled by ideological partisans with no scruples. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. They are smart and crafty, though; they stop short of doing things that will uncover their strategy. They know most people are stupid and ill-informed, and they use that to their advantage.

If such a government existed, what behaviors would we expect from the people who govern?

Would they deploy the IRS to suppress conservatives and Jews?

Would they lie about foreign policy fiascos in order to win elections?

Would they blackmail corporations to gain financial and political power?

Would they use tools like lack of knowledge, admission that government is difficult, and anonymous, undocumented recusal to hide their crimes and extend their power?

Yes, they would do these things. The Soviets did them; Nixon did them; all corrupt governments do them. Obama and crew are doing them.

@Nathan,

I'm going with stupid.

Would they reward cronies with money extorted from the citizenry?

Would they lie about the nature of their enemies?

Nathan Alexander,

Garage (Albert Einstein was a product of the American educational system) really is that stupid.

"The alternative is that he really is that stupid and/or evil. Either of the latter possibilities frightens me."

He is your garden variety Wisconsin lefty. Fat, ignorant, jealous of his betters, and meticulously goes out of his way to avoid facts that intrude on the narrative he gets from the liberal internet hive mind.

The only thing that seperates him from the rest of the libtard herd is that he had a wife who left him and took his daughter with her.

You see, many of the pale white fat uneducated wisconsin lefties never reproduce.

President-Mom-Jeans, you lack imagination, but you have prejudice in abundance. Maybe garage mahal is actually Barack Obama. Thin, black, etc. Got his daughters close by.

Well Bob, if Althouse hadn't commented on his overweight physical status and if he hadn't posted a picture of himself alongside the Westboro Baptists, I would be more open minded.

Also, his paleness is confirmed by his lack of education, as he was not able to benefit from affirmative action, not even in an Elizabeth Warren type of way.

If he was Obama, he would type "let me be clear" and "the fact of the matter" preceding more of his lies.

No word on whether the poor woman who fled him bears any phyiscal resemblance to First Lady Camacho however.

This is what happens when you let obama train for swimming the atlantic by wearing msm provided water wings. When it comes to difficulty out in there the choppy sea he's sinking like a stone. His best defense so far is he's incompetant and didn't know what his administration was doing on all 3 scandals. How long is that going to play?

What part is redacted? The IRS routinely is supposed to redact personal information on citizens' tax information; was that the only part redacted?

http://abcnews.go.com/images/Politics/Appendix%20VI%20and%20Appendix%20VII.PDF

The initial date on the timeline is redacted, as well as the action that kicks off the timeline. Why would the date be redacted?

rcommal म्हणाले...

Potentially, five not three current scandalous things.

Will the leftovers also warm up? Who knows.

I read Althouse, Drudge, and Instapundit everyday before noon. Therefore, I have no reason to listen to Limbaugh. I know everything he is going to say. Except the funny way he puts things sometimes. I can hear that the next day, usually.
